Great for the money. ”
This was very central to China Town and close to the things we had planned to visit. I would give this place 5 stars but when we were checking out the manager held us basically hostage while the doorman checked our room. I was trying to get stuff put into the taxi while we had one other person wait and they wouldn’t unlock the doors for us. Very unprofessional.

Great value for your money”
A really good hotel in a convenient location for exploring downtown Yangon. The staff are incredibly helpful and went out of their way to assist us with a number of things. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you need including aircon, TV and a good bathroom. The free breakfast is reasonable - much better than the basic egg and bread in most places.

Unreplenished breakfast, Noisy Chinese guests”
Modern, Comfy and clean rooms. Polite and attentive chamber maids and doorman.
My room was last room at the end on 6th floor. The room was the pleasantest part of this hotel, as it was modern, clean and beds were comfy. Being the last room at the end of corridor, we were better shielded by the noisy mainland chinese guests who were permanently loud. My room toilet, although small and with no proper shower stall so water splashed everywhere, there was however, a good toilet seat cover that prevented seat from getting wet. There was almost a permanent smell of smoke as the chinese guests liked to smoke in their rooms although there were smoking signs on every level of the hotel. The chinese lady boss of this hotel was rather strange, always telling me that "even if I liked an item on the buffet breakfast, there was nothing left". I found that annoying, as I felt it was her job to ensure that breakfast was replenished for other guests who came down at at 8.30am, especially if there was one more hour left to breakfast schedule (7.00 - 9.30am). Excellent location though as it wasn't located on the noisiest street in the surrounding area. Right in the heart of chinatown - cannot fault the location.

Coming back to friends”
Very friendly and helpful staff, very good and quiet location, good room for money
After my longer stay in Bagan I returned for the last two nights to this hotel before flying back to Bangkok. When I came to the reception I had a big welcome, like coming back to friends. For other aspects I only can repeat what I said in my first comment: very good and quiet location in the heart of Chinatown Yangon, not luxury but good room with all you need. Good to spend some more money and take room with window and balcony. Next time I will visit the Yangon Regency Hotel again - I think this is the main argument.

Stay with friends”
Very friendly and helpful staff, very good location in the heart of Chinatown, good room for money
First I can confirm what other comments already say: very friendly and attentiv staff - you just feel that you have friends around you, helping you all the time what they can. Second: very good location in a quiet side street leading to two main streets in the middle of Chinatown Yangon. That means that you are very close to local restaurants, shops, street markets and all the streaming life of the city. But because it is a side street not much traffic to drive thru, so you have good sleep in the night. Third: good room, not very big and luxury, but you have all you really need - and a quiet aircondition because new. I had a room with a window and a balcony - I think it is worth to pay some dollars more and can see out, specially when you stay not only one night.

Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Good location. Clean rooms.
We have been travelling very often. Never before had we met such polite, helpful, caring and effective hotel staff. Even the Chinese couple who run the hotel were so caring that we felt we were more than at home. It seemed that all of them were ready to offer help at any moment.

Nice and new hotel with very friendly staff”
Staff, Internet, Breakfast
I loved my stay there. This is a new hotel, modern and good internet. The Breakfast was great with choices for both Westerners and Asian patrons. Only 2 persons speak english, the rest of hem speak chinese, this is a chinese hotel in Chinatown but despite of that, the staff will try to help as much as they can. Before going to the Bus station to go to Bago, the receptionist called the Guest house there and sak the taxi to call them again to give them the bus number when Ill reach the bus station. As a result i had someone waiting for me in Bago at the bus station (BUs station there = side of the road). I came back to Yangon Regency Hotel twice and will certainly go back again.

modern room, great location, excellent service
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Bed was great. My room was very quiet. Of course being one or two months old there were a few minor issues but Mikeliu one of the owners was immediately there to correct any issues with a great smile to go with the service. I did tell MIkeliu that he really needs a girl at the front desk to speak better English so th a t she could be of help to travelers. He was aware of this.

Simple No frill lodge”
Located on Sin O Dan Street next to China Town. A 1 star lodge with small ensuite room full of construction worker who bunked 3-4 in a room sleeping on the floor meant for 2. Smoked and talked loudly on their mobile in both their rooms as well as the corridor thus turning every room in that floor into a smoking zone. Breakfast consist of coffee, fried rice watery porridge, bread and jam and not much else. Location ensures that you have to fight through the horrendous jam ( 45min to clear down town Yangon at average speed of 15-19kph). Unless you plan to visit China town, better stay near or north of the airport. Plus point, friendly counter staff ( if you speak mandarin) with relatively clean room.

Right place in Chinatown for budget travellers”
If you are on budget and want to stay in downtown Chinatown it’s the right place. Bit basic, unfortunately bathroom had bad smell because poor hand basin sanitary fixing (no siphon). Location is good for exploring downtown. Reception only in daytime English speaking staff. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast basic Asian. Considering overpriced hotel prices in Myanmar it’s good value for money.

Good location in busy Chinatown
Fine if very basic hotel, should be 1-star. Room small but ok with large bed and good aircon and hot water. No English TV channels. Wifi fine. Staff and guests mostly Chinese so English limited but staff very pleasant. Non-smoking rooms have ashtrays and lift smells like one. Plenty in area: shops, stalls and great street food. Fine for cheap, central hotel.

Close to Chinatown, comfortable room
The wall of the room and the floor of the toilet are a bit dirty, with black spots and some cracks. Small/basic room. But the beds are comfortable and the air-conditioning are working fine. The hotel is located at the heart of Chinatown. Walking distance to Scott market where you can buy souvenirs. Many stalls selling food and fruits at night.

There's nothing good about this hotel except that it is located in Chinatown. The room is small without windows and there's no hot water shower. If you are a tourist wanting to explore downtown Yangon, it is OK but not for business people.

Good location, excellent staff”
Location, Staff
This hotel is located just one block from infamous 19th Street in Chinatown, home to a vibrant night time dining scene. I booked a superior room with a window. The view was of a dilapidated building 6 feet away, but it's nice to have the option to open a window in the event of a power outage, which did happen both days of my stay. The hotel does have a backup generator though, so outages were of short duration. The room itself was clean, although a bit tired and stained. The bathroom was tiny, and the process of showering gets everything wet. Tip - move the toilet paper roll out of the room during your shower. Again, the surfaces you will come in contact with are clean, but the details are missed. Large chunky grime balls around the windowsill, for example. The AC worked well, as did the TV, but just one English channel. Wifi was pretty bad, but I certainly can't fault any hotel in Myanmar for having a slow connection. Breakfast was OK, a good variety of options - fried eggs made to order, fried rice and noodles, steamed corn and sweet potatoes, dumplings, fruit, juice, warm soy milk, instant coffee, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They made the necessary phone calls to book my next hotel and arranged for a bus ticket to be delivered to the hotel. Excellent service. My only real complaint is that I thought the price was a bit high for this type of room.

staff, location, nightlife
The hotel is located in Chinatown, right next to 19th Street where you can find lots of street food at night. The market is also a few steps away. It is convenient to find taxi to go around too. My hotel room was decent for a short stay. The staff charged me only half the regular price to stay extra 6 hours.

5 mins walk to the 19th street”
Location, Cleanliness & Price
Hotel is in downtown very close to the 19 street. Street food & stores are easily found. 20 mins walk to Bogyoke Aung San market 30 mins walk to Sule Pagoda. Hotel is simple & clean. Room rate is quite reasonable. However, there are many Chinese guests who made lots of noise early in the morning, so no need alarm clock ;)
