Kangaroo Island at its best”
We stayed 3 full days in Waves and Wildlife Cottages and we loved it! The cottages are located in a beautiful, remote spot, with views of the Stokes Bay (breathtaking) and surrounded by fields where plenty of kangaroos are grazing. We also had a possum come and visit our veranda on two nights. Just this very close encounter with the wildlife would make this place fantastic. But on top, the cottage was very comfortable. It was very clean, with fairly modern bathroom and great living area (with a view). The bed was one of the most comfortable I have had during our long travels. I cannot not mention the great welcome we received on our arrival. Everything was beautifully organized, even though we arrived late and there was no staff on premises. The cottage was awaiting and in it a bottle of red wine, a small jar of local honey and even chocolates. If we visit again (as we hope we would), we will certainly come to the same place!

Perfect place in Kangaroo Island”
Waves and Wildlife Cottages lives up to the name of the island as we were greeted by kangaroos on arrival and plenty of kangaroos roam around the cottage as we wake up in the morning till night. The view, especially from the balcony, is magnificent and relaxing. There is a nice walk up the hill or down to the beach. The owners were very helpful in guiding us with directions to the place and providing helpful hints on the island. A welcome note in the cottage on our arrival was very pleasing. The accommodation was neat and tidy, and has all we needed for the stay. Overall, this place was great and highly recommended. My family would love to come back.

Outstanding stay, would definitely stay here again”
Booked on a friend's recommendation and could not thank them enough for the suggestion. Greeted outside by a family of kangaroos looking guilty. Greeted inside with a hand-written welcome note, jar of local pure honey, bottle of wine, and pillow chocolates. Sunsets each night over Stokes Bay and starry nights except for the last day when it rained. Lots of room in the 3-bedroom (Master with queen, 2nd bedroom with double, 3rd bedroom with 2 twins). Staff returned our call within minutes of leaving a message when we the toaster tripped a breaker and we couldn't find the box to reset it (if we had read the detailed binder we would have found the answer). They left us a new toaster the next day. Fairly remote location (20 mins to nearest town with gas, grocery, and laundry, 40 mins to Kingscote) so just keep that in mind to plan your day-trips especially if you have a hired car with mileage limits. No laundry and internet so keep that in mind. We had Optus prepaid and had no service. It is possible another carrier would work but maybe not. However, we felt that's the price you pay for pristine remoteness which is what we were after and what we will remember. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to anyone who likes looking at stunning ocean/sunset views and a ton of wild but friendly kangaroos.

Loved our stay here”
We stayed at Waves and Wildlife for a week and loved it. The best part was in the early evening when all the kangaroos were about. I loved to sit on the porch and watch them. We also cooked all of our breakfasts and most of our dinners as it's all self contained.... it's not cheap eating out on the island. I would highly recommend staying here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Amazing place to stay at”
Wow. Just wow. What an amazing place to stay at in Kangaroo Island. The breathtaking views, the gorgeous sunset, being able to get up close with the kangaroos/wallabies...on top of that, the cottage we stayed in was clean, cosy, spacious, and had everything we required and more. Perfect place for to relax and unwind in a delightful environment. Would definitely go back again.

Kangaroo heaven”
Location is beautiful. Kangaroo colony is living there and there is the beautiful stokes bay beach just in front of the house. The bed was comfy. A dishwasher and some new cooking pots would be great.

It's amazing place. Wild kangaroos everywhere around our cottage. Fantastic view with sea and sunset. The Paul's (the owner of the cottages) are really warm-hearted and treat us really nice. This is the place I'll defiantly come again. The days staying there are like dream.

Could have stayed longer...”
What a magic place. Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful. We unfortunately didn't plan to stay longer the the 2 nights, which we regret. We only had 2 dos which we spent at Remarkable Rocks & Admirals Arch in Flinders Chase NP, then the following day at Seal Bay and the Raptor Place (the raptor show is just awesome btw). The cottage was very comfortable and Paul was an amazingly obliging host, whenever we rang for help. Supplied with essentials and they were very nice to allow us a late checkout. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing views and sunsets. Gorgeous kangaroos and birds. Nature all around. Total tranquility and Katja & Paul made our stay comfortable. Clean, well-equipped cottage was everything we needed for a long weekend away in the wilderness. Definitely recommend!

Exceptional”
Great cottage in a remote area. Just a reminder, there is NO air conditioning, we knew that when we booked, as it is not listed on the property's page. This is ok for average days, but if you are unlucky enough (like us) to get there and it is above 40 degrees Celsius, not so great! At above 40, the cottage is hot during the day and night! (hard to sleep). Time to head to the nearby beach to cool off!!. The owners are not onsite but issues are sorted out via a phone call or leaving a message. Overall we had a pleasant experience with our stay.

Awesome views, privacy, wildlife, and hospitality”
We stayed here in July 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We go to see kangaroo mums feed their joeys right in front of our cottage! The owners are gracious and we would be happy to stay here again.

It's very remote but how can you beat a cliffside cottage overlooking the ocean with wild kangaroos an wallabies right outside your door. The beach is stunning.

What could be better than whiling away the hours watching wallabies, Roos and the odd possum on a warm summer evening listening to the waves on the beach below. Paul gave us some top tips for koala and wallaby spotting and some gorgeous beaches to explore. Would loved to have stayed longer! Facilities excellent.

Definitely recommend staying here. Room could have used a little maintenance. Kitchen tap leaked, pots and pans needed a good scrub and the pepper was empty. Apart from that we had a lovely stay.
