Nice views”
Views were great here. Rooms were nice and cosy. But it was far from the town and you would need a tuk tuk. They took such a long time to check us in and though we told them to have breakfast ready by 8am cos we had a train to catch, they began serving us the meal only at 8.15am. Also, there was a dishonest person (not sure if it was a staff but thet knew him) who tried to cheat us and another couple over how much to pay the driver who took us to the train station.

Paid for the stunning view”
Stayed in Deluxe Lake View in early Feb 2017. Pros: The villa is very British style with very very nice view and cosy rooms. It's really relaxing and enjoying barely to stay/dine at the sitting room with the stunning lake view. Shower with strong hot water. Cons: The room rate was quite high comparing to similar guest houses in Sri Lanka. Overall the villa is not worth for charge. The staff was not very helpful when we asked about transportation from train station to the villa, just informed us to sort it out ourselves. No toiletries were provided. Shower facility...um... door could not be closed as it was blocked by the rain-forest head! I couldn't believe the management would let it as it is for long.

Nice hotel”
location, room
The hotel is nice. It'a a bit remote in the hill but few minutes of a nice walk or a tuktuk will do the job. It has a really nice view on the lake. The room was really nice, looks more like a Swiss chalet that what you can see in other parts of Sri Lanka. The staff helped us organize the day trip to Horton plains and everything went well. Would recommand this hotel

Comfortable stay at a reasonable price”
home-cooked food and nice viewpoint from the hotel
The service staff is patient, accommodating and polite. Do not miss the home-cooked breakfast, it is definitely worth the stay! Very tasty and comforting food to enjoy up the hills, when the temperature outside is low.. The living room is very cozy offering a nice viewpoint of the city. The room is ok, with a big bed for 2 persons and a small bathroom though. Some of the rooms have view on the garden. The hotel is located on a hill, so the walk to the city is quite long, about 20 min. Not an issue in the afternoon but you will have to take a tuck tuck from town back to the hotel at night. Nice place overall

The room it's clean but small with ordinary furnished no tv no fridge in room There is big hall with Large dining table with another smaller it can shear with another guests, free wifi Hot water available My suggestion to choose delux room with lake view and garden entrance

The best view, the best villa!”
Breathtaking view, splendid delicious breakfast, spacious rooms in colonial style
Most probably the best place in Nuwara Eliya - no other villa would have such a breathtaking view! Slightly away from the noisy railway station, it is located on top of the hill right next to the beautiful Gregory lake and makes you feel like an English colonist on a break in a marvellous resort. The staff is absolutely lovely and helpful, their cheerful smiles made our day. The best breakfast we had ib Sri Lanka we had at Villa Acacia, we tried plenty of local food cooked brilliantly. The rooms were spacious and the warm blankets didn't let us freeze during the night, the heater was working well too. We adored the terrace and the dining hall, designed with style. Thanks again for our lovely stay, Villa Acacia:)

You wished this was your home”
View, service and feels just like home
Villa Acacia is probably the best stay I had in Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful villa which overlooks the gorgeous Lake Gregory. Sometimes the mist covers the view but it disappears in a while. Although it is situated atop a hill, you can always request for a three-wheeler to bring you to town which is a short 5-10 min ride away. The service is excellent and the staff are attentive. You could just stay in and relax the entire day away with the wide screen TV and ping pong table in the living room. You wished this was your holiday home.

Staff were exceptional”
Food. Lake view. Welcoming staff.
We stayed at Villa Acacia for only two nights having arrived from Kandy by train. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate. Being tired from the journey, we decided to eat dinner at the villa our first night. The home-cooked local food was delicious and prepared to perfection. So much food was prepared, it could have fed six guests! The manager was kind and welcoming and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. They arranged a driver for us to Horton's Plain and at a very reasonable rate as well. The villa is of modern design and has good wi-fi connection in the main living room area. Thanks especially to Vinoj for making our stay comforable and memorable. See you next time ;-)

friendly staff, very nice view, clean rooms
Our stay at Villa Acacia was very pleasant. The staff members were very helpful and kind. They upgraded our room to their best one for free as it was empty due to low season, brought us some hot water bottles as the night was cold. There is a snooker and a ping pong table in the house. Breakfast was very good. It would be really easy to stay there for a few days chilling and going around the tea fields region.

