"not too far from the strip (10min walk at most); the casino is always quite well attended. As it is not on the strip there is not a horde of tourists just strolling through it but the people who are there are actually there either to play or to drink. the swimming pool area is also very nice, the only hotel having a better pool is probably the hard rock hotel (but again this is for a general younger audience). the voodoo club on top of the roof is excellent - the views are the best of las vegas strip, also better than from stratosphere (not as high bit closer to strip). many bice chicks (who actually also stay in the hotel) if one would be interested in this :) one floor below the club is a pricy restaurant (as always quality costs something). the buffet on the casino floor (breakfast and lunch) is huge and very good. the rooms are OK; my room on the 5th did not have a flatscreen TV, but hey, who cares - you're not in Vegas to watch TV right?! overall I can recommend it. "Cons-looked NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE PHOTOS WHATSOEVER, definitely edited or photoshopped the lobby and rooms look nothing like this. Old property. Very old. Did I mention it looks nothing like this at all Pros-THE ENTIRE STAFF is AMAZING! Very kind, respectful, helpful. It has a washer and dryer in the laundry space for reasonable amount. Quiet. Has a pool though its small and the photo is misleading lol you’ll see when you get there. So basically the pros are the staff. And they have a fridge and microwave which is a rare find near the strip. No pest issues. No odors. Its a tiny dive but tolerable could use a real makeover. Rates are reasonable off season and weekdays. Oh yeah and the staff rocks!"

"I really enjoy staying at The Palms because of its location. I love the fact that it is off of the strip. It feels exclusive and less congested. I've stayed at The Palms twice. The summertime is great. They have great pool parties. They also have great lounges like Moon. I recently stayed for my birthday in the winter and it was a different experience. It was a romantic getaway. All of the staff were welcoming. We didn't make much use of the pool but we enjoyed our room and the new decor. The room was amazing and very clean. It felt like our condo for the weekend. Not to mention the pricing was surprisingly cheap. There is complimetary valet parking, a shuttle that goes to the strip, and a small casino that you won't get lost in. I will be back for sure, but this time to get a tan and party at the infamous pool parties! To sum this all up....great room, great service, nice location, cool lounges/bars, and great price = a regular Palms customer."

"The second I stepped in was greeted by employee, you can't beat the shuttle service that will take you to the center of the strip. The kitchen with full dishset full fridge was awesome! Recommend it if you don't mind driving or taking the shuttle. Papa Johns, wing stop, Starbucks are all walking distance to the hotel!"

"Clean rooms. Cool modern feel to them with nice large windows with good views. Gym and pool facilities are nice. A shuttle is available every 30 minutes that will take you to Ceaser's Palace leaving you at the heart of the strip. Good service from the employees in general here. Free parking is a nice thing too."

"This hotel was quite nice. I enjoyed the more laid back feel as compared to the strip properties. Drinks and food were reasonably priced and you didn’t have to sell kids to afford alcoholic beverages at the pool. The pool stayed open until 9:00 instead of the usual 4:00/5:00 closing time at strip hotels. If you’re a younger “party animal”, this probably isn’t the spot for you, but otherwise I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Vegas. Only con is that the free shuttle drops off at Fashion Place mall which is too far down the strip to really walk to any of the places you’d want to be at on the strip. If they could add or change the shuttle stop to be closer to the center of the strip, it would certainly raise my review even higher. Free parking and valet service was great though. All in all an A+ property. "

"Off the strip, but centrally located for our shopping trips. You can see the age of The building and rooms. The food was excellent! The room was nice with comfortable beds. The shower, however left a lot to be desired. Hot was cold, cold was hot and there was no happy medium. At least there was hot water. The staff was friendly, especially the valets. The casino was large and there is a no smoking area which was nice. We didn't go, but heard the buffet was great. We'd stay there again. "

"I stayed here one night because it was the cheapest option closest to the airport. I was a little surprised when I was in the middle of doing something in my room and a guy walked in. Apparently he had been the occupant of the room before I arrived but there was some confusion with his check out day and they have removed all this stuff. Apparently he's key still works because he walked right into my room! To say it was a little alarmed was it an understatement. I went directly down with him and get the situation taken care of but I didn't feel comfortable in the room for the rest of the night even with a lock on. Otherwise it's your standard. Motel that will do the job for a night but I just couldn't really vouch for the security of the place. It just felt a little rough around the area"

"Don't pay double if not more than treble the cost of a hotel room on the Las Vegas strip..!!! We have stayed here twice now, No it's not as modern as the Bellagio or the Venetian, No it's not directly on the strip (but is within a 10 minute walk or use the FREE shuttle bus service), No it's not full of young rowdy hen or bachelor parties, However, it's also not double or triple the price to stay here, Yes it's nice and quiet, Yes everyone is friendly, Yes they have a 24 hour TGI Friday's, Yes they have an all you can eat buffet 3 times a day ( Breakfast only $9.99 plus tax each) COMPARED TO $25 TO $40 each on the strip.....come on people, it's a perfect base and relaxing hotel with the costs or the hassle of being so close to the strip."

"Quite a good place to stay provided you are not keen to be 'on' the strip. The hotel has undergone a recent renovation so it doesn't feel dated. The dining table and chairs were thankfully from a few decades back and felt supremely sturdy and comfortable like good old 'back in the day' stuff. Most rooms do not have mini bar or refrigerator but the hotel was kind enough to have one sent over for us to store baby food. We had the Premium King room on 15th floor and the view of the city was amazing. For food, there is the Brass and Fork restaurant ; though the Feast buffet is the ideal bargain given the excellent taste, huge selection and reasonable price. The access to the feast buffet is however only through the casino and since smoking is allowed inside, you do need to rush past the slot machines and roulette tables if you have a child with you or else risk exposing your baby to second hand cigarette smoke! An alternate access to the buffet would have been great. Also, the location is awesome if you intend to visit places outside Vegas as you are minutes from the ramp and exit. Covered parking is in abundance, valet parking is available too. Definitely worth the money and certainly would recommend it to others."
