      Very homey”

I booked this hotel for my Mother and some other family members. According to Her, the hotel is very comfortable, as the name implies, really like being in our own house. The owner is very kind and welcome. The location of the hotel is also very good as it is near foodsellers. In this hotel, we are also allowed to wash and dry clothes by ourselves, and it provided a special place for those activities.

      Location, Budget and Friendly Staff”

      Location, Budget and Friendly Staff

Pro – Very good location; in front of river front and easy to access to Plaza Merdeka, museum, old street (road behind), main road and bus station (if you would like to get a taxi to AP or bus to other places). Room is not typical dorm however it is a triple beds room and it beds sharing concept. 24 hours coffee and tea and bread flows and kitchen if you want to make your own meals. Comfortable living room area and the best part is this hotel interior is oldies Chinese house (LOVE IT). And the best part is very helpful and friendly staff (forgot to get his name). Generally is it a very comfortable and pleasant stay among all the guesthouse I stayed in Kuching (highly recommended). Cons – Room is not bright enough as supported by one mentol lamp. Hope for the room brightness improvement. Power plug shall install on each bed or least at the general area such as side of the door because other guest unable to utilized the power plug as 3 of it at the side of the end corner bed. Taxi from AP go and back is RM 26.00 per cab. If you are solo you may try to get Mini Van to Tune Hotel at the car rental corner, however they charged RM 20.00 for a person (min is 2 person, hence single or 2 person they charged RM 20.00) from there you can direct the driver send to your hotel if the location not far from Tune Hotel. Or you could get taxi to Kch Sentral and take bus to the city (not sure how much). If you decided to take bus to Bako or National Park, you mau refer the location where is the bus station (it is in front of open market and you can get guide from the friendly staff).

Location and Value make a Winner !”

      Location, Value, Friendliness

Location is prime ! Value is quite good! Staff are friendly-- whether it's giving directions to near-by National Park and Tourism offices, advising which buss to take to the weekend market across the river, or directions for Top Spot, a local seafood ( and veggies and fruits) food court. The value is Good. The beds are comfortable, the toilets and showers are cleaned somewhat regularly. The 'breakfast' is bread, PNB, Kaya; coffee and tea are always available. Local food vendors, food courts, cafes, restaurants, souvenir vendors, and a shopping mall are all within close walking distance. Wo Jia Lodge is a good choice for fellow budget travelers.

Location, Staff Friendliness, and Cleanliness are ”

      Location, Value, Cleanliness

Wo Jia Lodge has a great central location, close to restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and shopping. The Tourism and National Parks offices are within walking distance, as are the Post Office, several Museums, and Temples. There are local food and souvenir vendors along Main Bazaar, Jalan India and Gambir, and around the bus terminal, all within walking distance. The local and regional buses are great for visiting the Parks, shopping mall, and cinemas, and weekend market (across the river). The rooms at Wo Jia Lodge are small yet of a comfortable size. The downfall is that the walls are definitely paper-thin ! The toilets and showers are cleaned regularly, the bed linens are fresh and clean. The beds are comfortable! There are dorm rooms, twins, doubles, and a family room. The staff are friendly, and readily give directions to the local sights. If anything in the Lodge needs tending (fresh toilet paper, burned light bulb), the staff do respond in a timely manner. I recommend Wo Jia Lodge to fellow budget travelers.

A little effort goes a long way !”

      lCleanliness, Location, Staff Friendliness

I am a repeat guest at Wo Jia Lodge -- because it has a fantastic location, it is clean, and the staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. If there is anything amiss--from needed toilet paper, to a missing light bulb, or a leaky faucet--one of the staff, a great maintenance guy, will attend to it right away! The staff are always ready to help with directions, to recommend a place to eat, which National Park to go to, or help with transportation questions. The Tourism and National Parks office are close-by, as is the newest shopping mall, the Post Office, and the Textile Museum. The Riverfront Esplanade, almost a kilometer long, is just across the street of Main Bazaar--which is a stretch of friendly, colorful, active convenience stores, a couple hotel and guesthouses, souvenirs, a bank, and local handicraft shops. There are many cafes, bars, restaurants, and food vendors in the area. I definitely recommend Wo Jia lodge to budget travelers in Kuching!

