Excellent value for money accommodation in Ipoh”
YMCA in Ipoh, is an excellent value for money accommodation. We stayed 4 nights in August 2018 and found that the staff very friendly and helpful. The whole building is very clean and our room was very large. All the basic requirements were in the room and they also supply 1 bottle of water for every person per day. In addition, there is a water dispenser on the ground floor. YMCA in Ipoh has a plan to renovate and modernise the building and I am sure that in the future the facilities will be greater.

The stay was excellent. I like how the place accepts all walks of life. I went with a muslim friend and at first I was skeptical because the name YMCA itself connotes Young Men's Christian Association and we were both female. However, after being assured by the friendly staffs it was okay, we truly enjoyed the stay. There's a Petron gas station just across the road for you to buy any basic necessities. Shoplots within 200 meters walking distance to the left. A Japanese garden within 100 meters walking distance to the right. In the compound itself, there's a badminton training centre and a gym facility. The room rate per night was quite reasonable. I'd definitely come back here again.

Antique facilities give a weird vibe about this place”
The facilities are very old, although still fully functional. My first night there was quite haunted as the poor sound insulation keeps you awake with all the walking, chattering and whatnot from the motel staff / travelers across the hallway. However, this place is quite easy to accustom to once you stay for quite a while. I wouldn't recommend for family trips or couple vacations though, more to travelers on a very VERY tight budget. The location is near a lot of places, Ipoh Parade for example.

The facilities are a bit old but overall is good in condition and the room is clean. Water heater is good, the water flow is strong. Aircond is cold. Overall very satisfy and is value for what we have paid. Location is good, near to Ipoh town and highway.

the room was very clean ..no bad smell..the staff were very friendly and helpfull.. ample of parking..location was great..afew basic things need to upgrade such as the bath towel,tv and aircon but other than that..its one of the best budget hotel in Ipoh

Nice but away from city centre”
We had a very nice double room with balcony. Very comfortable bed and clean. Nice to stay here if you have a scooter or car otherwise it is very far to walk to the city centre and interesting sites. Also no food around except the hotels own restaurant. One morning we woke up from smoking out mosquitos at the river next to the hotel. Super loud and bad smell and smoke with pesticides all over the place. Don't know how often that is done but it was not pleasant.

This hotel become our choices when its displayed on the Agoda as well after sort listed with price. we just drop in for little nap before all the way come back to Johor . Hotel room really clean with cold air conditioner. We able to check the room condition prior check in through Agoda. The receptionist much friendly with us and this hotel situated nearby town area so would not be a trouble for seeking a food. hahahax

Located in very peaceful environment”
The hotel is located in very peaceful and calm environment, situated at the corner of a big park/ garden at its right side just 400m away. The staff is very cooperative, all basic facilities to live a night or more are available. This hotel is not highly glamoured to put you more cost also, rather it is very simple and value of money. I lived two nights with my family and 3 kids, but felt no problem at all.

Taman D.R. Senivasagam is a popular public park and scenic and enjoy by most people; the river bund is ideally suitable for an evening walk as well; nice to know that you like your stay in our YMCA hostel. You are most welcome again.
Value for money and very near to a lot tourists spots ”
You will still need a car even though everywhere is nearby. It's impossible to walk (for sure). The room is clean, the day we went, for two days they were having some Christianity exhibition, which give us an "extra event" to walk around while resting. You may fetch some hot water from the lobby, there is no fridge nor big TV with many channels available in the room. But you still have wifi, there is place to hang some clothes to dry, everything is basic, no shampoo no bath gel, just bring your own. Towels provided looked yucks so fortunately we brought our own. Anyway, just assume you are just renting for a temporary room to bath and sleep will do, nothing more than that. Overall, since it's cheap, feels quite nice staying in the environment.

Cheap, clean and basic”
Rooms are reasonably clean. Room facilities are basic, no kettle but hot water can be collected from the water dispenser in the mail reception. Toilet is clean. Bed is firm, but pillows are a bit too soft and lumpy. Overall acceptable for an overnight stay due to the cheap price.
