Maintenance Has Deteriorated”
I went here about two years ago and stayed in the older building. Its proximity to the Terra Cotta Warriors, low price point, and the hot springs made it desirable. Then, the bathrooms were mildewy, the carpet was stained, there was water damage everyewhere, and the whole building smelled. However, the hot springs were in amazing shape and made it all worthwhile. Two years later, the older building has had no renovation, and I was crushed to find that half of the tubs, the pool, and my favorite giant overhead massage jet were out of commission. Also, the showers in the spa had also gone in the same mildewy direction as those in the rooms. I was very disappointed and will not return there again.
Love the hotel”
Love the environment, the bed was comfy, the hot spring which we paid seperately was ok. The chinese restaurant was good. Location was ok. Ned to take cab to get good food. Overall a good place to relax,
The hotel boasts international standards for a dilapidated room that had wall paper peeling with a carpet so old, that even my grandma would chuck without thinking twice! we had initially requested for a room with a bathtub and large bed which we didn't get either! poor customer service! horrible terrible place!
Many different hot spring choices
Excellent landscaping; excellent ambience; excellent service! ”
A wonderful experience and great value for the money!
Hot Springs Center and Massage Were the Draw for Me”
Xian Huaqing Aegean International Hot Spring Resort offers a hot springs experience -- The hot springs center seems to be separate from the hotel however. At the hotel some staff are English-speaking; at the spa not so much. Everyone is professional and welcoming but as at any resort there is some pressure to buy/pay for extra amenities...I wanted a foot massage at 125 Yuan as listed on the menu but the manager of the spa refused to give it to me and kept pointing to a 268 muscle and tendon relaxer option...I finally conceded and paid the higher price. Breakfast was not included and all meals are rather expensive...there is a Western and Chinese restaurant (Pizza and rice and chicken dish were 148 yuan) but there is also the Pomegranate Hot Pot buffet -- 98/person...not particularly cheap -- but these are the only choices at the resort...there was not a working refrigerator or a microwave and there was no store for snacks on the grounds....nor was there any complimentary coffee in the rooms...only 2 packets of tea...the taxi from the hotel to the XIan Bei Railway station -- a smooth 25 minute ride -- charged us 150 yuan...everyone seemed to have their hands in the cookie jar....(our metered taxi from xian central to resort was only 100 yuan). I enjoyed the experience at the hot springs and the room was comfortable; the pressure to spend money and the lack of options for food were a little offputting.
Hard to rate”
Where do I start? Outside of the hotel is lovely but the lower priced rooms were of a very poor standard compared to others we have stayed in around the same price. Frustrating that no staff had any english and rooms had no guide to where to find the 3 restaurants and spa facility. The hallway carpet was disgusting and chipped paintwork gave it a shabby, dishevilled look. On the bright side the beds were comfortable and the spa, at a cost of 118rmb, was very good and worth the cost with multiple pools with various features like a whirlpool, a aloe vera one, ginseng etc. Once again it was let down by no guide at all to what was available and we only stumbled on the free tea and nibbles room and the warm rock slab room. Note it is a 70rmb fare using uber to the terracotta warriors.
Reason to stay here because of the hotspring facility”
The service from counter is not fantastic. I requested during booking for a queen bed since I am a single person. But when I checked into the room then I know that a twin room was provided. I called up the counter service to change and was told I booked a standard room, so it is twin. Either the details to be corrected in Agoda or from the hotel. It is rather ridiculous that a single person would choose to sleep in twin. She keeps insisting no more available queen room until I said I want to speak to her manager. At the end, she said there is a cancelled booking. I have to walk back to reception (different building) to collect the change in room keys. If a good service provider would bring the change of keys to the present room for me to exchange rather than telling the customer to go back reception. At the reception, I asked why no buggy service to send me to my room building. Then she offered to call for the service for me. If not for the special price for hotel guest to the hotspring, I would not have stayed in such a bad service hotel.
Loved the hot springs and while the hotel does not have many English speaking staff / they went far to make our stay comfortable.
very kind staff”
very clean n kind staff recommend it!
Although the staff sometimes struggled with English they were more then willing to help. This hotel is about an hour outside the city but close to the terracotta warriors. It has fantastic views, comfort, and food. The breakfast in the morning was all you can eat and included western and Chinese selections. We enjoyed all you can eat hot pot (huoguo) for cheap and close to the hotel (literally right outside). The hotel has a hot spring that unfortunately we could not visit due to our time constraints.
Read mixed review about the hotel, but my stay ended up to be a great experience. I was lucky to be upgraded to the new wing. Everything in the room was sparkling new, there were even choices of lights for the bathroom, spa soft or spa normal. The service was at best efficient, though at times could be curt. I would still go back to this hotel for other great points that it has.
My stay ”
No value for money Staff at hot spring center totally ignored us when we started reasoning with them on certain issues. Guest must pay entrance fees to get into this hot spring center. This they should put in their website for all to read and know. My experience? Disappointment
Good time with warriors”
SPA resort in Xian near Terracotta ”
Basically is not a cheap hotel and the value of money against the facilities provided are not balance. It provides good spa facilities but the prices are way expensive applicable for the area. The decoration and environment around the hotel is well done giving a good ambient especially with the green area. Staff quality is bad as the service are still way beyond international standard. It seems it was good to cater local guess but still need a lot of improvement for international guess and tourist. Very bad bell boy and concierge service. Can't even arrange a taxi.
Impossible English communication Slow check in/out”
Very intrusive housekeeping people that write you notes and "memos" all the time about what they had to clean in the room. They need to understand they are in the hospitality business and they get paid for their service (or at least the hotel does). They shouldn't be writing annoying and offensive "memos" to guests. There is scanty and poor taxi service to the airport
Nice hotel, staff was helpful”
its ok, because of its luxury and friendly staff
It was truly a wonderful experience!”
I went with a group of long-life friends to visit the terra cotta warriors and instead of staying in the city, we decided to enjoy a resort setting. It was a beautifully maintained spa and hot springs with lovely staff. The breakfast buffet was also nicely done with a great assortment of dishes. Even though it is extra to go to the hot springs, you don't want to miss it as the vegetation and oriental details are beautiful. We all had such a wonderful time and look forward to going again. Truly, it will be a memorable visit and we were happy with our choice.
close to terracotta warriors, great hot springs”
I stayed here 1 year ago, there is still a lot of construction going on and when completed it will be magnificent! Not many staff speak English and food is definitely chinese catered. we found a great rest up the rd (turn right out of resort and on opposite side of rd) there were many changes in the area in the past year and I would say by 2014 they will cater better for western visitors. close to terracotta warriors ad the hot springs are amazing.
