Perfect weekend in NYC”
we loved the wellington. it was so close to the subway, it made it so convenient to get around. in the immediate vicinity of the hotel is ample restaurants and pubs. great pastrami sandwich across the street at the benash, but be forewarned, they are ridiculous on all of their prices, even by new york standards! over all the stay was great, room as pictured, comfortable, well located. did not try the hotel restaurant, so no feedback there. only complaints... no ice on floors, had to go to lobby and get help from staff for ice and the elevators are terribly slow. otherwise, great stay, i'll stay again when in nyc for the weekend.

New York sightseeing”
This hotel is close to lots of attractions, several metro stations, and is easy to get to from JFK via air train and subway. The doorman will hail a cab for you if want one. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the rooms were clean, nicely furnished and comfortable. The maids always made sure there were plenty of toiletries and towels. No kettles in the room so i took my own. There are plenty of cafes etc in the street. My daughter and I had a great time in New York and the Wellington played it's part! Great value for money and would recommend . Would definitely stay again

Wow! Best location for convenience to Central Park & Times Square ”
10+days in Midtown so my daughter could attend a dance Convention @ Sheraton, only 4 minutes to walk there, straight down 7th. I paid $600 less here than their rate, basically needed that for food all week. Staff, especially the bellman were SO helpful, we were always greeted upon entering this beautiful lobby, 3 elevators running & never waited long. Not So at Sheraton where people sat around on floors waiting up to 20 minutes on elevators. Having the Diner/restaurant on main floor made odd eating hours a pleasure! Huge variety on menu, also Subway right next door offered a familiar taste of home, Open 24 hrs. AND FREE COFFEE with a breakfast sandwich purchase (yep, in NYC), Starbucks across street, Dunkin Donuts across next block, Stagecoach rest., Deli & cafes offer open hot bars. We ate at a different place every day and Truly enjoyed the options only steps away! On Sunday, there's 7 churches within a 10 minute walk, THANKS LORD, for your provision. DEFINITELY a Wellington FAN!

great location”
i spent hours searching agoda for a reasonable rate for my 3 nights in nyc. the wellington hotel suited my needs perfectly as a single female traveller (safe, safe, safe) and first timer to nyc. the location was central to everywhere i wanted to go so i walked and absorbed the atmosphere. the wellington is an older hotel but beautifully maintained with all the facilities i expected. the staff were all very efficient and courteous and made my short vacation in nyc an enjoyable experience, and i'll return.

Simply splendid”
Being the first time in NY, Wellington Hotel presented an excellent stay for my time there. It is centrally located and offers competitive rates. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Hotel staff are attentive and very friendly. Wifi is an issue though but it will depend on which room you are in, leeching is sometimes possible ;) Overall recommended for families and business travellers

First Hotel Stay in NY City”
I titled my review in a way that shows I am not an experienced traveler when it comes to NY. I just want to keep things in the proper perspective. Pros: Excellent staff at the reception desk and the bellman station. Room very clean, and the climate control system fine. Noise within the hotel almost completely undetectable - - a nice surprise. TV with lots of cable stations available was very good. Bed was excellent. Cons: Room was somewhat of a tight squeeze, but I understand the space premium is very high in NY; to be clear, it was not uncomfortable, but it begged for a bit more breathing room. Maid did not speak English (she was Polish, and a delight otherwise). Noise from the street was significant despite my being on the 17th floor, but it did disappear after midnight. Shower good, but again a tight fit. Water flow in the sink was very low, and controlling the water temperature almost impossible, i.e., you get either cold or blistering hot water, but not much in-between. Overall, a more than acceptable accommodation in a very good city location.

Fantastic hotel in great location ”
Appreciated the welcome we received on check in. We were so excited to receive an upgrade to a beautiful suite with the cutest balcony which we enjoyed for the week we were in New York. Beautifully comfortable beds and spotlessly clean room. We also appreciated the kindness of security and housekeeping staff when I was ill during our stay. Thankyou for making my daughters first trip to New York such a special one !

