Our best experience in Sri Lanka”
when i asked my husband which part of our trip he liked most, he replied me without hesitation that it was our stay at villa acacia. when i chose villa acacia among other accomodation in nuwara eliya it was mainly based on the balance between its outlook and price. it was much much more beautiful than the photos. thus we have already given some of our good photos taken to the lovely host laki, hoping that he would show the "reality" of villa acacia to other tourist, so that they will not miss such a nice place. villa acacia was very new. everything was newly renovated. the most impressive thing about the villa to me was the panoramic view of nuwara eliya with extra-large glass windows (you should say doors) at the sitting room, also the real fireplace which was really useful in cold evening at the hill top, and the large terrace with lawns that we could directly stepped from 2 out of 3 rooms. i must not forget to mention about the food. there was no menu but laki (the owner) prepared the best for you. he prepared 2 traditional sri lankan dinner and 2 sri lankan breakfast for us (our first sri lankan breakfast first and ever). the food was nicely presented and of course really tasty. i had one of the best sri lankan food item here which was the dessert of our first night of stay. it was the buffalo milk curd with honey. sooooo yummy~ the dining environment was also the best out of all the places we stayed in this trip. candle light, long table with nice table cloth, nice cutlery and of course the real fireplace. there was also an entertainment room at the top floor. there was billiard, table tennis, board games and a large tv. we enjoyed the time there in the evening. i thought the reason why we loved this place so much was because of the host laki. he was there taking cared of our stay. he was sincere and fun. you can feel how much he was happy to be a host. thank you laki!

A cosy 'like-home' stay”
We were self-driving from the cultural triangle to south-west shore for a beach part of our 2 weeks holiday in Sri-Lanka. Nuwara Eliya was chosen as a suitable and interesting place to have a break on our way and look at the tea hills. We spent 1 night in Villa Acacia. And would say we put ourselves in careful hand of the staff of the hotel. They upgraded our room, they prepared a fantastic dinner with very tasty carries and dessert which allow me to say that was the best food we had during our stay. The villa is located a bit aside from the city centre but it is close to the Gregory lake and in a very quiet part of the city. Room was clean and good in size. The stuff, as I said, were very attentive, helpful and friendly. We had no any problems with the room equipment. Definitely, next time when I go to Nuwara Eliya, I will choose this villa.

best stay ever”
i have never been to such a wonderful hotel ever. coming to villa acacia was the best decision i have made in my visit to sri lanka. as nuwara eliya is a hill country, the temperature here is at a constant low. the rooms had warmers to keep us warm so that is a plus point. when we first arrived, we were shocked. this place was so beautiful, you would not believe you are only paying this price for such a wonderful place. we checked out the rooms and we were amazed. the rooms were so well furnished and they had such a beautiful view of the lake gregory and the mountains. not to mention that the rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was extremely friendly. especially the manager and part time staff). they provided us with what i can say the best customer service ever. the breakfast that they provided was one of the best breakfast i have ever had in sri lanka. it was authentic, tasty and healthy at the same time. they also provided dinner if you'd like, charging a reasonable price of 15 usd per pax. we were quite reluctant to spend initially but we eventually gave it a try on the second night of our stay. and we were certainly not disappointed. the food was fabulous and they were all prepared by the local people who worked there. also, there were nice facilities like a pool table and a table tennis table within the villa. it may not be the bet facilities you can find ain a hotel but it was amazing to know that they had such facilities here in such a low-priced hotel. in summary, this hotel is definitely worth your money and i would even pay double the price to stay in such a villa again

Brilliant little villa overseeing Lake Gregory”
Three things describe Villa Acacia to a T; Food, Hospitality, and Location. I was there with my wife and 3-year-old son, and all in all, we had a good time. The view overlooking Lake Gregory is to die-for, especially during the early morning hours with a cup of hot tea. Person who runs the operations was fantastic, and his team was well trained in terms of guest management. Food, prepared was sumptuous. While we did face a problem with the WiFi services while there, I do believe it had to do more with the lack of adequate infrastructure that seems to plague Nuwara Eliya as a whole. I definitely recommend Villa Acacia to any and all who feel Nuwara Eliya is a place they need to do a stopover at, with the primary intention being some much-needed R&R.

Fantastic stay at Villa Acacia”
I was in Nuwara Eliya for 2 full days and had booked Villa Acacia through Agoda, based on the reviews. I was apprehensive before getting there, but all those were laid to rest when we were received very warmly by the Manager Mohan and his staff. They were friendly and ready to serve dinner even when we reached late in the evening. The next day when we stepped out into the backyard from the room, we were drawn instantly to the fantastic view of the lake with the hills in the background. We had a very pleasant experience in the Villa and the staff were very friendly and flexible. This enabled us to have a good base and visit all the key sights in Nuwara Eliya. Thanks you Mohan and staff. Your efforts are well appreciated. We will come back again for sure.

