Best place for relaxing ”
great experiment with first ryokan hotel , an owner speaks english well ,the older owner will walk you to the room , despite a bit lonely at night (if you're a solo traveler). delicious breakfast and dinner. you can choose your private onsen time (I recommended you sunrise / sunset time for magnificent scene of Fuji). If you booked here don't forget to check a bus time , there are 4-round per day from Kawaguchiko station.
Such a surprise ”
The hotel is definitely a bit dated but it felt very clean and looked after. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and had the most amazing views of Fuji. You can get the sightseeing bus 2 day unlimited travel ticket for 1,500 yen from Kawaguchiko Station and that takes you to right outside the hotel. The private onsen was great and the staff were really helpful. Overall, I loved staying at the Yamadaya. Everything closes early but the buses also stop early - so you’ll have an early but very relaxed evening.
Good view ! You may see the Mt.Fuji in your room if the weather is good.
Comfortable like home, privare onsen with best fujisan view in kawaguchiko”
Though the hotel is quite far from the kawakichigo lake (drive around 15 mins) but the view is worth. Private onsen with fujisan view must be reserved time before use and there is time limit for only 30 mins per room. I think 1 hour would be better because you can enjoy more view, but i could understand this limitation since many traveller want to use this room. Anyway, there is public onsen on the first floor (near the restaurant) which you can continue using onsen with fujisan view (but not so stunning like the private one). I and my family very enjoyd the time there. The ryokan room style is nice and also the view from the corridor. For parking, you can park for free 24 hours and that's very great for me and my family. Anyway, I think that the young woman staff may not smile much to the visitor. If this can be improve, the hotel and my holiday time would be perfect here. After all, I still recommend this hotel if you are looking for the best and peaceful place in kawaguchigo.
Friendly, professional, helpful staff, quiet, beautiful view of Mt Fuji from all the rooms, free private onsen with view of Fuji-san, incredible Japanese food. Worth the extra bus ride and worth the price.
Great location in terms of view. Lake Shoji & Mt.Fuji right in front of the hotel. Might need some planning if using public transportation. The private open air onsen is a must here. Ask the staff for time of sunset or sunrise when booking the private onsen, it will probably be the your best onsen experience.
A pleasant stay. Reasonable price with excellent staying experience”
This hotel located in a quiet place next to Shojiko. You can have full view of Mt. Fuji in your room. The dinner and breakfast is delicious, staffs are friendly, the room is clean. A very reasonable price with excellent staying experience. One point to note, you better drive to the hotel as there are no hotel shuttle from main station and the public transport is not frequent.
Value for money with great Mt Fuji view”
The hotel is just a short distance walk from the bus stop. The owners are really accommodating and helpful with all the enquiries i sent via email. They even sent us to and back from the Fuji-Shibasakura festival. The dinner and breakfast were really great, and we got to experience authentic full course Japanese dinner and breakfast. We were also pretty lucky to be able to have a full clear view of Mt Fuji, right from our room window.
Good location, but a bit run down”
I travelled with a friend and we stayed one night. It's quite remote and there are no other facilities close by, unless you drive to the next lake. Beautiful view of Mount Fuji and excellent location, but hotel is a bit old and run down - some paint peeling, small things not fixed, bathroom smelled a bit of pee and overall showing age. But private onsen bath was a plus (need to make a reservation when you check in, but it's free) and the dinner and breakfast were very good.
Great view to observe Fuji Mt.”
Everything brings amazing memories
mt fuji view from window and everywhere inside hotel”
worth travelling to. check weather before you go for clear sky and fuji will show you
it is located in very remote area, a quiet and beautiful place i supposedly can see lake and mount fuji from my room window (but sadly it's foggy) the open private onsen it's spectacular and tempting LoL the dinner and breakfast are delicious with various kind of food. Minus - transportation option is limited, u can online take blue line bus - which is only 3 or 4 times a day
An old charm with spectacular view”
Pros: Majestic view of Mt Fuji from your window. Fantastic 1 hour private onsen with Mt Fuji as the background. Delicious and yummy food. Next to convenience store. Cons: Old, rundown and a little bit tired.
The best view of Mt.Fuji is at this hotel ”
Best quality of staff service, Good facilities, Panorama view of Mt.Fuji at Shoji lake, Private onsen 30 minute per room with mt.Fuji view and I would like to say thank you for made my day :). A bit far from Kawaguchiko station should have a private car will be better but if not you must check the bus table time first and plan your trip. However I still love everything of this hotel -3- * สำหรับการเดินทางโดยรถสาธารณะ ขึ้นรถบัสสาย blue line ใช้เวลาเดินทางจากสถานีคาวากุจิโกะประมาณ 40 นาที ส่วนขาออกจากโรงแรมรอบเช้าสุดจะเป็นรอบ 8.40 น. โดยรถบัส สายlocal รอที่หน้าโรงแรมได้เลย แนะนำให้ซื้อตั๋ว Retro bus for 2 days จะคุ้มมากกว่าค่ะ
Highly recommended for budget travelers”
Excellent view of Mt. Fuji from the room and the private onsen. The private onsen was well maintained. Facilities are old but acceptable. We took the food package too as there isn't any convenient stores around. For the price paid, I think food are up to standard. However, be sure to reach the hotel early if you are travelling by bus. Taking a taxi to the hotel will cost you around 7000 yen.The last bus departs from Kawaguchigo station at around 6pm plus.
Great Fuji experience. ”
Peacefull place and totally worth the stay! We spent one night at Yamadaya hotel. The location is wonderful in lake Sho-ji, 25 minutes away by bus from the busy lake kawaguchiko. The environment is so natural and the views of the Fuji Mountain from the hotel (from the room, onsen, restaurant) are just amazing. The lake is perfect for a walk and see the sunrise and enjoy the sunset lights. Despite the hotel is from the 70's, everything was perfectly clean and organized. Breakfast and dinner were the best. The food is very good in quality and in quantity. The private onsen on the rooftop (you can rent a private onsen only for you) and the public baths (open 24h) are just a must. You also can enjoy a perfect view of Fuji from the onsen, actually from everywhere inside the hotel. We really recommend this place to live the Fuji experience.
Wonderful rooftop private onsen”
Private rooptop onsen with excellent view of Mt. Fuji , every room can book half an hour of private onsen, luckily not much people at that day, we booked 3 time slot. Reasonable price with great service, we will visit again in the future
rooftop private onset facing Mt. Fuji is superb”
It's an small family hotel with public onsen & private onsen on rooftop. All rooms are facing Mt. Fuji & the hotel is at one of the Fuji Lake 5. The scenery is so so beautiful. It is better for people hiring a car. If going by public transportation, you may take bus from the station. Not crowd, very peace, relaxing
We have stayed for 1 night with free car parking. It is easy to find location. Even it is a bit far but worth for good view. The room is clean and big. They provided excellent breakfast and dinner. They also offered 24-hours public spa and 30-minutes private spa for us. We enjoyed so much in the hotel. Highly recommend for all of you, especially, their hand-made ice-cream. Staffs are really nice with good English. We would like to visit again.
Impressive view, friendly service and yummy dining meals”
Yamadaya had provided us a superb room with balcony. The view was absolutely amazing. If you prefer to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday, Yamadaya is definitely a good choice. Kawaguchiko area is full with tourists and I prefer Lake Shio which is quiet and majority are local Japanese. I can't wait to plan for my next stay with Yamadaya. Thank you for servicing with very good view, good food and good onsen. You can have your private-time onsen with facing Mt Fuji directly. This is really a good experience!
