Zapote Tree Inn

We absolutely LOVED everything about our time here and ended up extending our stay, but wish it could have been for longer! Don’t be put off by the fact that this isn’t located on Flores island, it’s an absolute gem and you will love it. Zapote Tree is in the little village of San Miguel so just a short 5 minute boat ride away from Flores island which we loved because it’s really peaceful, you get absolutely amazing views, and it’s actually really fun hopping in one of the local boats (extremely easy there are loads of boats and just 5QTZ) to go over the the island for dinner! The other bonus is you can walk from the hotel to Playa Chechenal which is a lovely swimming beach and perfect for a chilled afternoon. Peter (the owner) is LOVELY and really helped us decide how to make the most out of our time there, including helping organise our trip to Tikal which was amazing and he even sorted out packed lunches for us which was so great! The rooms are really well designed, good fans, comfy beds and even feature some beautiful paintings by Peter and his wife! There’s an amazing roof terrace for watching the sunset with a beer. The food was absolutely amazing and good value. Overall such an amazing experience and we will definitely be coming back!

where do i begin.. from the noise of Flores with a constant stream of cars motorbikes going tround and round and round, we found this GEM!! clean, quiet, beautiful tropical surroundings, humming birds flying round you.. only eclipsed by our truly wonderful host Eric and his family! they went above and beyond to make our stay , we wanted for nothing.. free boat to and from flores boulevard.. wish we had found this earlier !!! we will definitely be back!! honestly, i recommend this place 100% and, its half the price of the mainnflores hotels! go there!!!!

Streets in the area could be better (but that is true for all of Guatemala except the capital) - however, there is an easy ferry from Flores to the hotel too (for ca. 2 USD incl. driver)

Simple and clean with an amazing garden and view. Breakfast by the pool was lovely! also the staff was incredibly helpful and reliable and gave us lots of information on the area and helped us organise transfers by boat and taxi. Such a nice place to spend a few days!

Our stay at the Zapote Tree Inn was sensational! We never had such good hosts before. The rooms are nice, big and air-conditioned. The accommodation offers various beautiful chill zones which are very nature-related. The breakfast and other meals were excellent with a variety of fruits and greens from their own garden. The hosts helped us in every way. The boat shuttle to Flores Island works almost all around the clock and you can be anywhere in 5 minutes. We recommend this accommodation 100%

We got more than we expected from our stay at Zapote Tree. The room is cozy and the views are amazing. Big bed, good shower and decent wifi. Our host, Peter, was very kind and attentive. Made sure we got everything we asked for. The boat ride back and forth was easy.
