Pricey but good experience!”
The stay was perfect with the exception of the uncontrollable weather. Everything you would come to expect of a luxury retreat. Will definitely visit again when the bank account recovers from the damages!
We had our babymoon here (instead of going to maldives) and we were extremly happy with our stay. Great staff, great facilties, peaceful and relaxing. Altthough by the 3rd night we had to venture out into town to find something different for dinner.
Good view at the lobby and you will love it”
We come with three persons in the group for relaxing trip in this hotel, feeling very great in the hotel facilities even for the spa services that I am feeling great and enjoyed for the trip. The service provided by the hotel staff is great and worth for the money you have spend to the hotel. The Lobby have the good view that you and your family can enjoyed with evening tea and taking photos which is the best and relax that I was there.
GREAT VIEW, nice private pool”
The W retreat hotel was EXCELLENT in terms of its hardware. The view, facilities, the private pool, the seaview, and various amenities you would expect. The service and 'people', however, could use some improvements. We will write a more detailed review. Overall, this was a great experience.
A bit of a rip-off honestly”
We were expecting something very special and overall it has been a very disappointing experience. We got an upgrade which is great but there was dead leaves in our pool, and a dead cockroach in the morning in our bathroom. Not what you expect from a 5* hotel at 500£ a night. Breakfast was just ok. Staff is lovely although the whole introduction process that every staff member goes through is a bit irritating. They also exactly know what you’ve booked and what your room number is, and it made us feel a bit monitored. It felt quite empty and really lacked of atmosphere (we were often on our own at the beach bar!). I also suspect they use MSG in their food as it tasted very salty and I didn’t sleep well at all (which is one of the effect MSG has on me). We can tell by the population that they only advertise in the US and in China, for people who are not interested in leaving the hotel. Location is average: not the best beach and quite far from the main road. No shuttle to the main road.
Room & staffs were awesome, but it’s just way too expensive. (SGD$1k per night)
Booked two rooms, pool with ocean view and pool with garden view. Rooms are great, Namu jap restaurant food was great. Alot of privacy but the only imcomveniemce issue is everywhere we go need a buggy to take us. Look for Zita and she will help you to book a private half day or full day speed boat which is great. Buggy drivers always has a smile on their face which you fuel bad if you dont tips them. :) room wise is perfect except some of the lights auto off by itself and even when all doors are close, the aircon off by itself. Woke up two nights for due to aircon off by itself and have to on ut back.
This is my first stay in this hotel and I would say and recommend that this hotel is suitable for couple that prefer a good loving romancing there. Very privacy Indeed. I booked two rooms, one with garden view with pool and one with ocean view with pool. I enjoy the stay there for 4 days with a nice arrangement from hotel for our private speed boat trip out to sea. It was great. Hotel Japanese restaurant Namu serves good and tasty food and we love it. Please remember to book in advance cos mostly it will be full. Whenever you going to have breakfast or anywhere within hotel, you will have to call to Whatever/Whenever for buggy to send you there. Some of the staffs are really helpful. Worth a try in this hotel.
A bit crowded and over priced ”
1. Rooms are too close and not enough space in the room when compare to other luxury hotels in samui. 2. Not a good place for honey moon or retreat. 3. Some ice-cream in the free sweet spots are melted. 4. Too many mainlanders in W, they are super noisy and destroyed the quietness of a retreat resort. 5. The staffs are helpful and nice after all however, we would not choose to go back anymore. 6. The breakfast and food in the Kitchen Table is very nice.
Fantastic hotel ”
Super friendly staff. Truly is a retreat. Make plans to spend at least a couple of days there just chilling around. Everything was great, pool villa was beautiful. They left little surprises daily in the room. You can walk or a buggy comes to pick you up straight from your room.
Probably the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. There are better hotels nearby also with private pools for 20% of the price. Breakfast requires an early start and a lot of energy due to all the stairs. The rooms are very nice don't get me wrong but even if the hotel offered an 80% discount you still wouldn't get me back there. The beach was nice but there are better and you need to get a taxi to go anywhere else. If they halved the price I would give it 4 stars but at 100,000 baht for 3 nights it's a 1 star place.
Beautiful setting, mediocre food, not that good beach since the sand was rough and got cut a few times walking barefoot but saving grace, beds everywhere is good. Very relaxing vacation in a hotel with a beautiful atmosphere.
Honeymoon Couple ”
We stayed at the W-retreat for 7 nights on our honeymoon. This place is absolutely amazing, the staff are the most friendly, genuine people you could ever meet, they felt like family to us and we were so sad to leave. We really can't wait to get back to Koh Samui and stay at the W, we hired a scooter and drove around to the many other hotels in Koh Samui, this included Banyan Tree and Tongsai Bay I am pleased to say that staying at the W was the best decision we have ever made none of these hotels come close to comparing. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the W. We miss all of the staff at the w
corner of the island location with great views”
Overall great experience. In terms of value for money probably not ,as i find it just slightly overpriced. Breakfast did not serve enough variety. However i do like the fact that they have a juice station. Nice small private beach to chill around. Name - the Japanese restaurant was overrated and pricey.Though the presentation of the food was good. Better off eating outside the resort though.Another downside was that the lobby area had too many outside visitors trying to pose pictures with the famous sink-in sofa (with the stunning backdrop behind). The buggy services was really quick though.Other than that the gym and sports classes such as muay thai was a bonus.
The service and facility of W hotel didn't meet my”
I was surprised by the staff's without warm greeting upon arrival. The butlers seemed introduced the room and hotel facilities in a rush and immediately rolled out of villa after quick touring. The most unacceptable thing in such expensive w hotel is the service in restaurants . I would say we were really disappointed at W hotel in Sami comparing with many other luxury resorts.
nice hotel, good good, but bad quality of sand”
The hotel decoration very cozy and more modern compare to other hotel in Samui. But if compare to other W hotel, i would say W retreat not so treandy and not really need W stardard. Ocen view is really impressed me. Foods at Table Kitchen was awesome!! but beach and sand was disappointed us alot.
Extrodinary views sitting back sipping on Cocktail”
The resort is located perfectly for the person who wants to get away from the everyday crowds but at the same time enjoy the hip vibes and sounds of a happening bar whilst enjoyning a few drinks outdoors. The W branch of hotels has a very modern and funky feel and this one does not disappoint.
you get what you pay for! excellent staff from checkin to checkout. the rooms are large spacious and the bed is very very comfortable. nice quiet beach and many great seating areas to relax with a nice view. excellent breakfast as well. overall pleased with little negatives.
Alot of flys and bugs, bad beach”
Alot of flys and bugs, many warnings on the beach for jelly fish and sharp coral No facilities just spa and bars and japaness restaurant, no activites by hotel they have just yachet , and other activities with other company Nice and frindly staff
Nice luxury hotel for sure”
