Fairytale delight ”
On of the best kept secrets in the region. Each party of guests is treated to a well-decorated and appointed private villa of varying fairytale-like decors. Each suite is well above average in size and has virtually every amenity one can ask for, with top-quality beds, pillows, private living rooms and even an automated espresso/coffee machine. Each suite also has its own gates and private fenced porch area surrounded by a forest of well-kept trees and bushes– perfect for the ultimate getaway. As well, there’s a whole wardrobe of fairytale-like costumes for all sorts of photo opportunities in the surrounding gardens. This villa/hotel is very well run and kept and provides excellent service throughout. The complementary breakfast is far above average as well–more akin to a five star restaurant. Please note that it’s best to have a car as it’s a bit of a distance from public transportation hubs. In terms of value, most other such homestays/B&Bs/hotels in Yilan seem to pale in comparison.

A fantastic place for a cozy holiday!!”
I enjoyed spending my holiday in Yilan, in the cold spring park and the night market,but the best part of this trip is that I had a enchanted time in this B&B,the room I had stayed for 3 days is in the center of the garden, which is full of lush and greenery vegetation,especially the stunning tropical flowers. Not only the natural beauty of the landscape made me forgot all the stresses I had while traveling,but also the owner was very helpful with our travel plans,with hospitality. The room also had ac, internet access, mini fridge, and cable TV - this is more that what you usually get in a B&B and it was included in the base price.I highly recommend Xin Yuan Castle.

Family run Minsu”
Very friendly staff. Room was spacious as I booked a room (Cake Castle) enough for 6 adults and 1 kid even though there were only 3 of us so each of us slept on 1 Queen bed. Toilet seats had heater and beds were very comfy. There was free pickup from Dongshan train station but owner didn't inform. So compensated us with a trip to Luodong Night Market and due to the same misinformation, owner allowed us to check out late. Location may not be the most fantastic but can get hotel staff to call in cab which costs about NT200 to Luodong Night Market or any nearby areas. Breakfast was sumptuous. Surroundings was cosy.Will return again if there is a chance.

Amazing room especially for kids and families”
We made a booking for two people but the room was large enough to fit four adults and a child! There were two double beds and a child-sized bed in a snow white castle-like double-decked bed with a slide. There were also costumes available and many girls were happily dressing themselves up and going around taking photos in the fairytale-like hotel. The room I had was extremely detailed and had a comfortable sofa and beds. There was also a mini kitchen available for you to make your complimentary hot tea or a meal if you wished to. Meals were great too - breakfast is usually free and everyone gets quite a large portion, and dinner at the hotel is up to you but not too expensive for the amount of food they provide. The hotel is a little out of the way though, but a TWD200 or so taxi ride will get you to Xin Yuan. Highly recommended as an affordable hotel that is family and child friendly!

Excellent hotel for kids”
Expensive but good place for family with kids. Friendly and helpful staff. Nicely decorated. No lift. Room is very clean. Bright and spacious. Children's slide in bedroom. Children love it a lot. Huge soft toys are provided in the bedroom as well. Like the bed. Breakfast is Excellent! Delicious! There is also a complementary welcome drink given, complementary cocktail drink at night for adults (orange juice drink for kids), twd200 product voucher, 10% off dinner etc. Can play dressup. Fun. Don't like the location. If taking train, would recommend to alight at Luodong station to take cab or alight at nearest Dongshan station and call for cab. This hotel is great if you do not intend to travel any where but intend to stay with its premises to relax. Would recommend that they plant more flowering plants to beautify the environment and garden. Recommended to go to crayon factory nearby with kids.

We stayed for two nights and the room is amazing. We are so impressed by the enormous size of the room. It is well clean and managed. The high tea style breakfast is also impressive. We will definitely choose Xin Yuen when we visit Yilan next time.

Attentive and kind staff”
Xin Yuan is a slightly more organised B&B located south of Yilan. I guess we were not very familiar with the area, so we were a bit surprised that it's 15 mins drive from Yilan city centre. Like a typical B&B, the place is managed by a family. They are nice and provided us with warm friend service. The included breakfast is served with a three-tiered stand, local dishes and the portion is huge. They were kind and told us that we could get more if we needed. However, being located right on the farmland, there were nature bugs, flies, mosquitos and lizards in our room. Prepare to bring strong insects repellant should you wish to spend a night there. The towels provided were also very used and old. They were clean, but I would have to say, a number of things at this B&B are due for an update and change. Nevertheless, the staffs were nice and we still had a good experience at this B&B.

Princess lost in dreamland”
We have booked a Cake Castle Room as a surprise trip for a 5 year old. She totally immersed herself in her princess role, changing into different princess wear and refuse to go of her castle... We had booked another room, Prince William room, and it's spacious and looks exactly like the pic... totally love it. Breakfast was superb! Totally to die for.... extra large portion, home-made healthy fares.. think fish porridge.. Will definitely recommend it for traveller who's looking at trying something unique.. Great stay!

Fantastic stay, esp for those with daughters would love this place. You can sense that the owner really takes pride in all the little details, from the exterior to the interior of the room. The breakfast was served in tiered trays which is very english-tea like. Good spread, healthy food. Night time was western food. They are really hospitable and not calculative, doing their best to make us feel comfortable. E.g. extra portions, etc. Everyone was friendly and flexible.

We stayed there for a night, my family had a wonderful night there, the services were so great! My wife and daughter enjoy the customs for photo shooting. We can see the owner has spent so much effort to make this property comfortable, clean and with many theme decoration everywhere in the premises... Also like the scenary of 'Padi' field surrounding.

Stayed in the cake tower and room was big, clean with 2 toilets. Staff wanted to change our room to another one near the reception seeing our big luggage but we insisted on the loft unit (seldom find loft unit stay). Be prepared to walk inside and carry luggage on a flight of stairs. Breakfast was filling. There are activities for kids like colouring, toy cars (though not properly maintain), costume change. Most costume are for girls (princess style). My gal has a fun time changing into various princess. Location was quite stand alone house, with fields around. not near any convenience store, recommend that u get all supplies before staying.
