Exceptional”

Wombats City Hostel is a well located little hostel near the centre of London. It’s well located only a 10 minute walk from the station or a 20 minute walk to the Tower of London. I stayed in a 8 person dormitory which was clean and had modern facilities. I did appreciate that the storage locker as well as an ensuite bathroom were all part of the same room. The hostel also had a bar which provided good vibes at night for chilling and talking with other travellers. I spent most of my time in London out and used the hostel only as a place to sleep with the occasional conversation with a fellow Aussie. Would not hesitate to recommend this hostel to other people wishing to stay in London on a budget for a few nights.

Perfect ”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Wayne who helped us early check-in and handled our luggage storage. The room was big and clean as compared with other hotels in London with similar price. The hotel provided breakfast with price (5 pound per person). There was also laundry service. The only one drawback is that the location of the hostel is soso with around 10 mins walk from underground station (Aldgate East or Tower Hill). Overall, Wombats worths its price and I will definitely choose this brand when I am going to other countries.

Nice hostel”

clean, has lift, cheap breakfast price, my dormitory has exclusive large shower room n toilet..convenient..wifi was working great at dorm. has own secure locker. Overall great stay. 10 minutes walk to nearest tube station...its around 25 minutes tube travel time to soho area...however its near other tourist destination such as tower of london. Like many other hostels in UK check out time is 10 am but am alright as I wanted to get out to explore London as soon as possible. Cannot store luggage more than 1 day so if you want to go outside london more than 1 day n back again you cannot store it at the hostel, even if you will stay another night at wombats after returning.

Great place to stay”

I felt like staying in Wombats was like staying in a reasonably nice hotel, but you share your room with other people, as the bathroom is like that of a nice hotel. The place is very clean, staff friendly, the bar downstairs was a great place to socialise, and the hostel is in a prime location to see the sights of London. If I were to stay in a hostel in London again, this would be where I would stay

Excellent first experience ”

This was my first time traveling alone and staying at a hostel, so I was a bit nervous going into it. Wombat's couldn't have been a better choice! It's right next to some of this big sights to see in London, such as the London Tower, the Thames River, the London Bridge, and more. The room itself was really clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the hostel offered a lot to do, including games such as fooseball and pool. The bar is a nice luxury to have if you want to drink but are too tired from travelling to leave the building. The bed was pretty comfortable. I could go on, but the place was excellent overall!

Now I know why this is considered the beat hostel in London”

I booked in advance so I got an amazing deal. The location is awesome! It is located in the central east end, just at the edge of zone one. 5 minute walk to Aldgate East station, 10 minutes to Brick Lane markets, 10 mins to Tower Bridge/Tower of London. Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome patio, lovely basement/bar/breakfast area. The brick walls, dim lighting, beds, etc. give a kind of cozy and cottage type of feel. Very lively establishment. I was amazed at the level of cleanliness of the room and bathroom, I was not expecting it. Definitely recommend this hostel!!!!

Totally recommended! - A hostel that I definitely would like to stay in again”

Was having a superb experience at Wombat's since the first time I entered the hostel, until I checked out... + the staff is friendly, helpful, and works fast + room is spacious, big locker with innovative lock + comfy bed with an access to a minimum 2 power socket on the side of the bed (I even got 4, and even better with sockets that fits to USB plug) + free use of towel and hair dryer + welcome drink! + the kitchen is big and has more facilities and utilities than you need - the first time I stayed at a hostel that provides 4 big fridges (with some free food) + the overall design and ambiance are also fantastic - a lot of cozy indoor and outdoor public area (with power sockets available at many places) + they have (well-functioning) elevator, which is super helpful if you travel with luggage + internet is pretty good, although almost unreachable from my bed, which is located at the very end of the basement floor. + they also provide free luggage storage Overall, I love it! Keep it up, Wombats!

Nice Location, Friendly Staffs, Clean & Secured, Systematic Check-in/Check-out Process”

The hostel is in a nice location, close to Tower Bridge and easy accessible to the supermarkets. It is about 8-10mins walk from Tower Hill Tube Station. From the airport, you are required to transit at one of the station in the city. If you are traveling with huge luggage, I'll recommend you to check with the train personnel in the airport to know the tube status, and which station would be better for you to have steps free (lift) access between platforms. I like the security implemented in the hostel. Each individual is given a card key that give you access to the room, your personal locker in the room, etc. You'll have access to the monitored luggage room with assistance from the staffs which you can store your luggage as well. I also like that they have mirror and basin outside the shower & bath room, so you won't occupy the bathroom if you just want to brush your teeth.

Great stay super central location!”

Pro - superb location close to the towers and London bridge plus the underground station Towers Hill. It all took like less than 10 mins walk. Great friendly staff and super cleanness. The place was quite chill which was perfect for me for that time but I can totally imagine it can be full and party when it needs to be. For a solo traveller I got to know new people at the bar and the kitchen/breakfast area. Con - super cold in the room , of course not really their fault because of the cold weather in London but the heaters needed to work and they didn't! Otherwise nothing else to complain! I recommend this place so stay at whenever in London!

Good, Spacious, Worth”

This is the best hostel i've ever stayed. I stayed here for 5 days, they provided free towel, adator to hire (deposit 5 pound). Breakfast costs 4.5 pound which was good breakfast. The room was very spacious. It was so good that there was the restroom in each room and you don't have to share with all people in hostel, only your roomate. The road to hostel was nice path so that you can carry your luggage easily. There was Sainbury supermarket before the hostel, even it was not near much but it was still convenient. In conclusion, i would definitely stay this hostel again if i go to london again.

The bar in the basement really makes wombat hostel a great place to stay. The people there are super friendly and you will end up making lots of friends. My only recommendation to the hostel is that they should have privacy curtains for the bed & AC in the rooms because it can get really hot in the summer time.

I lived in the 6-bed female ensuite for one week. The hostel is good! All the things are clean. The price of the room is not very expensive. Although it's a bit far from the tube (both tower hill and algate east station), it's in zone 1. I think it's worth the price ! Thanks wombats for giving me a great stay in London !

Value for money stay in the middle of London”

Travel here for holiday in London city for 5 days. To summarise: Pros: - Affordable stay in the middle of city (8-10 minutes walk to Tower Bridge) - Huge room (despite staying in 8 mixed dorm) - Friendly and informative staff. Cons: - Reception can be crowded during peak time therefore plan your check-in/out time properly. - Limited breakfast selection (if you are late for breakfast- 9.30am onwards, food like eggs and fruits will run out and they will not top up. Advisable to go for breakfast early.) - Nearest train station is 10 minutes by walking.

Very Good stay”

Only spent one night in London but it was enough to know that this is a very well run hostel. All your typical facilities and very well ran. Everyone was nice and friendly. Location is very close to Tower Bridge but a bit of a walk from the subway stop. Would definitely stay again.
