Yongsan hotels & places to stay

The hotel is one stop away from Seoul station, making it easily accessible to number of popular places like Myeong dong & dongdaemum. You can also visit the blind alley raccoon cafe that is located within a short walking distance. However, traditional local food options are rather limited except for a few small family-owned establishments. Service was simple and efficient. The hotel is comfortable but does not have many facilities unlike larger hotel chains, which makes it a good place to stay if you are going to be out most of the day. Overall great value at the promo room rate, although the curtains were quite dusty in our room, and for some reason we were only given one bath towel a day (we booked a double room). Also, the bathroom is slightly see-through in our room, which we were not aware of at the time of booking. But still, a great value by most standards.

If you get a decent deal on this place, it's top-notch. Nice gym, sauna, and pool. Spacious and immaculate, comfy room. Delightful staff. In a big city in the US, it would cost >$300 a night. Don't eat in the hotel though. Unless you really want room service. There is a walking connection to the Yongsan train station and mall, with tons of more reasonable food options.

Ibis style is conveniently located at yongsan station which is a 10min walk from the hotel. From the station, you can exit from exit 3 and there’s a dedicated pathway to the hotel. Yongsan station is just 2 stops to Seoul station, and 4 stops to hongdae. There’s another sinyongsan station just a street away from yongsan station. It is 4 or 5 stops to myeong dong. Very convenient. There’s an IPARK mall nearby that has EVERYTHING. Huge grocery stall, lots of food and movie theatre. The dragon hill spa is a street from yongsan station too! Room is clean and safe! I used the gym twice. It is clean and they provide towels. It is sufficiently equipped too! Convenient store is at level 2. Level 2 is also the level you walk to the metro station. There’s a French cafe at level 1 which I had breakfast. A croissant and latte! It was to my liking! On my last day, I figured that we have an airport bus 6030 that operates every 30 min at 15,000won!! it’s a 1hour ride! 😊

The hotel has everything you need from hairdryer to dishwasher. It was so convenient that we could stay in the hotel all day. The hotel was also connected to the Seoul Dragon City which is also connected to the Yongsan station. Unfortunately, other than Yongsan station, there is really nothing much in the surrounding. Staff were absolutely pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to families.

I really appreciate Andy coz he has initiative to personally message his guest on how to get to their place and replying to some queries prior to arrival. I also like our room coz it's spacious and we have our own toilet. I also appreciate Andy coz he's very helpful to his guest and very approachable. Those are the things that set Korstay apart from other hostels that we booked in Yongsan. For improvement side, I think the blanket (comforter) needs to be replaced since it kinda old and the feather pricks me lol. Overall, I would recommend Korstay to my friends. I gave this hostel’s facilities a 5 star review not because it has top of the line or high tech facilities. No! It is because among the hostels in Seoul that we have stayed, this is the only hostel that has a kitchen, dining and laundry area in every floor. Free use of washing machine and free laundry soap. The kitchen has a microwave oven and stove, refrigerator and utensils. We stayed at room 401, the room is small. It could only fit in 2 small or 1 medium or large sized luggage. That is if you still want to have a space to move around. There is a cabinet complete with hangers. There is also a blower, small mirror, dresser and a small bathroom. There is also a mini ref in the room. We just buy prepacked food in Lotte Mart and microwave it. Free breakfast is just bread, strawberry jam and coffee. Free hot and cold water. Bring a water bottle or jug and refill everytime you go out so that you don’t have to buy water. Bottled water in convenience stores is around krw1000 to 5000 depends on the size. The hostel is around 700 meters away from Seoul Station exit 15. It is also the same entance to AREX airport/express train. Jongpa-ro is the street at the back of Seoul Station, AREX exit/entrance. If you are going to take the airport shuttle. Go down Seoul Station. Facing Seoul Station, go to your left. Just walk until you see a tunnel. Turn right to that tunnel and then right again. Cross the street when you see the second pedestrian lane. On your right, just go straight until you see a shop that sells tires amd kitchen untensils. That’s Jongpa-ro 73. Turn left, you see 7-11. Same building as 7-11. The reception area or office is on the third floor. There is a lift/elevator. When you enter the bulding there is a stairs, go up the lift is on the right side. The owner is very nice. I emailed him and asked if it is possible we check in early. He did not reply. The stay was brief, part of a visit to Seoul. The hotel is small but clean and comfortable and within walking distance to the subway and bus stop and a few minutes taxi ride to Namdemun, Seoul station, Yongsan Station, National war memorial, National museum, Itaewon among other places. For a quick jaunt to Seoul on a budget the hotel was a good deal compared to other hotels in the area.

modern, nice, clean hotel with new equipment, whirlpool type bathtub with shower. if you forgot something they have everything already in the room although i wouldn't use it since it's for every guest. it's big bottles like you would buy yourself in your own home. even combs and brushes which is pushing the "sharing" rule to the limit. but if you stay clear of these items everything else is top notch, clean and new. you can't go wrong with getting a room here...and yes there are places to eat across the busy street along with gate 18 (i think) to yongsan. you could cut through the base to get to iteawon.