      Basic hostel. ”

      Infront of Kuching waterfront.

Stayed at Wo Jia Lodge in a group of 10ppl. It's very basic lodge/hostel. facing the waterfront so its walking distance to good restaurants, bars & pubs. I stayed in Queen Fan room so it does feel hot during the day so we just nap at the living room instead, need to bring our own towel and hairdryer as it's not provided, shared toilet/bathroom and very helpful receptionist. Some of the room were dirty and dusty, so some of my friends cancel their stay and moved to another hostel which was a lot better!

      Great stay in kuching!!!”

Very friendly staff, the airconditioned social room where you can watch movies and have a chill lounge area, cheap and located centrally!!

We first stayed at another hostel, but switched to Wo Jia Lodge. Best decision ever! Its centrally located and it is super value for the money you are paying. The room we had was pretty cool for a fan room (no window) in kuching. The shared showers & toilets were nice and clean. The thing I liked most was the social area combined with the friendly staff. Social area is a big living room with aircon, pillowseats with tables and couches on which you can lay down to enjoy one of the hundreds of movies they had on dvd. The staff will help you with anything and is genuinely interested in your holiday by giving advice and asking how your day has been. All and all we had a really great and pleasant stay. I would rate it an 8,5 to a 9!!

the kitchen is very usefull, the room is large enough, the location is near to everywhere

Me and my friend stayed for 3 days, nice room but a little shocked in the arrival because of the hotel entrance. And the local drivers dont know the hotel location, so you need to point the nearest landmark or building. It will be a little annoying because of the floor sound.

Friendly staff, good facilities, living room with tv and couch

Nice place for Backpackers, located directly on the waterfront. The Staff is friendly and helpfull. You get a basic breakfast (toast with jam, instant coffee) in the morning. I was there at low season, so i was nearly the only one staying there. But otherwise it seems to be a good place to meet other travelors have a good chat (with a beer).

      Cheap ”

      Price, decor, location

I had a fan, double room near the toilets. Room was clean and pretty, but slightly old. Windows allowed wind to come in at night so the room was not stuffy. There was an exhaust, which was a plus point. Toilet was nearby but clean, so that was ok. Overall, pleasant stay.

A nice stay in a charming guesthouse”

Friendly staff, great location, comfortable rooms

I stayed in Wo Jia Lodge for 2 nights. The staff are great, very helpful. The guesthouse is ideally located, in front of the river, in the main road. it is close to the bus station, the restaurants and the shops. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The showers (shared) were clean. The common area is really agreable to relax or read. Wi-fi is working pretty well. Tea and coffee are available all day.

      Quiet and peaceful”

location, friendly staff, value for money

The lodge is on the heritage row of buildings on the Kuching waterfront. It is above the row of shops and has lovely old wooden floors. Bathrooms have to be shared but since tourists mostly go out for the whole day, it is largely quiet and peaceful. There was free internet service also. The staff go out of their way to please the visitors and speak English quite fluently. There is free toast and coffee in the morning.

Staff, river view and common area

What lovely staff! Something you really appreciate after travelling Asia on a budget for 2 months, friendly and competent (you don't normally get both). Great English from both of them, even shook my hand when we left. Little things but it's the litte things that matter. Ask for their help/advice on what you want to do. Great view and location of the river and a lovely walk day or night. I would not risk staying anywhere else if I came back to Kurching. Only negative is the flooring and paper thin walls. Most guests understand this and walk gently, talk quitely but one morning we had a rude family let their kids run from room to room making a racket but we told them to be quiet and all was well again.
