The exceptional views and comfortable bures at this resort manage to provide luxury at less of a price than other, nearby resorts. Fiji is well known for a being a diver's paradise, and fans of diving will be pleased to know there are in excess of 70 easily accessible dive sites near the resort. For a bit of a history lesson in the macabre, visit the nearby Tomb of Ratu Udre Udre, the burial place of a 19th century tribal cannibal chief who consumed around 800 human beings during his reign. The food provided at the resort is top-notch - and contains no people - and certain nights of the week feature elaborate Lovo and Fijian dance performances. Due to the lower price associated with this small slice of island paradise, the Wananavu Beach Resort is a great choice for Fiji.

Why would you EVER stay anywhere else?”

Beautiful, relaxing, heavenly Wananavu. We had a beachfront bure that was thoughtfully furnished with TWO VERY comfortable chairs in the room facing the beach, plus table and chairs out on the deck. Staff was INCREDIBLE! We loved this place so much, we added a night, then returned after driving ourselves around the island for another 4 nights. We have never felt more welcomed in any hotel/resort anywhere in the world.

Beautiful property and amazing staff. Food was excellent!”

Property is beautiful and impeccably maintained. Saw baby stingrays right at the beach (beware). Rooms were spacious, clean and interior design was very nice. Staff were pleasant and eager to please. From the minute I arrived they knew my name is used if frequently. Nothing nicer than coming for breakfast and great "good morning Dan". Diving was excellent as well although due to rains vis was low. I only dive once because I wasn't feeling great. Only suggestions for improvement would be; provide bottled water in the room, real juice at breakfast as opposed to tang and a bit better organization with tours...nothing worth passing up staying here for sure. Thank You Wananavu!

Wananavu is definitely a resort to remember. The staff is outstanding, the band at dinner time fantastic and the views - unbelievable. We certainly recommend to stay there! Just a word to avoid disappointment: There`s nothing really around the resort. It`s in the middle of nowhere but actually, we enjoyed especially that.

This is a very friendly resort located in Volivoli. We were greeted with a wonderful fruit drink upon our arrival, and checking in was a breeze. Love the food at the restaurant -- buffet for both breakfast and dinner. The show after dinner was also fantastic.

    Setting, staff, authentic Fiji

If you can't live without television, great WiFi, and want to impress people with your designer luggage and clothing, you'll do better to stay at home and watch the Discovery channel or Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. But if you enjoy snorkeling/diving, a spectacular setting, good food, a friendly staff and guests ... Wananavu is the closet place I've found to paradise. I can't wait to go back!

    Palm tree paradise”

We booked the Ocean View Honeymoon Bure, but the resort is very large and this bure was a long way from the beach (actually behind the car park). The staff were happy to move us to a beachfront bure right on the sand, just steps away from the water. Perfect! Don't consider any other rooms - these are the best for couples. Some basic maintenance needed, but the rooms are clean and spacious. Diving was excellent - great colourful soft corals and lots of fish. Snorkelling near the mainland/islands is not so great. For better snorkelling go out on a dive boat offshore (with some currents though!). There is also a tennis court, kayaks, etc so plenty of activities to keep busy. Food was great, bar deck was amazing, pool was great, staff were so friendly. Free breakfast included bacon, eggs, hot items etc as well as the usual continental breakfast. Really good value. The only downside is the long trip from Nadi - 2.5 hr drive was long and boring! Such a beautiful and relaxing resort.

Great place to unplug and scuba dive.”

We came for the dive program, which was excellent. Shawn and Angel who run the PADI dive program were fabulous. The dive sites and crew were amazing. WiFi is sold by the hour, day or week. Cell service works but is slow to upload. There is no TV in your room. There is one in the restaurant. Some of the food was really good. The rooms were ok. With AC . No window glass .Beds not as good as a Holiday Inn Express. There is a small fridge and coffee crystals/tea with boiling pot. Some rooms have bigger bathrooms with 2 sinks. Other have smaller motel type bathrooms. I did not see any with tubs. The views and hammocks were some of our favorite things. The sun sets behind a mountain but is still beautiful each night and they offer happy hour pricing around that time. They offer excursions to places out side of the resort. The town of Raki Raki was close enough to go into town for snacks. Parking was free at the hotel. We loved the staff. Especially Mere! She's the best.

