“I used it with my family.”

Location: The accommodation is a bit far from Yufuin Station, but since other accommodations are also quite distant from the station, this was not a major disappointment! I had to check out early due to my flight schedule, but the accommodation called a taxi for us, making it convenient and quick to get to the station. Facilities: A great advantage of Wazanhō is that each accommodation has a private onsen without any additional charge! It was small but nice to spend time with family. When I visited, there weren't many guests, so my mom and I used the public bath together, which was a nice change! There’s also a room with massage chairs next to the large bath, and all three of us in the family were able to use it comfortably. Accommodation Condition: I really liked that it felt like a cozy ryokan! The room was neatly organized, and both the toilet and sink were clean and well-maintained, allowing for a pleasant experience. We didn't have meals, but if we have more time next time, we would like to stay again with a meal-inclusive option!

“The best ryokan that moved the whole family!! I love Wazanhō 🫶🏻”

A truly perfect ryokan! I already want to go again🥹 First of all, there were about two Korean staff members, so communication was really convenient. They provided yukata for female guests, allowing us to take beautiful photos in pretty clothes at the lovely accommodation! There was no shuttle service, so we had to take a taxi, but as soon as we came out of Yufuin Station, there was a line for taxis, so we bought some nighttime snacks at a convenience store and waited in line for the taxi! It was a bit long, perhaps because it was raining, but I’m not sure if it’s normally like that! The line moved quickly, and we enjoyed taking pictures in front of the station while waiting!! When checking out, if you request a taxi, they will call one for you🥹 The accommodation was generally spacious and clean!! I was worried it might be cold since it’s winter and located in the mountains, but it was actually not cold at all, and the heater worked perfectly so I slept warmly hehe. They gave us a pouch as a gift at Wazanho, which contained flip-flop socks, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, lotion, etc., which was nice! The pouch was super cute too🥰 There were plenty of towels available, so our family, who uses a lot of towels, found it very convenient!! The private onsen was really warm and just wonderful! After eating, it was pure happiness to soak in the onsen at night!! The night sky was filled with stars, it was a true healing experience! I’ve never seen so many stars! The stones can be a bit rough, so you might get scratched, but it’s fine as long as you don’t move too much! I also recommend placing a few towels down since there are plenty!! Since there’s a private onsen, everyone seemed to skip the large bath, so we had the large bath all to ourselves just like a private one!! The large bath was spacious and less warm than the private ones, which was nice!! The large bath has its own charm, so definitely check it out! I went once at night and once in the morning; at night it was atmospheric, and in the morning, you could see the rising sun which was lovely!!🥰 Make sure to soak in the onsen in the morning!! Because it’s winter, there was frost in the early morning, and enjoying the scenery while soaking in the onsen was great hehe. Also, near the entrance of the large bath, there’s free ramune (natural soda), so be sure to try it!! It’s really... delicious. It tastes a bit like mulberry and keeps you coming back for more.. hehe. We signed up for both kaiseki and breakfast, and it was really deliciousㅠ I was worried after reading blogs that opinions were divided, but why was I even worried... it was so delicious, and there was no bad food! After eating, we roasted marshmallows at the hibachi and it was just perfect🌟 We all ate until we were bursting!!😋 My dad was completely moved... he said it was better than omakase in Seoul... haha😁 I’m salivating as I write this haha. The breakfast was likewise very delicious and well-presented🤤 Actually, about three weeks before going, I hurriedly looked for a place and most other ryokans were fully booked, but there was exactly one room left at Wazanho, so I made a last-minute reservation without knowing much about it, and it turned out to be a real stroke of luckㅠ🥹 Our family stayed for one night, but it was so good that we regretted not staying for two nights😂 It’s such a wonderful ryokan that I truly want to go back again!! I highly recommend it👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

“Love the Private Hot Spring ”

Yufuin Ryokan Wazanho is a lovely and clean ryokan with delicious meals and wonderful private hot springs. The staff, especially Ah Lok (Cantonese Speaking) was very warm and attentive. Highly recommended!

      “I'm very satisfied!”

The room was spacious, clean, and nice~ It was comfortable because it had a private bath, and I could use it freely, hehe. It was a bit scary to use it outdoors at night, but there were many stars, and the atmosphere was great, hehe. The staff could speak Korean, and everyone was very kind, hehe. They provided amenities in a pretty pouch and lent me a yukata, so I took a lot of pictures, hehe. Due to the location, I couldn't go out in the evening, so I bought the breakfast and dinner plan. After eating spicy food throughout my trip, having something mild was comforting, and the portion was generous, so I was very satisfied with both breakfast and dinner~ Especially the sukiyaki was delicious, boohoo. I will use it again next time!

      “Enjoyed our two night stay”

We have stayed in other Ryokans in Tokyo and have always enjoyed the experience. This ryokan in Yufuin was a bit outside the town center and required a cab ride each way or a 40 min walk. The staff would call you a cab which arrives very quickly. The cab ride cost 1000 yen to get from the town but 1300 yen to get to the town not sure why the difference in the price. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner served was very tasty. Upon checking in you can pick your own Kimono cloth pattern and wrap, you can wear this at the meal time and the men had just the one traditional two piece pants set. We had a room that came with its own private outdoor onsen however the level of privacy is questionable as we could have seen the road through the wooden planks making up the fence. The town itself is best visited before the tour buses arrive staying overnight would allow you that advantage.
