not having ever stayed in a 5 star hotel we have nothing like it to compare to. however, we were very pleased at the service, cleanliness, and presentation of this hotel. very spacious deluxe room, and the normal room service (cleaning, re-stocking) was terrific too. there is an indoor pool that was a bit on the cool side, but it didn't detract from our daughter having fun in it. free, clean, magnet-locked locker room, and clean showers in locker room. several dining options available, the coffee buffet decent, not grand. the 20th floor italian restaurant, though a bit pricey, was fancy enough and tasty, with amazing views overlooking downtown beijing (tiananmen square, part of forbidden city). hotel in excellent location, just a few blocks from above named attractions. we would definitely stay here again!!

Walking distance to many major tourist attractions. I walked over to Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City and along the way passed by a couple of museums including the China Railway Museum. Other attractions nearby that I can remember off the top of my head include the Temple of Heaven and Wangfujing Snack Street. The subway is very nearby as well while Sanlitun which is an area with an upscale shopping mall and bar street is around 7 to 8 km away. The staff at the hotel were excellent, friendly and helpful from the bell boy to restaurant employees. I asked the receptionist for directions to the Forbidden City at first and they provided me with a Novotel issued tourist map complete with Mandarin translations. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Food is available nearby and of course in the hotel while the Beijing Railway Station is also walking distance away. This is the second hotel I stayed in Beijing and definitely recommend.

We stayed at the Hotel for 7 nights. The Hotel is conveniently located within the Wangfujing shopping area and also near to attractions like the Forbidden City (we walked there from the Hotel) and Tiananmen. The Wangfujing subway station is 10-15 minutes’ walk away but it is not a difficult walk as there are shopping malls along the way. Airport shuttle bus (25RMB) stops very near to the Hotel. The Hotel has a good gym and swimming pool. The room was a little old but spacious and overall acceptable and no problem with the air-con. The Hotel staff from the front desk to the concierge to the housekeeping were friendly and helpful. We would especially like to thank the young man from the concierge who was working on 18 May ~9pm. We were having problem with an external agent over a tour booking and approached the staff for help; he was polite and full of initiative to help and even used his phone to help us call the external agent. Overall, a very good hotel!

the hotel is located in the center of the city, 1 minute walking distance from wangfujing shopping street, 15-20 minutes from forbidden city and tiananmen square. the room was not new but very clean, pleasant, bed was comfortable and nothing was falling apart. the room service was fast and the staff was very friendly and helpful and we were able to communicate well in english. the room was comfortable for a couple. tap water in china are not good. there is a 24/7 across the street from the hotel where we bought our water. the water and drinks in the minibar are very expensive. we are now going back to beijing and will stay at this hotel again for our last weekend in china.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days,after travelling from Shanghai on the bullit train(4.5hrs express G train)Travelled by taxi about 30 mins from South Beijing railroad station.The room size for a standard queen bed is good,although if you can ask for a room with a view of the forbidden city do so, as because of the hotel roof shape,many rooms have only ceiling windows which only alows for .The location is unbelievableas it is close to so many must se tourist attractions,Wangfujing street(the main street for disigner shopping and also local street market,which sells just about anything.Travelling to badaling wall which is the best section of the Great Wall is easy by bus (2hrs from Wangfujing station Line 1 then line 2 station.Catch bus number 877 at the bus transit.Overall the stay at this hotel for price and location will impress any fussy person.

This is a comfortable, clean and mordern hotel with its location extremely ideal for both the cultural tourist and the deep pockets tourist. The main tourist attractions like the Tienanmen and the forbidden City just a short ride away (walking distance in fact, for the less out of shape) Shopping and the food street at Wangfujing is a sight on its own, blending the 1000 year historical site with its 21st century architecture. Hiadilao steamboat restaurant located not far from the hotel is highly recommended. Late Night supper at Guijie or chilling at Sanlitun are both not far from the hotel. (20+ RMB cab fare)

Stayed with Hilton Wangfujing for 2 nights and found that this hotel is one of the best I have stayed in... The price is considered at the higher end, but there is no regret for it... Location is great, just beside Wangfujing Walking Street and also shopping malls around it. Definitely not an issue to shop and dine if you stay in this hotel. Within walking distance (approx. 15 mins) to Forbidden City. Room is nicely decorated, lighted and gave me a warm feeling like back home. Hilton staffs is also great, always smile and around to help the guests. Lobby is a bit dark or dim, should light up more. Overall experience is great & nice, one of the best hotel in Beijing city. Thumbs up and highlightly recommended.

