"The ryokan was a bit dated and not in a traditional ryokan kind of way. There were lots of bugs and the fluorescent lights left much to be desired. The food was okay but not great by any means. The best part about this place is the staff, they were very nice and drove us 20 minutes down the mountain to the train station because the ropeway way was down. Yoshino is very pretty but I would recommend you stay in a slightly nicer ryokan and go during Sakura or leave turning seasons. Not much to do in the middle of summer besides hike up the mountain."
