Very Comfortable, great hotel”
We had a great stay in Tien Lai resort. It is convenient which only takes 40 mins from taipei city to this country side resort. There is shuttle bus travelling from/to the Jin Shan market. And the spa are great! Our room was fantastics and we loved the private bath in the room. We definitely would come again though the price is a bit high.
Good place for relax!”
This is the second time I came to Tien Lai. The hotel is located near Jin Shan. We would think that it is worth travelling for more than an hour from Taipei City. We just love the peaceful and relaxing environment of the hotel. This time we have booked the Japanese Triple room that equipped with hot spring facility at the balcony. The room is spacious and the balcony is facing the pool & hot spring area. Great view! We really enjoyed the external and internal hot spring facilities very much... The only drawback will be the limited choice of food for dinner. Hopefully the hotel will also increase their maintenance on the carpet cleaning at common area to remove the smell although it is not too obvious. Overall, our stay was really relaxing and this is the place we loved to come back again.
fun and relaxing”
We had a great time at Tien Lai. There are so many leisure activities it's hard to fit them all in! The surrounding area is a cool artist town and mountains- but we didn't have time to hike because there was so much to do at the hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and very accommodating for the baby too. Book the room with dinner included. The only downside of Tien Lai is if you don't have a car, the best way to get there from the city is by bus, which can be crowded. Take the 1:30 bus from Taipei to check in at 3.
Relaxing hotel for hot spring ”
The hotel is a hidden gem at Yang Ming Shan. If you are looking for hot spring, this is the right hotel for you. The room is comfortable though it is just good size for the stay of the my family. Probably the hotel requires to consider to install more hooks for clothing and towel in the shower room. Breakfast spread was awesome and provided healthy range of food. We had Dinner in hotel since there were no shop around in the walking proximity. The ala carte dinner was delicious. Overall is a satisfied stay.

Beautiful big and clean room!”
Loved our stay at tien lai!! I always come to their hotsprings everytime we are in Taiwan, but this is my first time staying in the hotel! Loved everything abt our stay, room was big, very clean and very comfortable! Breakfast was good and the mongolian bbq buffet dinner was even better! The hotsprings in tien lai are mt favourite in tw..i hope we can be back soon!
The hot spring facility at this resort is impressive: pools of different temperatures, flavours, and pressure jets. It also has sauna, and a fish doctor tank. Numerous dining options. Delicious breakfast buffet. The best thing is the resort is accessible by local bus #1717. Definitely worth a second visit.
Beautiful Location But Under Renovation”
We recently stayed at Tien Lai during the October Holiday. The resort was not busy at all, which made it very relaxing and peaceful. We were really looking forward to using the "newly renovated" outdoor hot spring which was supposed to be completed by Sept 30th according to the resort's website. We were very disappointed to find out that the outdoor hot spring was still under construction--and from what we saw--wouldn't be done anytime soon. We booked a Japanese Quad room (located in a building separate from the main building where the restaurants are). The room was nice and good for a family of four with two double beds. Modern bathroom and private hot spring bath for the family to enjoy together--with a window which opens up to a mountain view. The stunning view from our room/balcony somewhat made up for the disappointment of the closed outdoor hot spring. The indoor hot spring was not bad, but nothing spectacular. Only one pool was really that "hot." Our kids loved the outdoor swimming/play area and waterslide for the kids. The food at the hotel restaurants was good, but certainly not excellent. There are set menus and/or buffets with limited serving times. Best thing we did was take a day trip to the Ju Ming Museum, about a 30 minute taxi ride from the hotel. We had seen a little description about the "outdoor sculpture garden" on the hotel's website, but we had no idea how amazing the place would be. Our whole family was amazed at the huge outdoor sculpture installments spread out over a beautiful landscape. . .absolutely awesome, Ju Ming is an amazing sculptor/artist. . .you and your kids will love it! This hotel is a great option if you want to escape from Taipei, past Beitou and up into the mountains to get away. . .the drive to and from Taipei is gorgeous, but be careful with kids as ours got a bit carsick because of the twisting turning drive.
Comfortable hotel with individual Spa at Room!”
THe location is at the middle of the hill, even the transportation is not very easy but it still a very good hotel, it is a kind of relax and rest of hotel, food is excellent, I went there for bike, so, everytime when I need to go down the hill is not difficult but it is hard to ride back to the hotel from the bottom of the hill! hotel have their own suttle bus to go to Jinshan, so, it is not difficult. THe msot especially is it have the individual Spa inside your room, you could image how comfortable and convenience for the spa everyday, the spa water is really good, it help to relax and recovery very good!!
Clean and nice hotel with great service”
Access to Tien Lai is a breeze. Took Royal Bus 1717 within 3 minutes walk from our hotel in Taipei. Tienlai's Triple room was big and clean with windows facing the mountain. Staffs' service were friendly. Many selection of spa pools are relaxing and a fun experience for both children and adults. We did not take dinner in the hotel but instead walk 3 minutes uphill to a cozy restaurant nearby, serving authentic local food and steamboat. Nice experience throughout. Great service from Vicky, their service counter staff.
The hotel facilities are very good”
We enjoyed our stay in Yang Ming Shan Ten Lai Resort & Spa. Children are also happy to stay here.
Comfortable stay!”
The location of Tien Lai was a bit out of the way, but thankfully there were many cabs around the area and the nearest Jinshan district so getting around wasn't too bad. Overall, the hot spring experience in both the room and the hotel were awesome!
Good value”
Location: A bit far away from Yang Ming Shan, but still ok if you have your own transport The Hotspring is not bad, and its not too crowded. Also, family rooms are available. This means the cost per head is quite low. Breakfast is not bad.
Great customer service”
i bought the discount bus ticket via their online portal however failed to print out the ticket properly. the bus driver explained the printed ticket cannot be accepted and when i thought i have just wasted and had to cop extra bus fare, the bus driver said i should call tien lai's reception and get them to re-print for me and we can pick them up upon arrival. i called tien lai's reception when i was on my way there on the bus and the reception lady was extremely patient with me trying to explain the situation in my terrible mandarin and the issue was sorted professionally. reception was fast and professional. information regarding transport in the area, bus timetable information, sightseeing recommendations were provided at the time of check-in without us having to ask. that was very much appreciated. the reception lounge was beautiful, the rooms, though not new, was very well maintained. if anything, it would be great that the spas opening hour can extend to start prior to 7pm and that they offer more than pizzas and pasta during dinner (we didn't come to taiwan for pizzas and pasta...).
Wonder Outdoor Spa”
Tien Lai Resport & Spa is a beautiful resort. Fantastic outdoor spa where they had several hot spring pools plus a few cold ones to cool you down. Lovely garden too. Rooms (I had the 2-King Size family room) are big and clean. Staff is very courteous and helpful. However, the Mongolia BBQ restaurant closes very early - 8.30pm for last call and 9pm - restaurant closed. The Italian restaurant does not have much choice of food and the taste of the food is only so-so. The swimming pool (cold water) is quite dirty with algae on the bottom of the pool towards the sides.
Room with gorgeous mountain view”
Pro: It's a very big hot spring hotel with many facilities (indoor playground, indoor hot spring, outdoor hot spring and pools). The main reason we choose this hotel is because of their hot spring which is in the room. We were able to have a dip in the hot spring together with our children without stepping out of our room. The room is huge with two king size beds (good enough for 3 adults and 2 children under 7) Con: You will need to take a 1 hour bus ride (bus no 1717) from Jiantan MRT to Tien Lai. However, the good thing is, the bus stops right in front of the hotel. Food: The morning breakfast was good, with a wide selection of food items. There are only two restaurants open for dinner and price was on the high side. Should try the Tien Lai beer if you can. It's good!