The Park Plaza is an amazing hotel. It was reasonably expensive even for Chinese standards, but the expereicne was second to none. The room was origially a standard room but I was offered a room upgrade to a suite for a small extra charge. The suite room was AMAZING. huge bathroom and living room and bedroom. Close to all the major attractions including Wangfujing Street, Forbidden City and many many resturants and shopping centres. About 45 minutes taxi to the Indoor Skiiing slope.

We stayed here for a week in the summer. The deluxe room was very big, with desk and comfortable seating area. For China, the room had really fast internet. Breakfast (included in the price) was fine and had plenty of choice. We also tried dinner in the Chinese restaurant – very good. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful and arranged our Great Wall trip for us. The location is perfect. Metro stop just outside, and the hotel is in easy walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (with Jing Shan Park just behind), Wangfujing Street, and the excellent Beijing Dadong duck restaurant. The surrounding streets also had some great local, cheap eateries. We’ll definitely stay here again.

From the moment we walked in the door we knew this was the perfect choice. We were greeted by the manager Aref Sayegh. We received a nice surprise and were upgraded to a suite - #6513! All of the staff were extremely helpful - especially Anais Liu, who always greeted us with a smile. Once we checked into our beautiful room we also received some nuts and cookies! I would also highly recommend the breakfast! This is not something we normally do, but it was the best breakfast we had our entire stay in China! Kevin was amazing and also greeted us daily. The location is perfect and we were able to walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing Street. This is definitely the hotel to stay at when visiting Beijing!

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It is located within 5-8 mins walking distance to Wangfujing shopping street, about 15 mins walk to Wangfujing Subway station, 30 mins walk to the Forbidden City. It is convenient to find places to eat as well as convenient store for your needs. The Reception were fabulous and friendly with good command of English (as my wife didn't really understand Chinese). We were given a bigger room in a non-smoking floor (as we requested) although our reservation was for a standard room. It is just the room location has to be accessed through 2nd floor and up some stairs to the other wing of the hotel. The concierge staff who assisted us (Mr. Jack Zhang) was very friendly. As it was our first visit to Beijing, he recommended some places to visit & showed us how to go about. He even informed us the approximate taxi fare if to these places from the hotel. The buffet breakfast consist of western and asian choices which tasted quite nice. We also really appreciate the assistance of another concierge staff upon our check-out (we didn't really catch his full name, just manage to glimpse his name badge has a Zhang). He assisted in hailing a taxi in front of the hotel and help us to inform our destination to the taxi driver. It was a very pleasant stay and made our Beijing trip even more memorable. Thank you.

I found my stay at the Wangfujing Crowne Plaza to be an experience worth repeating. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and very quick with a warm smile! The staff in the restaurant/atrium where the breakfast buffet was served where especially attentive and quick to remember the customers from previous visits. Having stayed on the Club Level, the complimentary English language newspaper provided every morning was a nice touch to the already ample perks provided--complimentary Happy Hour drinks as well as continental breakfast served in the lounge, and beer & soda from the mini-bar in the room. The room was very modern, immaculately clean and had both a tub and shower stall with a great rain forest shower head!! The location was easily within walking distance of many of the main attractions, including the Forbidden City.

I wasn't expecting too much. Chose this because of its location, the history, ... and because it seemed like an interesting place. Turns out, I'd equate it to a boutique hotel. Room amenities included. Modern bathroom facilities with traditional room decor. A shared courtyard adds a nice touch. Although the restaurant is only open for breakfast,fab choices of food is just around the corner! Street food and lovely hole-in-the-walls offer delicious spreads. Forbidden City, Tiannemen Square and Wangfujing are within a 30 min walk. But the hotel offers complimentary private car shuttle to and from these venues. Staff are wonderful and very accommodating! Worth the stay.