This hotel is walking distance from Seoul station where is connected to many subway line, railway, airport line. It's convenient to travel to many attractive place in Seoul if you stay near Seoul station. In the first place, I did not expect much about this hotel because the pictures and review in website is just fine, but this hotel surprised me. It's cheap, clean, nice smell, silent at night, many wonderful facilities, nice bed. And what I impress the most is toilet which is big, warm, clean. Although, they have no elevator and breakfast, but it's OK.I stay at 2nd floors.

the hotel is located at a convenient location which is between seoul station & yongsan station. so if you planned to take ktx at either stations, then it's best choice for staying at this hotel. the price is so nice which is even lower than some hostel or love motel. the service of receiption is so nice & they know english well. but the room is quite hot due to hot floor. i have to switch on air-con even it's winter.

okay so to be fair the english here is not that good. however i didn't have any problem communicating with the staff and the mama of the house, who is SO sweet. everything is straightforward and really clean! the roof is nice to hang out on, the traditonal style room is big and pretty. breakfast is a home cooked dream. super close to a couple traim stations. check out dragon hill spa by the yongsan station if you stay here!

Pencil Hostel provides a comfortable living space in a convenient location. I stayed for 10 days in the Korean room with the ondol floor, (heated floor), a private room for 2 or a small family, which is terrific when you really want to experience a traditional way of living. The heated floors are so nice in winter and easy to sleep on. When trying to decide between this room and one with a bed, it may be helpful to try sleeping on the floor at home before booking. Sleeping on the futon here is akin to sleeping on a plush floor carpet. Asians believe it is better for your back and I tend to agree. Once I got used to it, I came to prefer it and now I really recommend it because it’s such a great night’s sleep ^.^ YooJin is a great cook, I recommend opting in for the breakfast, it is well worth the money. YooJin is very friendly and she truly wants her customers to have a great experience. She tries very hard to accommodate her guests and to make sure they are comfortable and happy. She can answer many questions you may have and recommend places to visit while in Korea. Thank you for all your help, YooJin ~^^ I will definitely come back to stay here again. This hostel was so great for me because of its safe and convenient location, easy access to transportation and short walking distances to restaurants and shops, neighborhood grocery, convenience stores, ATMs and banks, the university … anything you could ever need is right here. Plus it is just a few subway stops from many of the major attractions that draw tourists here. You can walk to the nearest subway station in just 5 minutes or to Seoul Station, which is only 15 minutes by foot, where you will find Lotte Outlet among many other shops, restaurants and airport transportation. I have visited Korea many times and this is the best place I have ever stayed, so many plusses and amenities for so little money :)

It was a really good experience. I stayed there for one night and everything was perfect to me. First of all, its extremely near the mtr station, to say within 2 mins walking distance and those famous sightseeing spots are just few metro station away. Secondly, the guesthouse is clean, tidy up and you can see from many small details that the owner have paid a lot of attention on the decoration of the guesthouse and tried to make the guests feel like home. They were very nice to me. Plus, the interior design of guesthouse are just like home of local korean family, so it would be perfect for those who wanna experience the local korean life. Was satisfied and Strongly recommend to all of all especially those who want to save yet pursue good living quality.

This place was super nice for me and my wife. The room was so sweet and romantic. Also very neat and organized. what we really enjoyed is the striking Namsan tower view. It can be caught clearly. Especially at night the view is a killer. So wonderful! The host prepared almost everything we need while travelling. It does really make our travel easy and convinent. 4G egg prepared for us was really helpful. We can check map, send message everywhere in Seoul. In addition, This place was near with three subway stations. When I check the map, I found that it is right in the middle of Seoul. Myeongdong is just 5 mins by subway. Dongdamum, Namdaemum, Young San… Every travel spot is right near this place. In street, lots of restaurants, bars, markets are accessible by walking.

We have used agoda to find hotels for several years but this was our first time finding a studio apartment. We definitely found the kitchen and washing machine helpful as this was the last week of a multiple country/city trip. The agoda description and other reviews were accurate. I'm giving 5-stars since the they property is well maintained and easy to ask questions. The only two small draw backs I found was after we booked and was sent the physical address we received an "address for the general area" and a link to the google maps. Trying to use Google Map in-country was not clear with the link. The property manager is very helpful and prompt & eventually I sorted out using the detailed info in the agoda writeup--2 min walk from metro station and (above) GS25 & Domino's Pizza--they are the same building. Google Maps & the local mapping app (Naver Map) made it clearer. The other was the A/C had a smart outlet and would turn off mid-afternoon (Aug). Everything else was very smooth.
