Where to stay in White Town / French Colony
White Town / French Colony hotels & accommodations

Visiting Pondicherry was in my bucket list. and we wanted to play tourists to the hilt. Exploring the French colony was one of them. The options of staying in the isolated area with private beach didn't appeal and we were on look out for something that would give us top class treatment and in the middle of white town. Promenade fitted the bill. And we did not regret it...

Great room, and even the restaurant has amazing food. Great location in the center of White Town and walking distance to the beach and attraction points in White Town/Pondicherry. Staff is friendly as well, and the hotel is flexible and helpful with checkin/checkout

I had stayed here in July 2nd weekend. The Staffs are very well trained and very hospitable. Really love this place. The rooms are very neat and tidy. If you are looking to stay in White town in pondicherry and not very particular about beach view, this is best place to stay. The restaurant here is awesome! Excellent food. This place is just few mins walk from the beac...

The hotel is well located in white town and close to beach road. Room is quite small but it is enough to sleep. Both room & bathroom are cleaned. For our rooms, it was quite noisy. People are available for any issue and act very fast. The restaurant is excellent. The food is totally amazing and delicious !!! But service must be improved : it took long time to be served...

The hotel was a great find and we were very pleased by the accommodation, friendly service, and ideal location for seeing the sights in White Town. The rooftop terrace restaurant in the evenings with a cool breeze off the sea was the highlight for us with excellent food at reasonable prices. The only downside is the room was a bit noisy in the early morning from hon...

This is a large french style villa converted to a modern boutique hotel. We stayed in the "North Side Story" room which is situated on the first floor next to the well maintained pool. The room was well maintained and we had our own balcony which had a lot of creeper plants handing from the top along with some other plants and small palm trees inside. The balcony has t...

My stay at Richmond was the highlight of my holiday @ Pondicherry. Richmond is situated bang in the middle of the French colony and it is at a walking distance from every local sightseeing attraction. You can soak up the local culture just by walking the lanes around the hotel. The hotel staff was very attentive and friendly and they had easy and flexible check-in and ...

The hotel is located in white town facing the ocean. The location is great. It is very near to Arbindo ashram, Gandhi statue, French War memorial, Auro Beach. The staff is very friendly and will try their best to make your stay memorable. We stayed for a day there. My special thanks to Mr. Rajesh for answering all our queries and help.

Very close to rock beach, french colony, aurobindo ashram, kind of equidistant from auroville beach n paradise beach. Sea view rooms are not worth as they r not sea facing, only the balcony will have a side view of sea, i m happy i didn't pay extra for that. sea is so near i could just walk 10 secs to get the proper sea view. Overall it is worth.

The look and feel of the hotel is pretty great. It is pretty much a restored old French villa which is maintained exceptionally well. The rooms have a touch of colonial French feel to it. The hotel is right on the main beach in Pondy and located at an ideal place for a stroll out on the beach or a walk along the streets of the heritage town. Stay was quite comfortable ...

Excellent reception / lounge area in well restored Tamil house with antique furniture & super tiled flooring. Two super delux rooms are excellent, well worth it, Two delux rooms are also good bu beware, three rooms are on two floors, small living space downstairs & small bedroom upstairs, Rooms are cramped because of stairs within, so avoid these. My main complaint i...

We spent one month in India, mostly in the South, and Maison Perumal is so far the best hotel we had the chance to stay in. Amazing crew, really helpful ; lovely rooms ; great food freshly and daily made (including breakfast) ; possibility to use for free the swimming pool of the 'sister hotel' Palais de Mahé located in the French quarter or to book some Ayurvedic mass...

Good French style hotel with nice and clean rooms. Good location – in the heart of White town, close to Promenade and nearby several restaurants, etc. Staff guy was unobtrusive but kind, he gave us lot of useful information. He arranged a taxi from Pondi to Chennai airport for a good price (2900 rupee) which was much cheaper than we got from Chennai to Pondi. We defini...

A beautiful hotel right in the heart of White Town. If you wish to have a proper French experience in Pondicherry this is a good choice since the hotel is actually a 150-year old Franco-Indian architecture. The beach is just a few kilometres away. Bike can be rented in the next street for a very cheap price. Both French and Indian restaurants are nearby. All other tour...

Excellently located property, staffs need to be a bit more polished in profession. Entrance gate to be managed better, especially the errant 2 wheelers placed at entry point in evening time. My intent was to stay in a hotel close to the beach and White town. The white town is poorly maintained and is a disappointment. Dilapidated building and poorly maintained roads. The beach is nothing but a sea front road and pedestrian path. Very crowded in the weekend. Over Pondicherry is a disappointment and not worthy of a second visit. There are more beach options ...

We arrived at around 10.30 on the 10/1. The place is a little difficult to find as the entrance is only accessible by one of the small side streets. If you want a taste of bad service, please come here. To give a fair review, the location is not bad and the place is clean. The hotel HAS NO RESTAURANT, so AGODA PLEASE WAKE UP. We booked and paid for a room in advance for two nights but were told on arrival we had no booking. We were tired and my partner was not feeling too well after our journey. I had to have hysterics and be demanding before they finally gave us a room. We were glad to leave the place.
