Friendly staff made this stay memorable”
I loved this hotel. It's in a quiet yet convenient location. Every staff member went out of their way to make you feel welcomed, printing off directions, giving a first timer to NY extra travel tips, and more. My room was upgraded without request. The room was a good size but most importantly in noisy NYC, it was very quiet with windows facing onto a secluded courtyard. The location was particularly convenient, close to Times Square, cafes and theatres as well as only a minute or two from a subway exit.
Good hotel, my room was new and smart and clean, and well cleaned every day. Lobby was nice and staff were good and friendly. Slightly run down decor in corridors but that didn’t bother me. No extra frills but very good at the Agoda discount which I got quite late.
Great location. Walking distance to Times Square and Central Park.”
Just a few steps away from the 50th Street Subway station. Staff is very helpful, good service. Room has all the basics you expect - I particularly liked the comfy bed. It seems the hotel is quite old but well maintained. I'll consider staying here again. Tip: You have to try Ippudo Ramen which is right across the hotel. There's also a 7 Eleven and Chinese takeout nearby along 8th Avenue.
Great location, Nice Hotel”
Great location, walking distance to Times Square and several theatres. Restaurants in the area, groceries and a near train subway. The room was comfortable - always cleaned by housekeeping. There's just no minibar - luckily it was pretty cold when I was there so I had to be resourceful and put my drinks(even chocolates) by the window. :D Staff were really nice. Only one elevator but luckily I was just on the 3rd floor so accessible by stairs. Good hotel for few nights stay!
It is a right choice to stay at JF hotel”
It is at average rate to stay in such expensive city. Convenient for you to go anywhere around NY with walking distance to MRT, Hop on Hop off tour, you can walk to Time Square, along Broadway. The Receptionists are very helpful
secret hidden quiet gem near broadway.”
LOVE IT. The rooms are small but you are in New York City and you are only there to sleep. Right? The only suggestion I would have upgrade if you can afford it. As a solo traveller I stayed in a standard room on a higher floor. The room size for one was perfect though the bathroom is small. Location is perfect. Near broadway and quiet.
Good for a busy person”
Check in and out, an efficient process. Staff also very nice. Most of all, you really can't beat the location. I was out all day but if people are used to personal amenities like coffee maker or a fridge, you will not be pleased. The room is small but you really can't find anything of this quality and convenience in NY for this price. The free wifi was also good. Room clean and bed comfortable, but the huge wall TV made the room look even smaller. All around, it met my needs.
New York hotels are very expensive. I was relieved when I came upon this hotel in my search and found that a room was available. I booked the cheapest room for a two night stay. I specifically requested for a room with twin beds. The staff granted my request. They were really nice and friendly. The room was really small but for the price that I paid, i'm not complaining. The location is really great. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
Location and Staff”
Agoda decided to have a tech glitch so my long review was deleted. Anyway, This was so close to the 1 train and the blue line! With convenience store and Ippudo Ramen within a stone's throw! Times Square, theaters, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance - including Central Park! The staff here are so nice! And we also got a lovely upgrade! The price is reasonable for New York and for its location. We'll definitely go back.
A very conveniently located hotel. ”
We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The Front Desk was very considerate giving us a complementary upgrade. These are the types of hotels that can really boost tourism in the area. More power and God Bless.
Excellent hotel in a great spot.”
We stayed three nights in New York at the Washington Jefferson. The lobby was nice, rooms (bathroom especially) were very nice. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room, but it was very comfortable, and excellent value. Would stay there again.
Excellent service from staff; accommodated us with an earlier checkin, which was much appreciated after a 26 hour travel! Perfect location; walking distance from most of the places that we wanted to visit. Close to a variety of restaurants. Lovely tree-lined street. Highly recommended.
Great location and fantastic staff. Highly recommend”
Cannot fault the staff that works here, absolutely helpful and friendly. Location is great, it isn't in the center of all the hype of Times Square but it is a reasonable walking distance. Very close to all metro stations, Times Square, great restaurants, shops and even the Central park. Area is very safe as well. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. The only issues I may add is there is no kettle, fridge, fan/ventilation in the bathroom and all the mirrors were in the bathroom as well so was a bit difficult to get ready in the morning if somebody is utilizing the bathroom. All in all, wonderful experience staying here and would stay here again and recommend people as well!
Location, location, location!”
Great value for money with its amazing location. Stayed for 3 nights in a Standard Room. Hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Times Square. Across the street was a very busy, Japanese noodle shop, Ippudo, and less than a block away was a Rite Aid, pharmacy and supermarket.
Recommended short stay”
Room very small, ensuite smallest ever. The door to the shower was very narrow so you had to turn sideways to get in. Rooms at the front can be noisy as the airconditioners have been installed in the windows and the side panels are not soundproofed so it sounds like the window is open. Good for a couple of nights if you want a room in the theatre district/Times Sq.
the tired looking washington Jefferson hotel”
I was a bit disappointed on arrival because of the rather drab appearance of the facility. it could use some renovation. even though I was upgraded to a suite, the room offered no amenities(no tea, coffee or even water). Staff did their best to be nice, but for a hotel with non restaurant, basic amenities should have bee provided in the room. luckily I did not need to spend much time in the room, it would have been quite depressing.
the worst hotel i ever stayed”
I was not good hotel the room are small and noisey can't even put my two bag in the room. When we check in the girl told me since we got 3 bags we should get bigger room which cost $60 more so we pay more to get "bigger room" but not big at all. I will never go back to that hotel
Just what we wanted a clean and comfortable place to lay our heads, with a decent location not too far from the action. The hotel is located just off hells kitchen with an abundance of eateries at the end of the street. A bonus is that the subway is at the other end of the street making getting to other areas of manhatten and new York easy. Would recommend the WJ to anyone
Location is excellent”
Basic room, king bed with a small ensuite. On check in the front desk staff were lovely. Went to room and both had cold showers... And air con very noisy. Went to desk and they were lovely again, sent a service man to my room, who arrived before I even made it back, super quick! He mentioned that the air con was actually very quiet.. ( can't imagine what noisy would be like to him then!) so nothing was done about that. We were so exhausted we slept ok anyway. The hot water he checked, and it was still running cold. He left saying he would return, which never happened, but the hot water did work after that. Bed was very comfortable and big. Room was clean. I did not eat there so gave a 3 for food. Overall, location is excellent staff were professional and friendly, but beware of aircon noise.
Clean room with noisy air conditioning you would trouble to sleep with it on. Bathroom a bit small (but who visits NYC to spend time in the bathroom). Wifi was adequate. Staff helpful and courteous. Best thing was location. Probably less than a half a mile from Times Square, but on a quiet street off 100 meters off the 9th Avenue. Also. Nice quiet (well I whenever I visited) bar about 50 meters away. No "in house" amenities (shame no in-house coffee, but in NYC you are never far from a coffee-shop). VFM? Hard to say given NYC prices, but I would have no hesitation to use again.
