excellent service, fantastic breakfast, excellent
Staff were absolutely wonderful and attentive to your every need. We were driven to the Snow Monkey park without requesting it. I highly recommend this ryokan, room was clean and really nicely done and the hot spring bath is also built in a very relaxing setting. It also has a smaller private bath for couples.

Traditional Family run Ryokan with onsen
It's a little hard to find if you're driving but quite close to the train station. Looks a little rundown outside but inside is fine. Family run with elderly members, only a younger son spoke a bit of English. Despite the language barrior they were genuinely helpful and always around to point us in the right direction. There is a shorter route to the monkey park from here if you're driving. The room had a living area with a table and floor chairs and a separate tatami room. The futons were thicker than most other Ryokans we stayed at. We were pleasantly surprised to have our own toilet, sink and fridge. The outdoor hot spring is beautiful but scalding hot! It can only be used at certain times for women and other times for men so be sure to verify the times to not miss out. I was alone in it. They make a very delicious apple jam. We were a family of 3 (adult daughter) and we were comfortable and would stay here again.

Cosy ryokan feels like home
Service is excellent, we are fetched by the hotel staff the moment we arrive Yudanaka. Its a family owned hotel, and the moment we step in, could feel the warmth and friendly atmosphere. the room is very clean and comfortable, the private onsen is cosy too, especially with the cool weather out there. the only concern is some interior looks outdated, other than that, everything is perfect here

A wonderful experience
What a great night we had here. The owner drove us to the monkey park as we were early to check in. We opted for half board and had an incredible dinner and breakfast sampling some lovely Japanese food. The onsen on site was great to experience too. We were able to use the private bath as we were with our 2 young children. We all really enjoyed it. Our room was also a great size and very comfortable. The family were such great hosts and looked after us really well. If we had more money we would have stayed longer!

Back to the past!
This is a family run hotel, very proximity to the Onsen Street and very Good in the town (classic and historical) make u feel back to the pass, clean and big room, very good service and very helpfull specially the old owner (staff can not speak english). And they serve a very high quality of onsen. The hotel is located near the yudanaka train station, so dont miss it. Its really good for the Ski trip and Onsen trip! You can easy to feel japanese traditional in this place! Totally great experience!

Clean, comfortable, will be back again!
This ryokan is conveniently located very close to the train station. The rooms are spacious and clean. The owners are wonderful and even gave us a ride to the monkey park. The onsens were great after a long day of walking. I look forward to returning here in the future

Amazing onsen experience
We absolutely loved this ryokan style hotel. We were able to use the private onsen several times during our two night stay. The town is an easy walk from the hotel and the owners gave us a complimentary ride to the entrance of the snow monkey park. If you are looking for an affordable and authentic stay at a Japanese onsen, then look no further!

Beautiful quaint traditional inn
This ryokan was a gem and such an authentic experience, tucked away in a little onsen town. Being used to beds, it did take a little adjusting to sleeping on futons on the floor, but this just added to the experience. I used the indoor wood onsen which is lockable and private. What a glorious way to soak away the aches from the cold!! I loved every minute of the onsen and it left me feeling soothed and warm to the core for hours afterwards. The elderly owners don't speak any English but are just beautiful and very accommodating, loaning us snow boots and giving us a lift to the Snow Monkey park. Loved staying at this ryokan.

Good
Very traditional Japanese Ryokan. Shared toilets and there is a private onsen that can be locked if no one is using. Although building is very old, it is definitely the best experience staying in a traditional ryokan. No toiletries though and the private onsen's shower foam is not topped up for both nights I had stayed. BYO. In short, very traditional. Love the building architectures.
