Vypin Island hotels & places to stay

Spent 3 nights at sealagoon. Location is perfect if you are a beach person, cross the road ua at the beach, walk out of the roomthe infinity pool extends to the backwaters.. serves scrumptious breakfast that's generally included with the room stay.. have a choice of restaurants, n roadside bandis n thelas on the same road most of them sea facing, so you can have ur variety of food just a walk away too.. hardly 45 minutes from the airport.. they have a small bookcase filled with books about 20-30, that adds to the whole package.. everything is picturesque so ud keep stopping n taking pictures everywhere.. lastly, the staff is really friendly and helpful.. everything's served with a smile.. one of the best holidays I've had..

Thank you to Dori and her staff for making my stay here perfect, from the beginning right up to the end. The relaxing time right next to the ocean, sunbathing, eating the very cheap delicious freshly prepared food, swimming in the warm ocean bath, and watching the dolphins each day was exactly what I needed. I couldn't have asked for more and could easily have stayed a week. The rooms are elegantly designed, very clean, and the staff are very friendly. I stayed for 3 nights - one night in room number 4 and two nights in room number 2 - both with sea view. I don't understand how this hotel has received some unfavorable reviews in recent months - maybe people forget that this is India and there will always be something not up to western standards. It was expensive for me but it was worth every penny. I strongly recommend this hotel (especially the sea view rooms) if you want to treat yourself for a few nights. You will not find a better place right next to the ocean in Cherai beach.

The property is located on Vypin Island so access fto Fort Cochin requires a short auto-rikshaw ride and a ferry - no real problem unless you want to be in the heart of Cochin. The hotel was vert good value in a region where this cannot always be said. The rooms are large and well furnished with good quality materials, excellent beds and bedding with a good bathroom. The food was good and the breakfast was excellent. The highlight is the staff. A little suprising because the front-desk is staffed by young people on short-term internships but they are really keen to do their best and work quite effectively within the rules of the management. In fact all the staff at this property were worth mentioning as they really seemed to try hard. This in a country where hotel and restaurant staff standrards are pretty poor. Si I recommend this property especially for families and for those who want to escape a little from the Cochin environments.

Very good hospitallity. It was a pieceful and joyful holiday had with Indriya. Location wise lake at one side and beach at otherside. Fishing, boating, kids play area, food, accomodation room was the activities. Staffs are amazing support with smiling face. My kid enjoyed much and staffs are helped for baby food even mid night and early morning. Thanks to Pradap and cooking team. Sea food was special and got what ever we liked. GM of the resort handled us patiently. Thanks boss Families with combined get together can be joyfull with this resort.

Hotel located directly on Cherai Beach, further up north, i.e. away from the crowds. Cherai Beach in general is a beach frequented mostly by locals from surrounding villages. If you are a foreigner, be prepared to be stared at all the time (as mentioned, there isn't any crowd at the hotel directly). The beach in front of the hotel is not very wide and there arent't any people who relax on beach towels. Best to enjoy the ocean in the water, and to enjoy the view from the room's balcony (not all rooms have sea view). There isn't much to do around the hotel. There are no bars and no other restaurants. Best to use to hotel's roof top restaurant (which tends to heat up a lot - please install fans!). The food (Indian) is quite yummy.

We stayed with our family for 1 night. Few good part is that staff is good, breakfast is nice and beaches are close. Bad part is that the food in the menu card is very costly, like for tea more than 200+ service charges. The worst part is their taxi service in which my experience was worst having a driver to my belief was taking commission and seems disinterested. Very inhospitable and rude taxi driver who seems egostic about south India. I will never recommend their taxi service. It has been 2 days i have put an official compliant against the driver but it seems there is no action. It seems that the driver was true in his words in which he boasted that he was their best driver and no action can be taken under him. Note that their taxi service is also privately run as Cherai Taxi service, so please if you want nice trip, dont book it either.

This is a really lovely resort to stay at. The bungalows are very nice. overlooking the resort gardens and beautiful backwaters of the island, including small fishing boats and chinese fishing nets. The sandy beach is 500m walk away and very quiet, but a busier beach is 5 mins in a rikshaw if you like other people around. We preferred the local beach which we had to ourselves. The restaurant was very good, having a range of different meals for lunch and dinner, and a really good breakfast. But the best thing about staying at Les 3 Elephants was the staff - always super helpful and friendly.

I stayed ina cheaper room and found it to be amazing, roght on the beach. The design was really mice and comfortable and the features, such as a/c, flatscreen t.v. (and satellite), hot water, etc. all worked perfectly without a hitch. The food was just out of this world and the room service was impeccable. I'd been in India for about 2 months at this point in my trip and was able to fully relax, enjoy the beautiful beach and really wind down after a pretty hectic trip. I'm a picky traveller so even after walking around and checking ojt other places, i felt i was very lucky in having booked such a great place onljnea nd wouldn't have chnaged it for the world. This place is what you need and want from a cheap traveller's stay. the beds were fine and the sheets and towels and pillows were clean, which is a lot to say compared to some other places i've been to in India. the staff are kind and nice and they can cook some nice food too. You are extremely close to the beach and it seems like the only non rip-off hotel/stay on cherai beach. The place is very very close to the beach which is good.

If you looking for a place where you can relax wash your stress away , enjoy birds singing and natural quiet surroundings in the middle of back waters this is the place. The 1st day after our arrival we were feeling like in haven lying on hammock , watching local people and fisherman’s . The whole family is very nice and makes you feel very welcome at their house. Jess cooked for us and she made the best fish we have ever eat The house is placed little distance from the ferry or beach so if you don’t mind traveling every day this place is for you Well recommended Best greeting to Denis and Laura (guests at Silver moon) thanks for your time with us 

Very well kept , secure hotel , with excellent helpful staff, good food,daily papers and a hop , skip and a small jump to a quiet beach-say 60m. distance.Watch the sun set over the water.Or sit in the garden with lawn, small pond and sun umbrella.Clothes washing arranged, and room service Pretty clean beach and gently shelving sandy shore. Quiet at night and outdoor roofed but open dining areas in the garden. Explore the lanes behind the hotel, or take a taxi to Cochin via the ferry -about an hour So good we stayed also at the end of our trip

Pro’s: * nice small hotel, boutique feel about it with only ten rooms, lovely looking building, a bit old colonial * bedrooms are huge, far bigger than usual. Very well appointed with plenty of storage space, * lovely super king bed, extremely comfortable, 1st class bedding quality * booked on Agoda and price was extremely good value for money * hotel staff all excellent. Couldn’t do enough for you, very pleasant and smiling, a warm welcome * extremely good food at dinner. We eat there three nights out of a possible four. All good. Young but talented chef. Varied menu items at our request Cons: * you need to know that the hotel is actually in quite a remote area. There aren’t any shops per se, just a few shacks, restaurants and a couple of what we would call shops * despite the dinner being excellent you can’t get a decent instant coffee. It’s awful. The breakfast buffet was restricted but some days we were the only guests so guess this was to do with that.. I would retur

If you are willing to spend quality time far from the city crowd & chaos, it'd be the Best place. Beautiful clean room (though not spacious as shown in the images), calm ambiance, few meters away from the sea, tasty foods, and the added benefit of a cool-blue swimming pool: what else? More to mention about the super-friendly staff, especially Vivek and Sarath. They were always ready to extend their service whenever needed. Note: The property is a little away from the city center and takes just above 1 hour to reach. Roads are narrow and not suitable for bigger vehicles. If you are a small family, ask Vivek for a rented 2-wheeler. It'd be super handy for visiting nearby places.
