Hawkshead was amazing. The pods were great. We were sorry we could not stay more than a night but next day we got to sit by Esitheswaite Lake and have coffee right on the lake with really friendly ducks and swans. The location was perfect. We wanted to stay more and have decided to come back later in the year for a weeks holiday. The staff were really helpful and even got me a cup for my morning tea to take back to the pods.

Yha Hawkshead pod”
The Yha is set in a beautiful area near Esthwaite lake. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The showers and toilets were immaculately clean. The breakfast is such good value for money. Good place to stay if your a rambler as it’s easy to reach other areas such as Coniston and Keswick. I can’t fault the place and we hope to stay again in the future. Oh and dogs are also welcome.

Lovely setting not great value for money compared to others been to. Was told by Agoda ground floor and own shower room. Mum will bad knee had to walk up to first floor , share bathroom and food very expensive and limited. No access to the Lake. When looked on YHA sight would have been just as cheep to book on them and would have been able to make more informed choose.

We try to make sure the information they use is correct and up to date but some times it may not be as clear as is on our own personal website. Hopefully this experience will not put you off staying with YHA again as we have many fantastically located hostels all around the country.
Glamping”
The people who work there are genuinely friendly and really work to make your experience one worth remembering. I stayed in the camping pods outside and it was cosy and cute. The facilities were always clean no matter what time it was. The self catering kitchen is nice and big so there wasn't a time were we had to wait in a queue to eat. It's great value for money. It's cheaper than staying inside the actual hostel AND you get to use all the hostel facilities for FREE! I would definitely go back there. The peacefulness was definitely my favourite part and waking up to the beautiful lake aswell

Nice hostel”
Good location in a quiet area. Nice buildings and a variety of options, tipee, pod, dormitory or family rooms. Easy access to plenty of hikes. Basic facilities and nice cafe.

Sorry to hear you had issues with the Wifi, being in our beautiful rural location our wifi is a bit limited and so is the phone signal. The perfect place to escape the everyday world.

Very Clean and Cheap”
Pros: Clean bed, room, shower and toilet, Cheap, Quiet, Friendly staff, Very good breakfast, Near the lake. Cons: a bit far away from the hawkshead bus stop, so you need to walk for almost a mile if you dont have a car

Good for a one night stopover”
Tiny room with two sets of bunks in made for a very hot night (though we were in the middle of a heatwave). Beds were comfy though. Having to book a time slot to use the shower to accommodate Covid restrictions seemed excessive and was rather awkward, especially when you're unable to check in before 5pm. The shower wasn't great either (temp or pressure). Food was OK, nothing special but we were too tired/hot/lazy(!) to go into Hawkshead, so nice that it was available.

At our youth hostel all the rooms have bunk beds in them, you can book a few rooms with a double bunk bed but you will need to make that selection when making your booking and larger rooms are available to book too. Following the government guidelines during the pandemic to keep our guests safe is a high priority for us, and luckily due to new guidelines the shower time slots have been dropped. We do offer food at our site so guests don't have to worry about the stress of booking a last minute table in the local pubs during the busy staycation year.

Abbiamo soggiornato una sola notte in uno dei POD, non sono forniti di letto matrimoniale ma è stato comunque molto bello passare una notte in una mini casetta di legno. La struttura dell'ostello è molto bella, con un ampio giardino vista lago. Staff amichevole e disponibile.

４人部屋の貸切でしたが、値段も手ごろで、清潔でした。庭からは湖も見え、YHAのある丘を下ったところのコンビニ(SPA)で冷食などを買い込んで、キッチンで調理することもでき、節約旅行には最高の環境でした。

キッチンルームやダイニングルームが素晴らしく、料理が自由にできます。現地でも多少は食材が買えますが、基本的には調味料などは持って行った方が良かったかも。夜中は、曇っていない瞬間に満点の星空も見えました。またいつかサイクリングにでも来てみたいです。
