“A bit disappointing”
Very large complex. Spacious rooms. Good beach. Large pool. Our room was a good size. The air conditioning in the room worked well - it was quiet and did not blow into the bed. The service was attentive, but often their English skills are minimal and even those who do speak it speak with such a strong and specific accent that you cannot understand them (however, this is a typical problem in Vietnam) Vinpearl Grand World is conveniently a 10-minute walk away. Unfortunately, there is no sidewalk there and you have to walk on the highway, but fortunately there are no cars there either. There is also public transport from the hotel to Vinpearl Grand World, but it runs on a fixed schedule and quite rarely and the bus is often so full. The a’ la carte Italian restaurant Atlantis was good. The Chinese restaurant is closed. The breakfast selection is quite Asian-centric, but you can also find dishes suitable for European tastes, although you would expect better quality from a 5-star hotel. Since the complex is large, there are long distances to walk everywhere and there are a lot of people and queues for breakfast. There was a problem with the shower in the bathroom, but the repairman came in 3 minutes and fixed everything. The interior of the rooms clearly shows wear and tear. The drawer bottoms are covered with cloth and this cloth is moldy and stinks. The wardrobe also stinks inside, but I didn't see any mold there. The sockets are broken and don't give a proper connection, you constantly have to shake the plug to find a suitable position for connection, this is a big problem, because you often discovered that the devices you put to charge weren't charged because the contact had been lost in the meantime. The beach and pool were the biggest disappointment. There are very few sun loungers. The hotel is very large, but there are only about 30-40 sun loungers on the beach. There are also very few sun loungers by the pool, one row around the pool and only about 10 of them are in the shade, the rest are without shade and they are empty because there are no people who would want to lie in the sun with such a hot and intense sun. The pool and beach officially open at 07:00, but at 9:30 the staff only came to the beach and the beach was not cleaned, there were dishes and garbage used from the previous day lying everywhere. One morning at 09:00 there were no towels on the beach or by the pool and they said that the towels would be brought at around 10:00. All in all, we never managed to be on the beach or by the pool at our hotel and had to use the pool and beach of the neighbouring hotel.
