The reception staff were excellent”
The staff throughout the hotel were very professional,friendly and extremely helpful. Specially the reception lady ( I forgot her name, she's wearing a hijab). The location is just perfect not that far for the train station and other common places such as a restaurants, shops etc. The most important is the bed. The bed in dormitory was comfortable along with the curtain in every each. Highly recommended for a backpackers.

Highly recommended!!! Very comfortable, convenient, and close to the city center. The staff were very kind too. They let me stay in the common area and take a shower even before check-in at 2pm (my train from Jogjakarta arrived in Malang at around 4am). They also offer tours going to Mt. Bromo and Mt. Ijen. Plus. there's an interesting book collection near the dining area. ;)

Best hostel near malang train station”
This is my second visit to malang, and my second chance to stay at Woodlot hostel. It is the best place to stay at malang and it is cheap too. They have the cleanest hostel in every aspect. 10/10 would recommend everyone who consider to stay

It’s like a hotel that has great beds. In this hostel there are no rooms. On the first floor there are many beds for males, on the second for females. The beds are REALLY comfy and clean. I really liked it. There’s no hot water but the water at the shower isn’t too cold. I recommend you if you’re not looking for a social place.

Stayed here for 2 days for my trip to Mt bromo. Have to say beds are really comfy, and enough privacy. Breakfast was ok dont expect too much. Just didnt like the showers. But for that price cant really argue.

Location near alun-alun and city center. Staff was so nice and friendly. The bed was so comfy, clean, and private because there was a curtain in avery bed. But the bathroom not good, a little dirty and smelly. Everything was great except the bathroom and toilet.

Staf kurang ramah, mungkin karena hanya sedikit dan harga yang murah. Fasilitas memadahi untuk harga segitu. ENG: The price offered is suitable for backpackers. The location is quite strategic and convenient. Room cleanliness is good but for bathroom cleanliness is lacking. The staff are less friendly, maybe because it's just a little and the price is cheap. Facilities available for that price.

The beds where comfortable and clean, you had a lot of space to store your stuff and the dorms were clean. The bathrooms could me more clean, the breakfast is very very simple (just toast and a kind of jam), the had no towels at that time neither inkl. Nore to rent as all were in laundry.. but the hostel was very good situation only about 12 min walking from the train station and there were a lot of very nice warungs around
