Beautiful location
The surrounding landscape of this place is peaceful and beautiful. Also loved the onsen part. A bit of a distance from Kyoto city (so be prepared for that travel), but this is also the draw (quiet and relaxing environment). You can spend the daytime exploring Kyoto and surrounding areas (going via either (1) bus & hotel shuttle, (2) subway and taxi, or (3) taxi all the way if you don't mind spending bit extra money), and then spend your evenings relaxing at this wonderful place. If your booking includes breakfast and/or dinner, you are in for a treat. We very much enjoyed trying new and delicious foods there. Lastly, the staff there are some of the kindest, most helpful people you will encounter at a place of lodging. Would recommend to family/friends and would definitely go again.

Friendly staff
Nice stay except for its location. It's about an hour from city, a major consideration if you intend to brows the city.

Nice onsen ryokan
Initially we did not know we could have bus pickup from the ryokan and walked the whole 10min with our luggage in. It was a refreshing walk taking the whole countryside view. The ryokan itself is quaint and meticulous. The breakfast and dinner provided were delicious and the staffs here are very helpful with our needs.

Quick getaway from busy Kyoto
On the journey to this onsen, you will get to see amazing Japanese countryside! Upon arriving you'll be greeted by staff who speak very good english, so no worries about language barriers of communication difficulties. Do explore the surrounding areas and take in sights of the tress and mountains. It is most beautiful! The onsen itself has a very pretty garden. Best thing about the meals were their rice and tofu! Best tofu I had in Japan!

Far from bus station
There are prepare steamboat for the dinner
When I book with Agoda, there is stated 4 Japanese futon and can stay for max 3 person in a room. But when I reach the hotel they said only can stay for 2 person and additional person have to pay extra charges around 9800 yen. Some more from the bus station to the hotel distance is around 1.3 km so we need to carry our luggage walk to the hotel by 15 minutes.

Very Japanese Experience
The food, the location, and the traditional feel
Everything was fine except the bedding, which compared to other ryokan experiences I have had over 50 years of visiting Japan was strangely inferior. Even with 7 futons piled on top of each other, I felt like I was sleeping on the bare floor. This is not for people who might have sore joints.
