            Convenient, clean and modern hotel”

            Modern, efficient and cleanliness

Y-Loft is a great place to stay despite it's distance away from the city centre. It takes about 30 - 35 mins to get to Chai Wan MTR point from Central & Sheung Wan MTR station (both on the Island blue line). If you entered Hong Kong via the ferry terminal, it is very easy to get onto Sheung Wan station and straight to Chai Wan, without the need to change MTR lines. What is great about the hotel location is its ease of travelling from the station to the hotel building (Youth Square), whereby it's conveniently connected via walk bridges from the shopping mall. Not to forget, Y-Loft has a modern contemporary interior, which is also reflected in its rooms. We were impressed with our room (twin sharing) and even happier because the price you pay is very reasonable. Given another trip to Hong Kong, we will not hesitate to stay in Y-Loft again. Easily connected to all main parts of the city.

            Economic stay in Hong Kong”

            location, staff, cleanliness

Our stay at Y-Loft Youth Square was great. Two main advantages of this place are its location (next to the MTR metro line stop) and its price. The price was not cheap if you compare it to some other places, but it was cheap for Hong Kong. In terms of location, yes you have to spend time riding metro to get to places (between 20 and 30 minutes depending on where you are going in Central Hong Kong), but the trains are frequent and convenient, and hotel is basically adjacen to the station. There were no dining options at hotel, but there were plenty at the mall next door. We ate out in the city, though. Staff was very attentive, even as their English fluency fluctuated from person to person. Rooms were spacious enough (on Hong Kong scale). We had two large suitcases in the room and found space to store our stuff. Rooms were really clean. This hotel has a bit complicated layout inside, but once you learn how to navigate there, you are fine. Lifts/elevators are are large, numerous and fast. Where we stayed it was quiet, even though busy roads are not far. Some taxi drivers either do not speak English well or do not know about this place, so it helps to have the hotel address with you and also to have a map handy where you can point to the hotel. From the metro station there are numerous signs. It is exit A from metro.

Y-Loft A Great Place To Stay”

Value...you'll not find cheaper accommodations anywhere in HK. Cleanliness...probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Large room for HK. Close to the MTR. Very Helpful Staff. Great Exercise Room. Laundry Facilities Nice.
In Chai Wan, which is on the far eastern end of the Island...the only western food close by is McDonald's and KFC. However, there is a local grocery store with lots of western items and the room has a fridge to stock up. Also, this Hotel could be hard to find. If taking the MTR, ride to the Chai Wan station, take Exit A, which enters into a mall. Go pretty much straight through the mall and exit onto an elevated breezeway walk. Take the first right on the walk, go up the stairs/ramp, through a archway like entrance and take a right...elevators are on the right and the reception area is on the 12th floor.

Y-loft is supposed to be youth hostel (it does not resemble a hostile in anyway), however the rooms are comparable to that of a nice hotel, but at an eighth of the price. The rooms are very clean, swanky, and spacious be any standard. The staff was very helpful and spoke English very well. The only downside to staying here was the location, but it is close to the MTR. Thus, only a 20 to 30 minute ride into Central, Causeway Bay, or Wan Chai. Moreover it is only a 15 minute cab ride to Stanley Market, Bay, etc. In addition, Y-Loft has only been open for just over a month and has many other attractions within the facility that will make one's stay more comfortable. For example, a cafe, bar, restaurant, market, etc. are all going to open up very soon. Also, if you can book a twelfth floor room, you will have access to the outdoor garden. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay here and if we ever return to Hong Kong, then the Y-loft will be our first choice!

            Clean, Great-Looking Room”

Clean room, courteous staff, beautiful decor, complete amenities

We are extremely pleased with our stay at the Y-Loft. It is an up-scaled hostel and in many ways better than a hotel. The whole place has a modern, youthful decor. The room was clean and free of odor. The mattresses were firm and comfortable to sleep in. Our bathroom had separate toilet, sink, and shower areas. The balcony overlooked a dainty, triangular piece of lawn on the 12th floor courtyard. It was very quiet and restful. There were also laundry facilities in the common area and each load cost a reasonable HKD. There were also a microwave oven and a double-safe in our room but we did not need it. We enjoyed the Shanghai restaurant on the 4th floor. It was spacious and generally not very busy and we frequented it several times. The food was great and the staff was courteous. We had a lovely time with our family reunion as we were able to take our time --- a luxury in Hong Kong. The only downside is the location. Chai Wan is slightly off the city center and it's at the last stop on the Island subway line to the east. It takes about 15-20 minutes (during off-peak hours) to get to Causeway Bay and other cities to the west side of the Hong Kong Island. However, for older folks like us, it was really not an issue as we've enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the busier part of town at the end of the day and this place was well-worth the extra few minutes to get back to.

