Good Host & Unusually Nice Location”
Gorgeous Garden!
We enjoyed ourselves last December. The garden was nice and the location wasn't too hard to find for us. There's a small stretch of local stores nearby where we found our daily rides to get to different places. It's not walking distance to Sigiriya Rock but with the tuktuk service, you can reach there easily and affordably.

Good location in the wilderness”
Close to nature
The staff were friendly but service is very poor and expensive. However the rooms are clean. No wifi and the price is not cheap either. Nothing much to shout. However, the common area is very attractive with wooden furniture made from trees. Very natural. If the service can be improved it would be a great place especially for nature lovers. Food also nothing much to shout about

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
personalised service of the owner
A huge sprawling space. Cottages are nice and clean. Service is excellent. Best part is the personal arrention of the owner Retired Air Commodore Anand. Very helpful for tourists.Knowledgable and a great conversationalist. Breakfast is good. Srilankan meal for dinner is always not so palatable unless properly chosen. It is better to stick to Rice and chicken curry both in terms of taste as well as economy. Mineral water at the hotel is unusually expensive. A bottle costing 65 SLR will be charged 120 SLR after discount, hence purchase from outside is recommended. We enjoyed our stay and given an opportunity would stay again there.

good location near sigiriya lion rock”
location, breakfast
the room was a little dirty with a frog and a lizard welcoming us into the room. The location of the room is good which is well inside the jungle and gives a good view early morning. Overall, a decent hotel if there are no other options. Cleanliness could be improved. Lots of mosquitoes around since the rooms are located behind the main building into the farms. The dinner was expensive relative to the quantity they gave. Everywhere else, the same dinner would have cost half the price, even if you go to a shack in the southern coast beaches.

Hotel is not in very good condition.”
Good location. Not far from Sigiriya.
this bungalow type hotel has good potential due to good location near sigiriya but it is not well maintained. rooms are clean enough but very basic. it is suitable for one night stay but nothing more than that. definitely too pricey for that kind of service.

Best Hotel for Sigiriya”
Relaxed place, great food, great host, great facilities - Value for money!
Wadula Hotel is a few Km from the World Heritage Site and is an ideal base for visiting all the attractions in the area. Ana (the owner) has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and will be more than happy to guide you so that you make the most of your time in the area, it seems nothing is too much trouble for him and his staff. I originally planned to stay 2 days but stayed 4 instead. Food is authentic but western food is also easily available. Enjoy a nice cold beer or wander around the 22 acre grounds to discover the birds and animals. Kick back and relax and let Ana look after you, he is a great host and has so many interesting stories to tell.

Lovely host but rooms & food can be better”
Attentive host
Location - Convenient and there are buses just outside the hotel. It's only 3km away from the Sigiriya (Lion's Rock). Rooms - Basic rooms, but can be cleaner (we found a cockroach in the room and a millipede in the bathroom) Food - We had dinner there and it was disappointing. My chicken curry was not cooked properly (meat was raw) but the manager got it changed immediately. My friend's chicken briyani was below expectations too. Overall - OK experience but cleanliness and food needs to be improved.

Big yard”
Take walk in big yard to watch birds
We are satisfied with our stay in Wadula Hotel. We rented a car from Colombo to Sigiriya. This hotel is not in the town center, but we have no problem to access it by car. The hotel manager kindly arranges our breakfast at 10:30 as we request because we want to visit Lion Rock at 7:00. We have nice talk with gardener, and watch birds in its big yard.

Great hotel and wonderful service”
location, food, hotel, value for money
We had a fantastic time in this resort. The rooms are big clean and with a working AC. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The food is fresh local and very tasty. The location is perfect with Sigiriya rock at about 2 km away from the resort and with plenty of excursions that can be organized easily through the hotel within a reasonable distance.

Old world charm, friendly helpful staff, superb food & beer, centrally located for day trips
This hotel offers true old world charm surrounded by lush jungle & lakes. Centrally located to nearby attractions, it makes for a great base to explore the region. The meals are true Sri Lankan style & very econimical. The staff are friendly happy & cheerful & always willing to assist.

Pathetic place with a cheat manager - Beware”
None
Place is quite run down and old with full of mosquitoes. rooms are old, untidy and dirty. The hotel manage is a big cheat and greedy guy who would try his best to strip you for your US dollars. breakfast sucked bug time too. They used a single tea bag to make tea for us and the so called orange juice was as useless as the hotel. furthermore, they put restrictions on you to return back by 2100hrs and use internet at the reception by that time. rooms are situated quite far from the reception and proper lighting's are not provided for ur walk through the jungle to ur room.

Lovely hotel surrounded by lush trees”
Lots of trees!
we only stayed in this hotel one night after climbing the lion mountain so we get what we paid for. it's a small and nice hotel in sigiriya town. the hotel is surrounded by trees so the air breeze and nice. it gets really quite at night that you could hear sound of bugs. the rooms are spread out in a huge land. the owner and staffs are friendly. the room is spacious and clean, but i would've picked an ac room though if there is next time, because the room was super hot! the fan didn't help at all.

Great location but food is scarce”
Strategically close to Sigiriya Rock
We like the location. However, dinner was ridiculously disappointing. As we arrived late and was hungry, we called in advance to order for a vegetarian dinner. Our vegetarian dinner for 6 persons was a measley choice of 3 small dishes of dhal, okra curry and fried onions, some very dry rice, and orange juice (which doesn't taste very fresh). All for a total of LKR5863!!! While we are stuck in the middle of no where with no menu to choose from, we just quietly pay for this meal. Our average meal across all towns in Sri Lanka ranges from LKR1400 (a local cafe) to LKR3600 (Mama's Rooftop Cafe, Fort Galle). We think this measley meal is a lame ludicrous excuse for a vegetarian dinner.

Simply disappointing.”
Nothing.
Arrived later in the eve after travelling since early morning and requested sandwiches for dinner. They took over an hour to prepare. The menu had a dead spider squished between the pages.Bathroom shower curtain dirty with visible signs of mold. Glasses in bathroom dirty and unwashed. We left one night earlier than planned. After paying in advance for this stay I was completely disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone.
