A lovely place to stay with a great pool and located within easy walk of the centre of the town. My only complaint was that it was really hot and the top floor had very little ventilation apart from opening the windows. Good to have off road parking gave me piece of mind, the common room and kitchen down stairs were huge and beautiful too.
Great value for shared bathroom room”
I enjoyed my stay at the Warkworth Lodge. The location is good, supermarkets, shops and the river in Warkworth are walkable from here, and it is next to the police station. Parking is available for those with cars. The room was small, but functional, Wi-Fi worked well all over the property, and the shower had hot water. The common room was spacious and comfortable. I did not use the swimming pool or other facilities outside. I would stay here again. 10/10
Fantastic old house with atmosphere!”
Great situation, very close to all amenities, decor lovely, very clean kitchen 😃
Clean, slightly shaky, room”
Went for the ‘economy’ room on the second floor, which was very hot until the staff sourced a fan for me. Happy with the room (although there is a vibration if a heavy truck goes by), but very happy with the fantastic kitchen and lounge and the friendly, helpful staff. Used the pool in the morning too. Overall, would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in Warkworth.
2 single saggy beds in a tiny room with a shared bathroom without any sink nearby! ”
Great shared living space and kitchen. Upper floor bedrooms were like a camp shack! Army beds would be more comfortable!
Good for a one or two night stop
All the fAcilities you need, friendly staff, a home from home sort of place. We wo7ld definitely go back.
I didn't stay there, when they told me that the little toilet in front of my tiny hot and sticky room is shared with all the other rooms on the floor and that they were fully booked, I just walked out. The room smelled funny, too hence the disappointment with the cleanliness. The staff on arrival didn't know that the payment had come out through the booking site (and I had forgotten) so I got charged again. The shared lounge and pool looked amazing but I needed a quiet night for the running event the next morning, one toilet for an entire floor - not good enough even for a low rate.
The perfect place to stay and rest”
The Lodge is fantastic. The two french girls working there are realy nice and know how to welcome travellers. The owner of the Lodge was vers helpfull. My english is not good enough to describe how much we love and will recommande that place to anyone who will arrive in New-Zeland. Thank you so much every one!
agoda advertising needs to be clearer on facilities provided by the lodge. We did not expect to have to share ablution facilities. On visiting the lodge's web site after the event I found that the services offered were outlined clearer than the agoda ad,
Beautiful old lodge, very clean and well equipped.
Staff were friendly, facilities were well maintained and clean and location was great. Nice stroll into town for a few deinks then down the road for dinner and then a nice slow stroll home for a spa! Was great!
We loved this lodge. Relaxing, convenient and comfortable. Great value and really friendly and helpful staff. Definitely be staying here again
Disappointed re bathroom”
very disappointed with bathroom upstairs from us, AND SHARED,..with several rooms/teams, and with shower OVER BATH so my wife could not access (both hips replaced) and bathroom busy when needed! No water basin in room. Very poor!
Shared facilities not stated”
They didn't say that facilities were shared. We had to share toilets, one bathroom, the kitchen. The kitchen had no proper knives to cut vegetables and fruits. They only had toothed small knives to "saw" through our vegetables, and even those weren't sharp at all.
Good old type of accomadation”
Was an over nite stay made very welcome would use again
The bed was toooo soft and I woke up the following morning with back pain
Lovely and Clean”
Comfortable, but walls are thin.
Road Trip 2015”
The place was lovely, it was just a little noisy as the walls were a bit thin.
Old world style and spotlessly clean”
We were originally booked for a room without ensuite (although I didn't realise that at the time of booking), but as that was already occupied we were upgraded to a room with ensuite for a fee. Although the Lodge was an "old world" type of accommodation I still think there was room for some updating in a few areas. The staff were accommodating and gave us some interesting places to visit. The town was within walking distance and was very picturesque although small but with a number of places to eat especially by the river.