Easy access to and from MTR, excellent facilities such as internet and laundry, very comfortable and well decorated rooms

It's easy to get to from anywhere via MTR (we caught the train from Guangzhou, and managed on the MTR with 4 suitcases), just get to the Wan Chai station, and find the Youth Square exit which is an undercover walkway straight to Y-loft (look for the Bossini store in the shopping centre). The best part about being the end of the line is you can always get a seat when you hop on. Hong Kong is very easy to navigate, and is a really fun and not necessarily expensive trip.

            Easy access to MTR”

            convenient location, clean and affordable

This was my second stay at the Y-Loft Youth Square. It was pleasant stay. As it is within 10 minutes walk to the Chai Wan Mass Transit Railway station, going out shopping and sight seeing were extremely convenient. Based on my past experience with other Hong Kong hotels, the room that I stayed at the Y-Loft was much more spacious than some other posh hotels.

Great hotel in quiet location on Hong Kong Island”

Calls itself a hostel, but this is a 3* hotel

We looked for accommodation online and on the streets of Kowloon and Dowtntown Hong Kong Island- all similarly priced but Y-Loft was miles ahead of these places in terms of the quality and cleanliness of the rooms , the amenities, location and friendliness of staff. The hotel is situated on the end of the island line- a 2 minute walk to Chai Wan station and then a 20/25 minute ride into centre of Hong Kong Island or c. 30 minutes to Kowloon. The rooms were spotlessly clean, TV, a/c, in-room wi-fi, huge windows, comfortable beds, crisp linen.... We could not fault the place. If you wanted to save some cash you could buy some nice noodles from the shops nearby and heat them in the hostel's microwave, use their laundry (although this was expensive) or have a go in their fitness suite. Some people have said its too far away from the centre, we disagree. Easy to reach town centre and for the price, the accommodation was far superior to what you will encounter downtown.

Modern, stylish hotel to a good price.”

Cleanliness, modern and spacious rooms, big TV, room service, room facilities

We stayed 7 days in Y-Loft, after we found that his hotel had very ratings and is reasonably priced for Hong Kong - a very expensive city. Is is very easy to get there, as it is the last station of the Island Line MTR (Chai Wan). And just to put it correctly (compared to my fellows here), it takes 20 (!) minutes to Hong Kong Central, not 60 or whatever. It is not far away at all, the location is good. The rooms are very nice and big. Everything is clean, the "bathroom" is more modern and seperated. You will have the sink in the room basically, which is all very good. The AirCon is big and does not blow on you at night. A fridge, big TV, hair dryer, everything there. The service is really helpful and nice. Overall I recommend this hotel to everyone. We had 7 very nice days there, and felt very comfortable. The only drawback I can mention here is that the internet connection is really bad (especially between 8 and 12 pm). You will basically have no internet.

            Good location and great hostel”

Why I'm calling this a hostel is because it was designed to be, however it's much better than many hotels in Hong Kong. It's at the east end of the MTR Island Line but if you know HK well enough it's only half an hour by metro from Central and with MTR you can go almost everywhere conveniently. It about 3 mins walk from the Chai Wan MTR station through a mall and you go to 12/F for check in first. Once get the access card, you can go out and in the hostel block using another lift lobby which requires even less walking. That's an public rental housing estate shopping mall just next to Y Loft and it has a supermarket, McDonald's, cafes, and a wide variety of stores so that you don't need to suffer from the tourists price. The hostel itself is great too. They provide everything you need except for the one-time stuff such as toothpaste and toothbrush, papermade slippers but they have towels, cups, hair dryer, hand washer, and the 2 in 1 washer for body and hair. They rooms are well designed with flashy but traditional HK elements, large space and sufficient air conditioning. I'm a local but I'm sneaking out from the busy hubs and I would highly recommend this to everyone. Can't ask for more XD

            Enjoyable stay.”

The bed was comfortable and clean, room was better than expected. Value for money!

The size of the room was considered big for a hostel room, in my opinion. Occupied the twin room with a female friend on the 8th floor. Although the view from the window of our room was nothing very nice, other than buildings and pavements, honestly, there isn't much to see in Chai Wan to begin with as it is more of a typical Hong Kong neighbourhood than a tourist attraction. However, there are many activities that takes place in Y-Loft Youth Square from time to time. Y-Loft is separated into two buildings - main block and hostel block. Activities occur in the main building. It is very near Chai Wan MTR Station. In between the MTR and Station and Y-Loft is New Jade Shopping Arcade. It is a decent enough shopping mall to settle your meals and for buying daily necessities in case you ever run out of shampoo/toothpaste/etc. The room is clean enough and so is the toilet. There are bath towels and face towels provided. Overall, the place is better than I had expected and is definitely value for the money. However, do note that Chai Wan Station is at the end of the Island line so it could get quite time consuming to travel to other parts of Hong Kong especially the Kowloon area but the MTR is really efficient so this pose not so much of a problem for me.