Hotel Kapok was conveniently located to major attractions such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen square and the Wangfujing shopping street. However, we made the mistake of going to Beijing in Winter (As a Sydneysider I've never experienced such cold weather even when I went to the snows at Perisher). As such, it was a struggle to walk even 2 blocks after dark. For anything close by it wasn't easy finding legitimate metered cabs to take you back to the hotel as they didn't find it worth their time to take us back so we did a lot of walking in the cold. They have an underground subway system that is easy to figure out as everything is also in English but the closest subway to the hotel is in Wangfujing street and a 20 minute walk. Long story short, I really advise against going in Winter, unless you actually enjoy extremely cold weather. Getting the the hotel was difficult by taxi as this is a smaller, boutique hotel with an exterior that doesn't actually look like a hotel. We had to call the hotel so they could give instructions to the taxi driver, so make sure you have the hotel number on you. The reception was small but efficient with fast check-in and check-out. We stayed in room 2201 which was once the Chairman's room so there was an actual computer inside for use. This would have been great if the computer wasn't so slow, but it was still handy to have around. If you have a smartphone there's also free wifi in the rooms (with normal speed internet). Our room including the bathroom was lovely, spacious and modern, though we could hear the traffic from our room. Unfortunately, as it was Winter, the room was always around 14 degrees when we entered as the heat would turn off when we removed our card from the slot. And when you've been walking around freezing cold, It would have been great to come back to a warmer room, but we had to wait around half n hour for the room to get to 25 degrees. I'd stay it definitely lived up to its four star rating.

My friends and I had such a great time here! First off, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They were able to give us directions to everywhere we wanted to walk to (it's super close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square), called us taxis, told us the specific subway route and stops to take to get to the train station, and even reminded us to take our passports to the Forbidden City, which is not something we would've known to do. The rooms smaller than western-style hotels, but use the space efficiently, and the bathrooms are really nice - I loved their showerheads! We took advantage of the retractable clothesline in the bathroom to wash a few shirts and things - they provide laundry soap along with the other usual consumables like toothpaste and shampoo - and came back at the end of a long day of sightseeing to find that the staff had neatly folded our clothes for us once they'd dried! The breakfast spread is really good, and there's a lot of variety, so everyone should be able to find something they like. There's also a bar in the hotel, which we heartily took advantage of every evening. And although it's not usually something you look for in a hotel, I appreciated that they had souvenirs for sale in the lobby. They were a lot of the usual touristy things (fans, chopsticks, teacups, red lacquer bowls, figurines), but they were at totally reasonable prices. I bought a fan from them for 30 RMB that I later saw in a tourist-trap stall marked as 120! I doubt I would've been able to negotiate that low with my meager haggling skills. My only negative experience, and it has nothing to do with the hotel itself, was with finding a taxi to take us here when we first arrived in Beijing. It's down an alley, so one taxi didn't know where it was, and another just didn't want to drive there at all. It's only a short walk from the Dongsi subway station though, so I would suggest taking the subway here or, if you get a similarly uncooperative taxi driver, ask them to dro

Stayed here for 8 nights. Clean, nice and v safe hotel. Highly recommended for comfort. However, downside is a little far from WangFuJing, about 15mins walk. Nearest subway is DengKouShi 灯口市 station, at least a 10mins quick walk. Next nearest subway station is WangFuJing station, about 20mins walk. There is a little Family Mart right across the road. Next nearest eating area is at DengKouShi street, about 10mins walk. There are 庆丰包子，McDonald's and other cafes and eateries. I would definitely consider returning.