Location Location Location ”
The Wellington was amazing however you are paying more for the name and location more than anything. I say that because for such a high quality hotel the little things like the iron were cheap. It is not a bad thing, it was simply not my expectation for such a nice place. The temperature on the water for the shower was also off. It was either sauna hot or freezer room cold, very hard to find a bearable temperature. Other than the little things, it was perfect. The beds were a definite plus. They are large and SUPER comfortable.

Great stay”
Wonderfuly stay. The convenience of location for moving all over New York City is worth every penny. From the bellmen, front desk personnel to the floor attendants the staff was uniformly friendly and courteous. I had requested non-smoking room and since there were none available at the rate I booked they upgraded me without a moments hesitation. Room was quiet and the noise of the city was extremely muted. I will definitely stay at the hotel again.

Perfect for a weekend in New York!”
The hotel is well located at 55th and 7th Avenue with the N,Q,R subway station entrance right at the side door of the hotel, you literally step outside, turn right and walk down the steps to the subway. Only two blocks south on 7th Avenue is another subways station, so it's very convenient to stay at the Wellington. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy for the double double, but the arrangement was great, two separate rooms and two bathrooms, worked for our situation perfectly! Will definitely use the Wellington again!

This is my second visit to New York and stayed at the Wellington both times.”
Hotel staff are courteous and caring, particularly the porters, who are always on hand to assist. The hotel itself is basic, and the rooms comfortable and clean. No problem whatsoever. Should I return to the city, will definitely stay at the Wellington again. Not only because it's so central to everything required, it now feels like my US home from home

Good Value for the Price”
For the price, this is my hotel of choice in NYC; extremely convenient; room was a bit rundown, but very acceptable/high value for price and bathroom very clean; Internet remains an issue with this hotel but outside tech line can help though problem recurs; flat screen TV nice; fantastic location few blocks south of Central Park and west of 5th Ave for Lincoln Center, etc access yet close to 5th Ave shops and superb for business access

Very good”
Our daughter had to perform at Carnegie Hall in March, and we must say Wellington is the best choice. We would recommend it to anyone who has a performance at Carnegie Hall. In our case, mid-March, it was snowing and bitterly cold. My daughter has to wear a gown and walk to the Hall. Luckily, it took us only 2-3 minutes. Other kids suffered more longer walk or those who used taxi arrived late due to bad traffic caused by snow. Wellington was very convenient as we had to be at the hall few times a day for rehearsals and concert. We walked back to rest at the hotel, while other people had to wait in some cafes for few hours between rehearsals and concert. We couldn't be happier with location and price!!! It also close to most attractions. The room was very cozy with good comfy mattresses. The hotel is more than 100 years old. The only problem we had was water leaking down from bathroom ceiling (tub area), but help came immediately, and it was fixed within 15 minutes.

short stay in new york city”
my daughter and i just finished a 3 night stay at the Wellington hotel. The location was excellent, close to many attractions. The staff, from the housekeeping staff, bellboys and concierge , were all friendly, helpful and smiling. Two small, somewhat minor negative aspects: the lobby was air conditioned to the freezing point, second, for people with a lot of baggage -the rooms are not big and there is little room for the bags. ours were on the floor, leaving little room to walk ! Despite these two pooints i would gladly return!

Great location, friendly staff, good value for money”
This hotel is located in the middle of everything. Few steps from the park and a few from Times Square. Walking distance to everything in Midtown. Train stop right there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was small but it worked for us. Although the hotel is classic and 100 years old is clean and safe. Would stay here again.

Our stay was pleasant with no susurprises.”
The hotel was as expected from other reviews. On arrival there was no disappointments or expectations other than advertised. it was easy to find and get around NY from the hotel. A stones throw from Times Square. The only thing that lacked was elevators. Travelers need to be aware that this hotel uses stairs only so make sure you don't have heavy or lots of luggage.
