Fantastic hotel”
We had a wonderful time at the Fernhills Royal Palace. The hotel itself is a spectacular colonial-era British manor house where you can really feel the history of the place, and the grounds and buildings just beg to be explored! Rooms were enormous, and views were spectacular. Staff was very helpful as well. This was without a doubt the best part of our stay in Ooty.

Very disappointing”
Fernhills Palace looks beautiful in the photos but it was not nearly what I expected from the reviews. The electricity went out over 10 times during our 1 night stay. The "bar" had only beer and wine and there was no bar tender. The whole place was so cold and hot water for showers was limited. Wifi was only available in the lobby. Its a beautiful property but no one is maximizing the potential of it and there are few staff members to make it feel like its a functioning hotel. There was a tennis court which was inoperable. The staff was nice and food ok but they need to beef up the staff presence and get everything operating so it feels lively and people actually want to stay there vs take the long trek into town to do anything. It felt very isolated.

the rooms were big
the stay was ok. We really don't think we will ever go there. The big room and no heaters. It was over all a very bad experience

Fascinating Stay”
Its history, our room, the grounds and the building
We really relaxed in the amazing atmosphere of the palace. However we were very disappointed our breakfast was not included. We had dinner each night which was fine. Staff lovely. Reception excellent and very helpful. However our shower doors required replacing. One just closed. The other door was totally broken and nearly falling off and unusable. The first day the water wasn't hot enough at 7PM to have a bath or shower. We did enjoy our stay. Thank you to all the staff.

a wonderful experience”
1. the building was amazing. 2. the food was really excellent. 3. the rooms were spectacular
We really enjoyed our two nights here, what an amazing place. Built in the 1870s as the Maharaja's summer palace, the building now offers top class accommodation on the southern outskirts of Ooty. The building is amazing and steeped in history - the corridors are plastered with old photos and paintings, canons guard the entrance and there are extensive grounds. When we were there we were the only guests so we ordered from the impressive menu with some trepidation, but the food was really excellent. The rooms were huge, clean and luxurious. We were even brought hot water bottles each night! The staff were great. It was really fabulous here, highly recommended.

It was nice trip and A1 arrangements done in the hotel. Full marks for coordination and arrangements done during our stay. I will definitely recommend Fernhill Welcome Heritage Ooty if somebody asks me for a trip.

Fantastic location, good service, not much clean”
Location and hospitality
It's located in fantastic landscape of Ooty. Very expensive but worth for your money. I stayed with my family and they enjoyed this place very much. The service and hospitality was very good. Rooms are spacious with full facility. We got very royal service and the hotel made us to feel like Royal Family. You can enjoy your summer trip without visiting anywhere in the Ooty. It's really a Great place and gave us great feelings during our stay. My kids are always talking about this hotel now and then. The best place to stay with family in Ooty.