warm, friendly staff, comfortable
When we arrived, it was cold and raining. The staff brought us hot tea and made us feel comfortable. They gave us a heater to use in the room and even brought hot water bottles to put under the sheets in the bed. There was a nice fireplace in the common area and there were large windows with a gorgeous view. There was a small pool table upstairs and when we were there, there were some noisy kids who played on it for hours and made a lot of noise dropping the cue sticks and balls. I imagine that normally the place would be quite quiet, though. The food was delicious. I believe dinner cost around $12 per person and breakfast was included.

A home away from home!”
Tremendous staff. Beautiful home. Awesome home-cooked local food!
I stayed for two nights while driving through the hill country of Sri Lanka. Villa Acacia was my Sri Lankan home...away from home. It is a family-run guest house, on a hill, overlooking Lake Gregory. The home is of modern design, well appointed furniture, tasteful local art, huge living room area and recreational area for guests to use on the third floor (pingpong table, pool table, TV). The food is prepared with care and was THE best food I ate while in all of Sri Lanka. The family is warm, friendly and some staff speak English well. They are very thoughtful and caring and go beyond themselves to make my stay enjoyable. The view from the home is breathtaking... but you need a tuk tuk to get down to the main town. It is in walking distance to the town center but I'd recommend a tuk tuk to get back up the hillside after dark. I would most certainly stay here again...and plan to when I return to the area. Thank you so much for a "home' away from from. Exceptional guest house that I would highly recommend for any traveler who would like to experience local charm and hospitality. ;) A must place to stay.

It was a lovely stay. Bit of a rough road though.”
Friendly Staff, Good Local food, Pool table to pass time
The stay was no doubtful. It was great. The season was a rainy season. But me and my wife enjoyed a lot at the hotel. I have to mention here about the staff. Very helpful staff and the owner is very lucky to have a staff like that. Other than that the cook was very friendly. We liked his south Indian food very much. The road was bit rough to approach. May be because of the rain. I hope they will rectify it before my next visit. Generally, It was a nice villa, which can be recommended to a person visits to Nuwara Eliya.

Gorgeous villa with striking view of Lake Gregory”
Large living & dining room (communal space), great self-catering facilities, amazingly helpful caretakers
Our stay at this villa was highly satisfactory, in large part due to the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Mohan the hotel manager. He provided assistance in many ways, including arranging transport to nearby places of interest and even further away, in our case to Adam's Peak. Two thumbs up for their service, and also Rajah's, the taciturn yet effective driver. And on top of that, the mist-on, mist-off hilltop view of the beautiful Lake Gregory and surrounding areas in Nuwara Eliya is second-to-none.

The delicious home made food, the peaceful location, the view
We really enjoyed our stay at villa acacia. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. It is more like a guest house than hotel but the location and rooms were lovely. The villa has a stunning view of the lake and it is very quiet, a nice spot to relax for the night. We ate in for dinner and the food was sensational, the best Sri lankan food of our trip. Breakfast was also local and delicious.

warm staff, amazing location, new and luxurious villa.
We stayed at Villa Acacia for 4 nights over Christmas! We wish we could have stayed longer! The staff are absolutely amazing and even gave us Christmas treats on Christmas day! They are the most caring and friendly people who genuinely wanted to help us make the best of our stay! The villa has a beautiful 180 degree bay window over looking Lake Gregory, the mountains and people working in the vegetable patches. We could have happily stayed in the villa for the whole time we were there! It had everything...Delicious food, great views, but best of all...warm personalities! Thank you Villa Acacia!

Wondeful view of Lake Gregory which is also walking distance if you are in decent shape. Otherwise just enjoy it from the huge windows in the dining area. Rooms are nice aswell and as Nuwara Eyila is a bit cooler than other places in Sri Lanka it was great to have real duvets, very comfortable. Do not eat dinner here - they don't have a restaurant, so it is very basic. However, breakfast was very tasty and homecooked to perfection.
