Fabulous beach with good value for money hotel”
The attraction for Yamonnar Oo Resort is the long white beach and the Bengali Gulf almost at the doorstep of the beach bungalow. Staff was help full by providing assistance with phone calls and getting taxis. Breakfast is only served from 7 AM to 9:30 AM which I think is a smaller window than perfect, but the breakfast is fresh, well prepared with opportunity to support different tastes.

on the beach”
It was great to have the seaview room in Yamonnar Oo. I was sad when I knew there was no swimming pool in the hotel. But I was totally cheered up when I swam in the clean and quite sea.

Great location, but service could be better...”
We stayed 4 nights in the garden view rooms (beachview and beach cottages were fully booked). The latter are definitely better. The location is great: within palm trees directly by the beach; quiet because away from the village with nice beachfront. Nevertheless is the village and other resorts with restaurants within walking distance. The dining room and open terrace for breakfast/dining is very nice. The food for breakfast is ok, the seafood from the restaurant in the evening was quite good. Service and cleanliness could be improved! The staff is neither very attentive nor helpful. This resort is not upscale, so dont expect anything fancy.

Comfortable and Beautiful”
A very comfortable resort with excellent hotel staff who went out of their way to help us out. Room was clean and modern and right on the mostly deserted beach. It was a beautiful place!!!

Lovely relaxing long weekend”
We had a very nice time for this long weekend. The beach walks are just great, the sea was so warm and refreshing and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We had lunch and dinner at other restaurants nearby because we were with other friends, and these were also great. Staff in this hotel are very very good, keeping the beach and hotel grounds very clean and the rooms well cleaned too. Management is clearly excellent.

overpriced for standards advertised”
yamonnar oo resort – superior ocean bungalow. over priced but stunning location. huge room but under powered aircon and electricity from 6pm for 6am. cleanliness was lacking (dirty windows and stained sheets) and mediocre over priced restaurant. owned by kbz bank group – so surly staff who thought that strimming the drainage ditch behind my room was a great idea – even when i told them to stop they did so very reluctantly. praise for this hotel is very misplaced.

Relaxing time by the beach”
We spent four nights here. The garden view rooms will, one day, overlook a garden - at the moment they face a building site. But they are excellent value, clean, spacious, and ideal for some low-cost time by the beach after several weeks travelling around Myanmar. If you can stretch to it, the beach-front bungalows seemed to have a much nicer location and view of the sunset, but we were happy in the lower cost rooms. Ngwe Saung itself is an extremely quiet and idyllic beach, but with very little in terms of nightlife or places to eat - the hotel restaurant is very limited and devoid of any atmosphere - we found ourselves searching farther afield after a day or so.

On the beach, fantastic staff, nice hotel, ”
On the beach with nice view, newly renovated, fantistic staff, good food, good value for money, would not change with it any other hotel.

Great beach, nice room, lacks atmosphere”
The standard of the room was high compared to others in Myanmar, a good comfy bed. As other people have mentioned, it appears that the hotel isn't quite finished yet and I found that the hotel didn't have as much atmosphere as other hotels along the beach. The breakfast was just OK, however the service for other meals was extremely slow and the food wasn't particularly good. As the hotel is far from the main village, in the evenings we ate at the restaurants at Silver Coast and Shwe Hin Tha, both were good. I think once this hotel becomes a little more established it will improve. As to hotel cleanliness, I don't think the room had been cleaned prior to our arrival (!) and neither was it cleaned during our stay. All in all a nice place just to kick back and relax on the beach and what a lovely beach Ngwe Saung beach is.

Perfect location”
With few neighbouring resorts, this hotel offers a very quiet place right on the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing.

Could be great but missing something”
Big resort right on the beach around 2km south of town. Beachside bugalows are nice but the whole resort lacks any atmosphere at all. Accommodation in Burma is expensive but this place seems worse than anything (though its difficult to find somewhere along this strip which offers value for money). The whole town has power cuts but here is better than others with power (and thus aircon) from 1-3 in the afternoon then at night which actually works fine. Worst was we were charged to use the inner tubes to float on the beach as you would expect them to include this in the room price.

Beautiful grounds, okay rooms”
This was a pretty nice hotel! I think it costs more than it's worth. But it was nice. The rooms are very basic. Our fridge in the room didn't work and no one spoke enough english to fix or replace it for us. There's no cold drinks or ice during the day when they have power which was a huge bummer for us. We wanted to sip on a cold beer at the pool or a nice cocktail, which just isn't possible. Overall, it's a nice place to stay. A bit over priced though

Just okay”
Hotel was just okay. It seemed unfinished like they were still building it. The staff does not speak much English which seems to be the case in most of Myanmar. The hotel description said there's wifi in the room but this is not the case. It is only available in the restaurant and barely works. The hotel is on the southern end of the beach and the village is about 3 kilometers away which means you have to take a motorbike to go to the village.

Right on the beach”
This is a nice hotel on a beautifully quiet area of the beach. The bungalows right on the beach look to be the nicest but we were happy with our cheaper room in a modern building a few steps away. The breakfast and restaurant were just awful, but typical of Myanmar. Cold food and filthy tablecloths. If you can deal with that, the hotel is very nice and relaxing.

7 nights relaxing”
We stayed in a beach bungalow for 7 n. Staff were friendly but poor at English. The resturang was really boring and some times. Room was nice but only power on nighttime and one hour on the daytime.

Need Improvement”
Hotel rooms looking clean from exterior but internally the floor is feeling sticky, the bed and blanket are not clean enough. Location is not bad, on the beach side.

A BIG DUMP”
Overpriced dirty hotel. Landscape unkept, used q-tips in pathways, hallways filthy with hair, toilet paper, dried liquids left on the bed table, room & hallway floors, maggot found on bed blanket, dead bugs left on walls, hair in shower drain, bed had a bottom sheet (not changed from last guest) no top sheet, thus repeatedly used blanket would be in contact with skin. Lazy staff who kick trash into flower beds even when there is a trash bin one foot away. There is no electricity from 6 am to 6. Restaurant staff refuse to serve food, then deliver food to local guests. Only two menus for 70+ guest dinning room, Overcharged for room had to be renegotiated even after showing booking confirmation. Minimal English so diff. 2 communicate. Had to turn down fridge temp to have cold beer, staff did not know how or were unwilling to do this. Relatively friendly staff who like to sing and gather in hallways at 6-8am to socialize outside guests' rooms.
