too many trainees used in the hotel and too many loud tourists who don't know how to use the onsen properly. There were men swimming in the men's onsen and those who don't take a bath before dipping into the onsen. our room was a Japanese style room which was too old and dilapidated. don't think I would visit the same hotel again.
Nice but a bit overpriced”
They have a beautiful garden, the food is splendid, but our room just was a bit dissapointing. Old furniture, a bit dusty, our room with a private onsen was just a bath tub we had to fill with normal water. So we thought it was overpriced for what we eventually got.
Everything was not bad, but considering high cost, it's little bit disappointed. Nevertheless, the breakfast and garden was so nice.
Superb, luxurious experience ”
Staying here was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. Everything was phenomenal—the staff’s kind consideration and concern, the delicious food artfully presented, the serene ambience throughout the entire ryokan, and of course the relaxing, peaceful onsen. We felt well taken care of and will definitely return. The only negative thing we have to say is that we wish we stayed here longer!
Great location and service, with beautiful garden and onsen”
Really enjoyed the single-night stay at Yoshiike. Okay, so this place surely isn't the *bling-bling*, new and modern, luxurious hotel. But my experiences here were one of the best within my entire Japan trip. Great service, of course. But most importantly, the location... You "must" seek for a hotel near Hakone-Yumoto for optimal transportation experiences and other factors such as restaurants, souvenirs... And the sceneries both inside and outside the hotel! Beautiful and very well maintained all-around. The staff are not the greatest English speakers, but does enough to support your visit. The only downside I can think of was the fact that the air-conditioning wasn't so great. But with the garden-view with the natural breeze through the windows were just enough for us any way. Totally visiting again, if I can.
What a lovely ryokan!”
The room is nice and clean. Staffs are very friendly and timely. The Japanese garden is very lovely. We enjoyed our morning walk there. The indoor and outdoor onsen is very nice as well. Dinner and breakfast were very authentically Japanese and very delicious! We are all very happy with our stay. :)
NO VALUE FOR MONEY”
We stayed one night, the garden is beautiful and so is the outside onsen. However, the rooms are old. Checkout is at 10 o'clock and the onsen is closed between 10-14 and are. completely non flexable. So in total the stay in this hotel is no value for money
Nice view and great facilities”
Our room had a nice view of the garden and the facilities were great too.
You get more Value than what you paying for.”
Food was great, staff was great, onsen was great, the garden was great, and an alcohol store walking distance less than 10second.
What an experience”
Overall good ryokan with public onsen so you don't have to go out. Location is very convenient as it is close to station and restaurants. Staff were polite and accomodating. Their garden inside the ryokan is so beautiful.
It was fantastic, the environment was beautiful, ”
We booked one room with private hot spring although it is super expensive, but the room is very spacious, unfortunately it only can accept two people, with a group of five which cannot fit in the room together, and we would like to book another room with private hot spring but there is not available, you guys only have one room with hot spring.
It was pricey, but the experience was also good”
This is the first time we try onsen and Ryokan so we have nothing to compare. The food is the highlight of the trip, 10-12 course Keisiki style dinner followed by well presented breakfast. The dinner for 2 ppl may worth >100. The breakfast contain nothing expensive ingredient but it was well presented. The hotel is a traditional Ryokan remodeled so can't compare with 5 stars modern hotel. We do smell something in the hallway to our room (humid smell maybe) but nothing really bad. The gardens is excellent and another highlight of the stay.
One of the most beautful places with stunning gardens and lovely rooms. Very traditional with tatami mat beds and rice pillows. The onsen was very hot but relaxing. The dinner and breakfast was traditional japanese and fantastic. Its expensive to stay but worth every cent.
Beautiful hot spring and gardens”
fantastic stay. would thoroughly recommend
Amazing hotel to rejuvenate ”
Well kept, with beautiful garden. Loved the hotspring experience
The Best Ryokan”
Value for money.
I selected the Yoshiike just for the outdoor onsen and I was disappointed with it. The outdoor onsen was NOT connected to the male changing room. You have to walk out to the common area for both men and women in order to access the outdoor onsen. You have to bath yourself before entering any onsen, so imagine the inconvenience when have to go outdoors. You have to dress up and walk out. Then after dipping outdoors, there's no facilities for your to shower again, you will just have to dress up and walk back in through the common area again. It's not like you can just wrap a towel around the waist and walk back in. Japanese traditional room toilet smells a bit. Only good point is the spacious room and the big beautiful garden in the middle of the Ryokan. One of the lodging in the area which is closest to the train station.
We booked the tatami style room and this type of room will required the male staff to assist us to take out/ keep the bed in and out from the cupboard. As we have ordered the breakfast to be ready by 7.30am, the housekeeping female staff has already informed us that she will get a male staff to assist us to keep the bed back into the cupboard. At about 7am, we heard someone knocking the door and greet us in Japanese, my husband wake up immediately and wanted to open the door. From the room to the door, it takes about a few seconds to reach and while my husband is about to walk towards the door, the male hotel staff has already opened the door and walking in. Both of us got a big shock as we are very sure we have locked the door. How can the male staff opened the door like this without our permission! Beside this, we are quite satisfied with the rest in terms of facilities, hot spring and cleanliness.
