We had a lovely stay. The room was spacious and clean, the views from the balcony were wonderful. Breakfast was delightful and the front desk attendant was so lovely. We left an ipad behind which they kept safe and shipped home to us. Loved our stay - thank you!

Not what you'd expect from a boutique hotel ”
Thanks Samuel for your kind assistance and for making sure we were okay during loadshedding. You are a great host and very helpful. The staff is not really trained in hospitality and needs to work on their presentation. The basics in the room is clean and prepared, we stayed in the family unit. Our towels weren't ready on arrival and the unit could really use a good deep cleaning. Cockroach in the kitchen cupboard. Freezer. Kettle. Behind and underneath furniture. Bath is stained. Have adequate koffie/tea/milk available in rooms for yor guests. Its what you would expect from a boutique hotel. Curtains needs attention. Curtains in sunroof needs cleaning. Shower door does not fit the shower. Just some overall upgrading is needed here and there, to bring it up to standard. Nevertheless, we slept comfortably in clean beds and had a nice warm shower and the surroundings are very peaceful. Nice to have breakfast included, but it was a bit of a disappointment, not enough food prepared on the cold buffet. Salt and pepper shakers not filled. Table not set adequately. Asked a few times for a couple of missing things, still waiting... it just looked like they weren't prepared at all.

Going downhill”
I stayed at this hotel 7 years ago. At the time, it was great. This time round, not so much. The location is still great and the place has a lot of potential. It looks tired and run-down. It might be an after effect of COVID because the SA tourism industry was hit very hard by COVID. We received threadbare towels with holes in them. There are many small maintenance and cleanliness issues. Examples are dirt behind a nightstand that we moved to get acces to an electrical outlet, curtains that were missing hooks, a broken sofa in our room, rickety dining room tables etc. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few twice and both times were not at the standard one would expect from a "boutique hotel". I sincerely hope they up their game, the place has a lot of potential. Will I stay there again? Probably not.

No hot water”
No hot water, so I could not shower. Coffee served with breakfast was also ice cold. Spa and other facilities were closed during winter. Breakfast was clearly heated in microwave as the omelette was rubbery. Staff were sleeping on the couch at 9pm when I went up to ask why there's no hot water. Issue was not resolved.

Upmarket and comfortable”
Most travellers will find very little to complain about - and rightly so - when checking in to this guest house. However, I was slightly irked by two things: the lack of parking on the premises for my vehicle, despite the fact that I was given every assurance that it was secure outside the property, and, secondly, the road noise from the highway that is nearby. The latter is a function of the particular room one is assigned, and may not be applicable in all cases. I hasten to add that the noise is not too intrusive but I am particularly sensitive to sounds. It must be said, though, that this is an establishment that I will continue visiting as it is simply enjoyable.

This hotel was above my budget but we decided to splurge and treat ourselves. I was disappointed. Perhaps the top end rooms are good. The one I was in was small and cramped because of having furniture appropriate for a much bigger room. Breakfast service was unnecessarily slow. The coffee machine kept needing the drip tray emptied, coffee beans replenished, water replenished, milk replenished - that was ultimately quite irritating. The coffee when it came was good though. For the room we had, I think it was overpriced. We could have got better elsewhere for much less. I won't be returning.

Beautiful place, great service and delicious food (both breakfast and dinner). The black (forgot his name) receptionist was just so friendly and welcoming. Disappointed with the sheets, weren't clean and fresh for a new guest. The bathroom floor towel also wasn't clean. Providing rechargeable lamps would be great when there's power cuts since the generator was over heating. Ooh I loved their garden.

Surely not good value ”
Located close to N4 High Way thus very very noisey traffic 24/7. No plugs in bathroom for shaver. Showerhead on bathtub broken. Plugs and wiring runs from TV and Decoder ro the floor is a sight for sore eyes. No Dropbox to leave keys and remote control when leaving early morning. No security on duty late night or early morning

Poorly maintained property. Broken bed, broken bedside table, no door to bathroom, shower drain blocked, broken glass shards on balcony. Smelly bathroom. Bedroom has skylights so sun wakes you up early.