Beautiful place, friendly staff and family-friendly”

The resort is beautiful and very well located. The sea views are splendid, the pool is very pretty and has a waterfall (something our son enjoyed very much :) and the beach is very nice with trees that provide some shade. Some surprisingly interesting snorkeling with some pretty corals not far from the shore and gorgeous snorkeling if you take the boat ride to see the dolphins. The boat captain and staff were very kind and generous, making sure we'd stay as long as possible to the snorkeling site and showing us/playing with the dolphins for quite a while. Beautiful corals, plenty of fish and a couple of white tip sharks. Wonderful experience. There were also quite a few families with younger kids (like us) and the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. We loved it despite the fact that it rained most of the time and we are planning to go back. We would definitely recommend it.

    Lovely Friendly Resort”

This was our second time here, we enjoyed our stay Resort is couple hours transfer from Nadi so check your flight times if you don’t want to get up to early. Diving again very good, food the same. Differences to last time is in the cost, meals and spa. Last time we had the meal deal and thought nothing of it. And I enjoyed the spa everyday. This time breakfast was included I don’t eat lunch and the other was out on the dive boat, Breakfast and Dinner was sufficient when you are just lazing around as I was. Spa treatments were good but I thought expensive compared to last visit. Still a good resort, friendly staff and lovely rooms, well kept gardens. Airport transfer was included but I believe that is going

The resort overall certainly does not fall within the modern and new category, but if you can be ok with a more rustic look and feel you will ve very happy. Overall it is very clean, very friendly staff, great location. We used the free kayaks extensively and the area is great for exploring via kayaks. We also did the island trip that we all enjoyed lots. We had a beach villa where you literally stepped out of your beachfront villa onto the beach, and I would strongly recommend it.

Wonderful Hotel with more Pros than Cons!”

    Great Rooms, Views, friendly staff....

The Wananuva Hotel is a wonderful resort in an area of Fiji that sorely needs it in my opinion. Though some may come to this area for a more "authentic" or maybe even "rustic" taste of Fiji. That doesn't mean you should have to return after a day of adventure to a "rustic" hotel room. Wananuva had wonderful "Bures" with garden, and beach views I stayed in one of each and they were both comfortable, clean and gave you that I'm in Fiji feel. A little porch on each was a nice touch, bathrooms were spacious and showers were hot. I would recommend this Hotel in anyone venturing this side of the Vitu Levu island.

Nice Resort had a great time. Staff very helpful and flexible Manager at the dive center very honorable man. I had an issue with the pre arranged charges on a fishing trip which he promptly corrected when he realized the overcharge was an error in communication from the dive center side. I will give them 10/10 for the honesty and service. Will definitely recommend the resort to friends and will definitely revisit them.

It was raining when we arrived and it was raining when we left. In between, it was simply magical. We will come back. Very suitable for family with toddlers, swimming pool partially in the shade most of the day. Ideal setting for a glass of wine by the beach watching the sun sets. We recommend to book the beach front bure. Amazing dives with beautiful corals and a wonderful team to take care of you.

Apart from one lady who was a bit abrupt at dinner the first night, the staff were welcoming and friendly in the Fiji way. Facilities were totally satisfactory. Food no worse than other Fijian resorts. The view was fantastic. The diving was wonderful, although the rough seas marred our enjoyment due to seasickness. Would stay here again.

    Relaxed weekend”

I hired a car and travelled from Suva. A beautiful drive, with goodish road conditions. Arrived at Wananvu and the friendly and attentive service began. Wananvu is a relaxed resort with a mix of garden, ocean view and beachfront accommodation, all amongst well maintained lush gardens ... so much so the water is difficult to see from some of the garden bures! I had two massages which were great, and enjoyed the relaxed and delicious dining. There's a good, interesting menu available. I hope I have the chance to return.