The perfect homestay”
If you do visit Nuwara Eliya. Take my word for it, you must stay in this place. This is one of the best home style stays we have ever had. The good stuff first. The place is clearly someone's private retreat cum a hotel. The finishing and fit-out is superb! Modern and sleek unlike most other places I have seen. The common room (living room really) opens up to huge picture windows giving an amazing view over the lake and the surrounding gardens and hills. VERY COOL this. The place is extremely comfortable and truly unique. Top floor they have a games room with billiards and ping-pong to pass the time our kids (teenagers) loved it. The rooms are comfortable, good sized & well equipped. Anyhow we don't spend much time in them, any chance we went to the living room to spend time there, its just that gorgeous. The team are the nicest and most helpful group of people. Openhearted, friendly and keen to make your stay as comfy as possible. We had all our b'fast's and one dinner there & it was truly delicious. Cooked for us to order, it really was superb. Original Sri Lankan food, tuned to our non-spicy taste buds. Great job there, the whole family enjoyed it immensely. One thing to consider. The place is a bit off the track & signage is not super (good thing the provided map is very accurate) but once you get there its worth the trouble to find it. We had our own driver and vehicle, that made it easy, but if you travel without own transport it’s a lot less convenient. It’s about a 500-700 meter walk down to the main road to catch a cab. This is pretty much the only bad thing I can find about the place. The other thing...It’s a VILLA...not a hotel. So don't go looking for hotel facilities (pub, gym etc.), make sure you come with the right expectations. Said this, as a whole, if I was to go back to Nuwara Eliya, this would be the one and only place for me to stay in. Great location, great place, great food and people keen to look out for you. What else you need?

The best view, the best villa!”
Most probably the best place in Nuwara Eliya - no other villa would have such a breathtaking view! Slightly away from the noisy railway station, it is located on top of the hill right next to the beautiful Gregory lake and makes you feel like an English colonist on a break in a marvellous resort. The staff is absolutely lovely and helpful, their cheerful smiles made our day. The best breakfast we had ib Sri Lanka we had at Villa Acacia, we tried plenty of local food cooked brilliantly. The rooms were spacious and the warm blankets didn't let us freeze during the night, the heater was working well too. We adored the terrace and the dining hall, designed with style. Thanks again for our lovely stay, Villa Acacia:)

Brand new Luxury 5 room Villa overlooking the lake”
We stayed here for 3 days and nights over the Christmas period and our first good memory of this place was the absolutely amazing food. We wanted to experience the best food Sri Lanka had to offer and we found it here at Villa Acacia. Not only did the resident cook provide us with up to 5 different vegetarian curries at short notice, but the serving size is extremely generous too. This is authentic Sri Lankan home-cooked food that was clearly prepared by a chef with more than 30 years of experience. In addition to the incredible food, the villa is brand new, and has top of the range furniture and fittings. The shower was hot at any time of the day, the large sofa and huge TV was very nice to sink into after a long day's bike ride, and they even have ping-pong and a pool table for those who are restless. Sam, the resident manager was very helpful and went out of his way to enhance our stay. The whole team of staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. If you want to stay in a new luxury villa in Nuwara Eliya and experience the best food in Sri Lanka, this will not disappoint.

A truly wonderful experience ”
I had the most wonderful experience at Villa Acacia. The young men who run it are truly gentlemen and helpful without being overbearing. The view from the living area is unbeatable. The beds are comfortable with high quality bed linen and beautiful quilts, which is perfect for the cooler Nuwara Eliya climate. Villa Acacia is a five minute drive from the centre of town I n a very peaceful residential area. Take advantage of the location and take an early morning stroll around Gregory lake. I will be back!

Happy stay, very friendly staff, excellent food”
We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Acacia. The room is spacious and clean. It gives you warm feeling of staying at a chalet. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Tea or coffee is available anytime you like for free of charge. They would ask you all the time whether you would like some tea or coffee. This is very nice. Food is excellent there. The best Sri Lankan food we had throughout our journey in Sri lanka. If we go back to Nuwara Eliya, we will go back to this hotel again.

Absolutely beautiful!”
Our one night stay at the Villa Acacia was great. The view of the Lake Gregory from the Villa was gorgeous. The staff including Mohan was very friendly and attentive. My two little kids felt very comfortable at the Villa. This was one of the best places we stayed at during our 8 day trip around Sri Lanka. I highly recommend the Villa Acacia to all my family and friends who will be visiting Nuwara Eliya.

Really nice staff very relaxing stay”
One of the things I enjoyed most about my stay in Nuwara Eliya was walking into town through the quiet village with all the local people nodding, smiling with a hello from the kids, Villa Acacia really is in a fantastic location looking directly over lake Gregory. We would walk into town via lake Gregory, across the horse racing track and then through Victoria gardens to make a nice walk into town before retreating to our room for a relaxing afternoon.

