Wangfujing Street & Forbidden City is the premier shopping and sightseeing district in Beijing. It was reworked more than a decade ago, and portions of it are only open to pedestrians. There are many hotels on Wangfujing Street, many of them operated in conjunction with two enormous shopping malls, Oriental Plaza and the Sun Dong An Plaza. The emphasis in hotels here is on comfort and convenience, and guests enjoy easy access to fashion boutiques, gift shops and fine restaurants.

While shopping is the key to Wangfujing’s success, the real focus of attention is immediately to the west. The Forbidden City proudly occupies a massive tract of land and, together with the Palace Museum, remains the most popular attraction for international and domestic tourists in Beijing. A few nearby luxury hotels feature unrivaled views of the Forbidden City. This is the also the geographical center of Beijing, surrounded by a network of six ring roads.

Business travelers also make use of accommodation near Wangfujing and the Forbidden City. Business offices are a part of the local landscape, and visitors are sure to notice modern buildings like CMC Markets, the Arts and Crafts Building, China Resources Building and the Division of Building.
