One Amazing View!”
We Stayed Thuruliya Lodge on our way to Nuwara Eliya. It is actually located in Ramboda, which is a 45 minute drive from Nuwara Eliya. After a long day of driving from Kandy and exploring the tea fields, it was nice to be able to stay at a place located so close to the estates. The hotel is alongside the mountain road and has an amazing view of the valley below. Our room included the incredible view, tv, and air conditioning. If you have time to stay outside of Nuwara Eliya, this is a great option.

Amazing view”
Very easy to locate the hotel if you travel from north sri lanka to nuwara eliya. Its a little far from Nuwara Eliya city center. The view from the Panorama rooms is AMAZING !! Wifi speed is also good in the rooms. The furnishings of rooms are also nice and cozy. You can hear the Ramboda Waterfalls from the balcony of the panorama rooms. Its really soothing. Standard panorama room does not have AC, but its not noticeable as the place is pretty cold. We had to leave for Horton Plains in the morning 4:30, and the hotel was kind enough to pack us good sandwiches and water bottles for breakfast THAT early in the morning. Much recommended. Its a beautiful place.

The Thuruliya was an unexpected pleasure. ”
I stayed at the Thuruliya early in my tour of Sri Lanka and the guest house became the measure of all to come. It terms of location and value - none matched it. Please note that I enjoyed the guesthouse because there were so few tourists in Ramboda and the exploring and hiking was terrific fun. Saw monkeys, huge lizards and snakes, a mongoose and a wild pig!. Be forewarned this guest house is 20Km from Nuwara Eliya.

Good find steps away from Ramboda Falls”
The hotel is really close to Ramboda Falls and the Blue Fields Tea Factory. I think all rooms has fantastic views to the hills and the plantations. They recently opened a new wing that has larger junior suites - we recommend those. The breakfast is a set menu and is served at their restaurant balcony with breathtaking views. The same restaurant is serving an all-you-can eat buffet dinner for 1000 LKR with is a good deal. I recommend Thuruliya Lodge wholeheartedly.

Best Value and Location”
A lot of people book their hotels in nuwara eliya, and its a pity!...thuruliya lodge is definintely a hidden gem. its got the best view you have ever seen. The place is a 3 star at best, but its got everything you would ever need. dont let the bad reviews fool you, its an amazing place and well worth the money.

Waterfall and fireflies in Sri Lanka tea country”
We had a lovely stay at Thuruliya Lodge. The room was lovely and comfortable. I didn't realise Ramboda Falls was a bit out of town, but the view of the falls, valley, and sounding hills made it totally worthwhile. Fireflies were flitting around the balcony at night giving our stay a magical feel. The staff were very friendly and helped us arrange our transport to the train station when it was time to leave. And the upside of being a little out of town meant lots of stunning views as we wound around the mountain by three wheeler.

Brief stay but breathtaking views”
Thuraliya Lodge is a little house nestled among the hills near Ramboda Falls and around 20 minutes from the main city centre of Nuwara Eliya. Its rooms are large and clean. Room 104 had an absolutely amazing view of the entire valley, including a waterfall, and it was really peaceful. The staff were also friendly and the owners also run an adjoining plant nursery. My girlfriend could not have loved the views more. A second storey is being constructed, but this did not hamper the experience in any way. The breakfast was also good.

Wonderful location with Great Value of Money”
Thuruliya Lodge is as it is, what they have advertised. We stayed for one night here. It has got an wonderful location. Once we woke up from the sleep at morning, we can see a breathtaking view from our window. Every room has got a veranda but the view can sometime hinder due to TV antenna beside every veranda. It has go 2 beautiful waterfalls very nearby. Food is very delicious specially breakfast. We took our Evening tea, Dinner and Breakfast in restaurant (They provide in room even) because once we sit in restaurant we did not feel like to get up for nice weather and breathtaking view. But if you want to see Ramboda falls with more nice view then Ramboda Waterfall hotel is also very nice and best for that place but with a little higher price. While sleeping at night our blanket was not properly cleaned from dusts and I got dust allergy. However, Staffs were very nice with smiley faces.