Come for the view, stay for the food!”
We stayed for two nights in January 2016. Villa Acacia sits on the top of a hill overlooking Lake Gregory. The first things you are struck by are the sweeping views of Lake Gregory from the lobby/breakfast area. Absolutely wonderful! The staff were very accomodating and friendly. They made every effort to meet all our requests. Their english is limited but they were clearly trying as much as they could. Our room was very nice by Sri Lankan hotel standards. It was spacious and comfortable, and clean. But Villa Acacia's real secret, the real reason to extend a stay here is the amazing Sri Lankan food prepared by Siva, the resident cook. We had the two best Sri Lankan breakfasts of our trip here. We wished that we had dinner here, too. Note: this is not a restaurant and there is no menu. You talk about it with Siva and he'll make you a meal. It's also very quiet on top of the hill- no traffic noise. The only small negative was the staff talking loudly outside the room, on the stairs and in the lobby area- they could benefit from learning to speak quietly indoors. The location is as described in reviews- about a 20 minute walk from the main sites downtown. When we return to Nuwara Eliya, we will stay here again!

It was like a home to us!”
It was a nice place to relax and feeling like home! There was a living room and a dining room inside the villa. We had our dinner beside a fireplace, it made us feel like home! As we didn't do much at my stay in Nuwara Eliya, we went back to the villa early, and the best thing is, there were a small pool table and table tennis table inside the villa, we could play and take a stroll around. The staff was good and friendly! The accommodation for drivers should be established. As we didn't know that they can't provide place for our driver to stay, cause us to worry about him a bit, but our driver was kind and didn't complain or anything.

Heaven on earth :)”
We simply fell in love with the view from the lobby of the hotel. The staff bowled us over with their service and friendliness. Special vegetarian food prepared on request on the first day. On day-2, the staff kindly allowed my wife into the kitchen and got the necessary ingredients to prepare a South Indian vegetarian meal. When the staff saw that the room we were checked in was cramped for our family of 4 with all the luggage, with our permission, they shifted all our luggage into a super sized room which was very comfortable. Thanks Mohan Raj & family for all your service. Thanks Joseph Ratnayake for your helf. Only negative point is that this hotel needs to be advertised widely so that people in Nuwara Eliya are aware of its location (we had some difficulty in finding it)

Gorgeous villa with striking view of Lake Gregory”
Our stay at this villa was highly satisfactory, in large part due to the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Mohan the hotel manager. He provided assistance in many ways, including arranging transport to nearby places of interest and even further away, in our case to Adam's Peak. Two thumbs up for their service, and also Rajah's, the taciturn yet effective driver. And on top of that, the mist-on, mist-off hilltop view of the beautiful Lake Gregory and surrounding areas in Nuwara Eliya is second-to-none.

Wonderful...”
My husband and myself had such a fine time at Villa Acacia. The staff went out of their way to treat us with a cake when they learnt we had just got married. They were very welcoming. The food was also great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to Nuwara Eliya.

Amazing view, plush interiors, warm hospitality”
If I do go back to Sri Lanka on a vacation, I will definitely visit Nuwara Eliya, and stay at Villa Acacia. A 5/5 for us. From an amazing view, comfortable room, plush interiors to warm hospitality and sumptuous breakfast; it had everything we could ask for.

cool, comfortable”
Mohan and his nephew, Minoj (sp?) were very friendly and eager to make the stay welcoming. They arranged for a driver to take me to Horton Plains which is a must see. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable and have good western bathrooms. It is a bit outside of the town of Nuwara Eliya so you need a tuk tuk to get into town at night. The breakfast was nice and included in the price. I ate dinner one night at the hotel and while the food was good, it was definitely overpriced, by a lot; almost Rs. 2100. Overall, I recommend Villa Acacia, just eat dinner in town somewhere.

Great location, nice view”
Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful highland getaway in tea country, cool weather and great scenery. The best treat for me was the little strawberry farm just up the road from Villa Acacia where i got homemade jams (they grow other vegetables, herbs, fruits & plants too). The other was the Mackwoods Tea factory. Villa Acacia is a nice villa with all the spoils of modern day architecture, furnishings & general amenities. Traveled with a friend and we spent just 2 days there in Dec 2012--at the time, the villa had opened not too long ago, so service was not the best of all the hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka. E.g. wifi wasn't up & running; our luggages were left in the living room until late in the evening when we were ready to retire to our bedroom; the staff was not fully prepared to handle the overwhelming number of guests (by the villa's standards -- a small & new 4-5 bedroom villa that was fully booked) with what, i'm sure, were numerous guests' requests. Our duvets did not have covers on one night. But all teething problems i believe. The chef however cooks a mean spread of curries & local dishes... probably one of the best authentic Sri Lankan meals we had! So good!