            Great Place”

Spacious, convenient, clean, very comfortable, secured and reasonably priced

i've been in hk several times and i've seen all sorts of accommodations available around. y-loft i would say is by far one of the best accommodations there is. the rooms contrary to what most people think, not all accommodations in hk are tiny. y-loft is spacious you won't even feel like you're in hk! the rooms are clean, have its own t&b (no tub though but doesn't really matter) security deposit box, tv, fridge, study table with internet cable, rooms have wifi and yes your own cabinet too to hang your clothes (hk rooms are so small that getting your own cabinet is really a huge deal!). the bed sheets are clean and one can tell that the place is just few months old. the amenities it has its own gym (never had the chance to check it but i heard mostly for cardio). it has cafe near the lobby and some convenient shop within the building (can't remember which floor tho). souvenir shop next to the lobby and several spots where one can read, check their email and just plain relax. i told you it's so spacious! lol the service staff are friendly and most speak english. the location it is few min walk from chai wan mtr. kinda far and not so accessible from the city especially if you love bar hopping and plans to stay late till 2-3am. but if you're a typical tourist:- shop, dine, relax and visit places then going home at night should be quite manageable so long as it's within the mtr's operating hrs.

Nice and big rooms, kind staff

this hotel is located in the remote area chai wan on hong kong island, it takes a bit time to take the mtr to there, but i like the environment around the youth square. after you got your room key card you can use a separated elevator, you can open the door on the ground floor by that card. the rooms are so big if i compare them with the normal size of cheap rooms in hong kong. and the design is nice. there is not only one bathroom, there are compartments for shower and toilet, the sink is outside. on the first day the wired internet had interruptions, later it was ok. i would stay there again, but it would be fine if they would have double rooms, not only twin rooms.

            Affordable and accessible!”

            Spacious, clean and affordable.

Y-loft is located at Chai Wan(last stop of the MTR line), right beside the MTR station, however due to the fast and efficient MTR system, location does not pose much of a problem. The location is not as crowded as the central areas yet we can reach Central in 30mins' time. You can take A12 which stops right at the doorstep of Y-loft (purchase ticket at the airport @ $45), trip will take 80min but there is wifi on board the bus. There's a direct bus to Stanley which is scenic getaway from the usual bustling HK citylife. The rooms are spacious and clean, they provide towels and body shower, you just need to purchase toothbrush and tooth paste, additional shampoo (if required). Y-loft has fast internet access in the room, with microwave, laundry and even gym at the common areas, all-inclusive hostel for big groups or couple trips. Will definitely recommend to everyone who is looking for a frills-free trip!

            Worth to stay 2nd time”

Big room, great modern design, clean, staff friendly, close to MTR (5 mins walk), common facilities (Laundry, Gym etc)
If really want to point out, I would say a bit far from city center, 25 mins MTR to Hong Kong Central

I stayed there 3 nights, this is a new opened hostel (2 months plus), all are fresh new stuffs, room is really big, attached modern bath, Plasma TV, free Wifi, windows bench with full high fixed glass. 5 mins walk (with covered passage) to MTR Chai Wan Station, this is the last stop of Hong Kong Island line, take 25 mins (HK 7.50 single trip) to Central, 18 mins to Causeway Bay. It might sound a bit far if compared to Kowloon or Mong Kok, but my experience is I will back and stay 2nd time!! New opening promotion price is HK$300 per night, is consider real cheap, even after that they will adjust to HK$400, but is still worth to stay. In fact, this is a new building in Chai Wan area, is a Youth Center invested by Hong Kong government, the whole building is full of young and energy design, the architectural space is real great, MTR line is punched thru the building, and it linked to the neighbourhood old housing blocks, function as a community center of Chai Wan. We stayed in 12th floor, is great experience, no complaint at all.

            A wonderful experience in Y-Loft”

            1. The price offered is reasonable 2. The transportation is very convenient because you can easily find it out of the MTR station 3. Very clear and attractive
A little bit too far away from my school-City University of Hong Kong

The hotel overall is a very good choice for tourists in Hong Kong beacause of three main advatages. First, the price offered by Y-Loft is relatively cheaper compared with other same- level hostels in Hong Kong. Second, it is easy to find and just out of the exit of MTR station in Chai Wan. Third, the services provided by Y-Loft are of high quality and it is very considerate for its customers in terms of security aspect. I think it may be the best hotel you can find in Hong Kong at this price level.