Stayed all over China this place is at the top of its price range. Not for the hotel or facilities. Location...subway around the corner key to traveling big cities in China. 4 of the biggest malls a block away. Forbidden city, T-square, and a hill for amazing views like 5mins west. The rooms are not huge nor impressive. But clean and spacious enough to be comfortable for the price. Good showers. TV. Decent beds. Drinking water which is actually so needed. Didn't try the menu or eat at the hotel restaurant why bother the streets are cheaper and food courts in the malls are actually very good quality. This place works as a safe, warm, and we'll priced place to drop bags explore the city and easily get home to a decent sleep

we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was good. the room toilet was clean and big. the hotel room was spacious but the door locked was broken which was not safe for us. therefore we requested a new room and immediately they changed to a new room and it was good as before but not as spacious as before. however, the stayed there was good. even the bed was a bit hard and the pillows were so thin but they gave 4 for double bed and extra blanket. the toilet was good, both toilets. the water flow from the shower was really good. they cleaned the room everyday. my husband left ipad on the table and we were out the whole day and when we were back only he realized he forgot to keep it and it was still on the table which is good. the receptionists at the hotel were friendly eventhough their english was not perfect but they were willing to help you for directions. however, the travel agent for day tour at the hotel lobby can speak perfect english and the travel agent for day trip around beijing at the hotel was good and cheap. we even asked the receptionist to get us a cab to the airport 80rmb. this hotel should be recommended because of its location and value for money. the location is a walking distance to forbidden city or you can take a bus number 82(across the street) to forbidden city and qianmen street the famous pedestrian street in beijing apart from wangfujing. (qianmen street would be the last station and as for forbidden city only one stop from the hotel). for muslim, exactly less than one minute walk from the hotel on your left would be a muslim restaurant called dong lai shun. behind dong lai shun (2blocks away) just walk straight, there's another small muslim shop from that street you can walk further down like less than 5minutes to wangfujing. you will find another muslim restaurant at wangfujing near mcd as you can see it from far. another muslim restaurant is exactly opposite hotel kapok. a lil further down if kapok on your left

This serviced apartment is located very close to Dongsi MRT (5 mins walk), there is a big department store across the street (note that it closes at 9:30pm), nice bakery and very clean local cafe at the corner of 2 big streets next to the MRT. There some minor issues like we had only 2 chairs in a quadruple room, but room itself is spacious, there is the washing machine, fridge, microwave. It can be difficult to find the place. There is no sign of the hotel, it is just the entrance of the office building. Big foyer with a plastic cherry blossoming tree inside. You shall call the apartment number indicated in your reservation form, they will come down to pick you up. Just be patient. Another standard issue in China is lack of English, communication is through translation apps. There is one lady Sharly, she speaks English and is very helpful, she can arrange tickets to Forbidden City and a car with a driver, we had a great day trip to the Wall. Special thanks for Sharly.

This hotel is easy to find (we travelled by airport express and subway - cheap, quick and interesting) and very close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The Grand Mercure has an impressive entrance and is welcoming and clean, with a really excellent bedroom (we were upgraded to Executive Suite on the 10th floor). The buffet dining has a wide range of Chinese and Western food on offer and the staff are friendly but could perhaps be a little more proactive. Service one evening was quite slow, but the food was very good. We arranged the trip to thye Great Wall in the hotel and it was really good. We would stay here again.

I went to Beijing to visit my son (23), who is studying there. I booked a twin room so that he could also stay if he wanted, which worked out perfectly. He said I should not have booked a hotel in a tourist area, because of the cost, but it was worth every penny! It was a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station (Tiananmen East), and the metro cost only TWOyuan(20p)per journey, but taxis were also very cheap (20 yuan or 2GBP to anywhere central, and 100 yuan or 10GBP to the airport). We walked to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, and to Wangfujing Street, and got the metro to everywhere else except the Great Wall(metro then bus). The hotel room was perfect, with comfortable beds and a big flat screen TV which doubled as a pc, so when we were exhausted at night from all the sightseeing (always LOTS of walking involved!) we could download movies in English and watch them from our beds! Our rooms were cleaned every day and used toiletries, bottled water, towels etc were replaced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Taxi drivers always found the hotel from the hotel card and I even rang the hotel during the day if I needed directions to other places from wherever I was! I recommend this hotel as a sanctuary to return to after a day in hectic Beijing. Lovely and warm in winter!