Relaxing time at Thuruliya Lodge”
Before writing the review, I would like to share a little story of mine. We travelled in Sri Lanka by self-driving and we thought that we could just reach Thuruliya Lodge smoothly. Well, it was not like what we expected. When we were just 2km away from the Thuruliya Lodge, there was a very serious landslide which blocked our way to the hotel so we called the staff and he told us about the alternative way to get to the hotel. The staff was really kind & caring because he kept calling us to make sure that we were fine. Well, in the end we still get lost in the middle of no where because the area was really rural and the weather was extremely terrible. Even Googles Map was not functioning and didn't know the way so we just asked for help from the local TukTuk driver to lead us to the place. Finally, we got to the hotel around 9pm. Well, here's my personal review about Thuruliya Lodge. We had a nice and comfortable night here! We booked a standard room with panorama view which was really impressive! The room was big enough and clean as well. In the morning, you can enjoy the scenery of the beautiful tea plantation and of course the refreshing atmosphere here. The food at the cafe was good as well and at a reasonable price with a big portion. Strongly recommended to everyone!

Relaxing place. great for a short stay”
We were on a road trip in Sri Lanka and only stayed at Thuruliya Lodge for 1 night. The hotel was the perfect place to chill and relax after a full day of driving and sightseeing. The hotel's 360 degrees view of Sri Lanka's tea plantations is fantastic! It is very quiet and the staff is very friendly and helpful - like everywhere else in Sri Lanka -. They were kind enough to provide a room Free of Charge for our driver and to open the kitchen earlier and prepare a breakfast box for us as we were leaving at 6am (the kitchen usually opens at 7). The room was really large, clean and comfortable. The wifi was really good. However, this hotel is not exactly IN Nuwaya Eliya, it is about 20 minutes drive but it is better than any other place we have seen in Nuwara! I highly recommend it!

Lovely small hotel in a remote location”
We really, really enjoyed our time at Thuruliya Lodge. Considering the price, it's exceptional value. 1. Very clean and spacious room, with outdoor patio. We stayed in room 104 which literally has an entire wall of windows with the most beautiful views I've ever seen (room is located on the corner). Aim for that room as the other rooms only have a frontal view. 2. The view is truly amazing. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I can't stress this enough. 3. The hotel staff (two young men) are exceptional. They're kind, attentive and answer any questions that arise. Both speak English quite well, but one of them is almost fluent. 4. There are a couple of different hikes in the area, so it's easy to stay at the lodge (and stay busy) for two full days. Something to note though, this hotel is still undergoing construction (the top two floors are literally only cement beams). So from the outside it doesn't look so attractive - step into the rooms and you'll be happy though! Great, great value.

Outstanding”
It was a perfect stay in Thuruliya lodge. We have enjoyed every minute. There is almost nothing around (except some shops and two other hotels). So it is very quiet and the air is so fresh. Cannot stop enjoying the nice view. The hotel itself is definitly worth the money. It is a good 3-star hotel wirh an outstanding breakfast and the people are so kind and friendly. The room was good, noch AC but fine and hot water. even a TV with so many channels. We will be back for sure

Excellent location and decent service”
We enjoyed our stay at thuruliya. The hotel is about 30-40 minutes far from nuwara eliya and on the kandy-nuwara eliya road.we stayed in standard panaromic view room. The room doesnot have any A/C which you donot require considering the climate at nuwara eliya. The ammenties are all basic. The service offered was fast. We enjoyed the sunrise. The hotel is perfect for one night stay. Highly reccomended.

I stayed for one night only. A nice clean lodge. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Staff was cooperative and efficient. Location is bit far from nuwara eliya but view is good from room balcony. Best part was breakfast at restaurant balcony area. We really enjoyed breakfast at restaurant having a beautiful view and nice staff.

good rooms - but this is not in nuwara eliya”
first off - let me clarify - this lodge is not in nuwara eliya. it is actually in ramboda which is around 20+ km from nuwara. on the winding mountain roads, usually packed with traffic, that means at least an hours drive. if you are planning to reach nuwara by train or air taxi, it will be an expensive ride to ramboda. it also means you will not be going back n forth to the nuwara multiple times in the day. on the other hand, the lodge is a good value. the staff is friendly. the view from the rooms are great. everything is very clean and comfortable. i would recommend this place - esp if you are travelling by private car. the view are seriously very nice. a small waterfall is in walking distance as well.

Ideal away from it all location service ”
Property on the Kandy Nuwara Eliya road with stunning views - you enter from the top reception restaurant and rooms are on the lower floors - as property built on the side of a hill - rooms spacious comfortable and clean - staff through very helpful and attentive - food good and reasonably priced - manager very helpful - would definitely recommend and stay if in the area again

Very nice stay... again!”
It was third time at this hotel for me. Everything was very good as usual. The only negative thing is that restaurant menu was a little bit boring compared to 2015. Stuff and managers were perfect. Location and view is the best in Nuwara Eliya area.