Hotel with style and dedicated to hot springs ”
Accomodation, food and hot springs are definitely unforgettable at Tien Lai. Every thing was gorgeous for us and adapted for elderly and family.
Hot springs are good but staff not professional”
The staff at front office asked us to take the bus to one of the touristic spot where we can watch hot vapor coming out from volcanoes, instead of telling us that we should take the tourist shuttle of Yang Ming Shan. This very bad suggestion has caused us to take around 15 minutes to climb up a hill where there are wild dogs around (Note: if you take the tourist shuttle, it will drop tourist off directly at the tourist spot); worse is that we need to wait for the bus at a bus stop without any cover for more than 40 minutes, when the weather is under 5 Celcius! This is very unprofessional and shows that the management of this hotel has very bad concept and knowledge in service quality. They are not considering the need of the tourist at all! They don't know how to train their staffs in the appropriate way.
Lovely hotel with a smile”
The hotel has one of the best hot springs that i have went. there is also a huge no. of choices of hot springs available. Service staff is friendly, and the restaurant serve nice food, but a little expensive. The hotel is not very accessible from taipei city, with only one connecting bus from taipei. Taking a taxi, which cost around is recommended if you have budget. Overall a good hot spring resort to rest and relax. One of the best i have been so far.

Love the in-room hot spring and the tranquility”
Stayed one night in a Quad room (japanese style) in the new wing. The hotspring at the balcony is lovely. Good view. Can relax in privacy. Love the spacious and clean room and very good in room facilities (especially the bath room) and amenities. Big and comfortable bed. Good quality bed linen. Took a walk around the resort early in the morning. Enjoyed the tranquility and the greenery/ scenery. Breakfast is great. Few choice for dinner though. No time to explore other facilities as we stay only for one night and rushing to leave the next morning. Should allow more time, perhaps two nights, to enjoy the facilities. Interesting experience at the public spa (indoor). Good facilities e.g. shower, big hot spring pool with full glass window, lockers, powder rooms etc. Only that the wall / ceiling / rest room a bit old. It took quite a long travel uphill along the winding road to reach the hotel though.
Excellent Hot Spring, Excellent Outdoor hot spring”
excellent outdoor hot spring if you like hot spring you would enjoy a lot. hotel location is OK if you go through Jinshan, food is excellent especially if you like the beef noodle. Staff are very helpful and nice and the environment is very relaxing. very good japanese style room.
