Lovely rooms set admist beautiful gardens. The staff were always very polite and helpful. We had a couple of housekeeping issues with the room not being made up one day and also coffee & beer not always being replenished. But on the whole a wondeful, relaxing hotel and we will definitely stay again.
Zazen has a calming relaxing vibe as soon as you enter the property. everything has been made to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Attention to detail is perfect, even as far as heart shaped butter. Would definitely recommend
hands down the BEST part of our honeymoon- delicious breakfast, welcoming staff, and beach <3 ”
the views, the staff, the room, the SHOWER, the beach, the food, the surprise party - everything made our honeymoon unforgettable - we LOVED it all. i was so happy we spent time to relax and enjoy the amenities like free bike & kayak rental, sample massage, and cultural performance i also loved seeing that they had hospitality students training which shows how important education is to them. we moved to the beachfront suite to treat ourselves for our last night and we found out that the owner was hosting an all-white party in partnership with tito's vodka and they welcomed us to join. the food, fire dance, drinks, and smiles.. we had SO MUCH fun and all we had to do was walk no more than 20 steps to our room to pass out on our comfy bed. i wish i asked for more hand lotion because the scent was so perfect. AND i cant even describe how A M A Z I N G their breakfast was. it was buffet + you could order more from their menu! i got a mango lemongrass smoothie + champagne every morning <3
Incredibly romantic boutique resort”
Stayed here for 1 night for birthday treat. Upgraded to Beachfront room which was superb! Had a delicious dinner and was given a bouquet of orchids and a beautiful cake wow. Staff were great and must mention Kwang at reception, fabulous...nothing too much trouble and upgrade was such a special surprise. The tropical garden with paths lit up at night by candles and lanterns were stunning and although the beach and sea are not good for swimming as alot of small fisherman's boats are moored there, it's very peaceful and relaxing just watching it all on a sunlounger. Zazen is at the end of Bohput beach and about 15 minutes walk to Fishermans Village...well worth going there as the dining is all on the beachfront and very unique, with the restaurants above the beach and steps going down. Check out Coco Tams Bar with sand under your and rope swing chairs. Fire dances and an amazing ambiance suits every age group and the restaurant beside it is new and beautifully impressive with large cane swinging chairs and navy and white nautical theme...stunning! Back to Zazen, very old Thai styled resort that is intimate, relaxing and very romantic. We'll return again, pure bliss 🎏
This boutique really knows how to make you feel relaxed. From the moment you check in, you get a feeling this place is special. The rooms are beautiful, big, and clean, the pool was was the cleanest on Samui, but it was the service which just out of this world... every staff member was polite, smiling and calming with their attitude.. well done... will be back
we had beachfront room, directly at beach, cannot be more convenient, Beach was nice, sandy, water not crystal clear but good for samui standard at least during the season we were in. There are sometimes other people using the daybeds in front of room as there are limited area to the beach but its nowhere near crowded The hotel has very lovely ground and nice greens. Only one thing I don't like but it's personal choice is open bathroom, I am wary of house lizards, mozzies etc and a bit squirmish to use open bathroom during the night. The bedroom in the beachfront is not suitable if you have crawling toddler as the bed is raised quite high from ground.
We enjoyed every moment”
We passed five phantastic days in Zazen. The service was superb. If there would not be so many moskitos in the bath room and the resort would be a bit closer to Fishermans village it would be a 10/10, because everything else could hardly be better.
Bad weather but lovely hotel”
Arrived for the floods so we were trapped in the hotel most days by water. Its a romantic spot which is great for chilling out, overall we loved the hotel. Please take care of the beach dogs, some people were beating them. We would go again but only if the sun comes out.
Wonderful beachside location”
Mosquito heaven. Unfortunately we had a garden villa and the outside bathroom might be a unique selling point it is totally pointless. The mosquito nets around the top had lots of gaps and so here seemed to be a never ending supply of them wanting to spend time in our room with us. With no air conditioning the bathroom was a big black cross against our stay as we also had no hot water for the last 24 hours - not good. The bed and seating area is all very very low - not sure what the point of that is, but not comfortable, just a gimmick. The food however was excellent and we will be returning to enjoy the restaurant again. The beach was also lovely and great for kids - shallow and protected with large comfortable sun loungers on the beach and round the pool. For the cost of the room though, there are better options and value for money on Samui to choose from and we will be heading to those on our next trip to Koh Samui.
I will warmly recommended The Zazen for Honey Moon, and for couple. The garden and Rooms are decorated with Taste. Everywhere you look, you discover Statue or nice pictures. The garden is AMAZING ! And The Restaurant : OUHAOU ! YOU MUST GO ! The art in this Hotel is going until you Platte . GO GO GO .
Amazing place, even more amazing staff”
First place we've gone to where the photos of the place didn't do it justice. It's so much nicer in real life. From the moment we arrived, everything was just amazing. Every member of staff we met were incredibly helpful and friendly. The attention to detail is remarkable, and the place sometimes feels more like a fairytale land than a resort. Access to the beach is quick and nice, and the pool was an excellent place to lounge and get cocktails. The restaurant is also highly recommended.
Most pictures online of Zazen is not so flattering. However if you come across a promotional video and thought “wow” then that’s basically it really. Zazen is like a balinese paradise resort with ultra friendly and accommodating staff. The walk to your room at night is probably one of the most relaxing experience with the sound of water and beautiful lanterns everywhere. Breakfast is one of the highlights for me. The menu is not extensive but just right in my view. Its not fully a buffet and some food you need to order and they will prepare it for you fresh. But my favorite is the fresh juice bar. They prepared combination juices in small glass bottles. I could literally stay the whole morning chugging down fresh juices. The resort is situated towards the end of Bophut beach and road. You will need to walk a fair bit to reach Fisherman’s village (probably 15-20 minutes). Fridays there is a night market and the place is buzzing. Be wary of taxis. Most will charge fix price!
Very nice tropical resort”
I really love their shower gel ,shampoo and hand soap it’s very smell good . Big room in the nice place but there ‘s no bider shower
This was my 4th visit and I have to say service is still outstanding! I brought my mum with me as a treat and she felt pampered at all times and couldn’t get over how friendly everyone was. The addition of the gym and yoga room has improved it even more. Spa was amazing- wish I had more time to use it! Great deal as quiet 25%off between 11am - 3pm totally worth it. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of options - cooked as well as continental and salad buffet. Great stay see you all next time😀
We really enjoyed our 4 nights at Zazen. It is a small intimate hotel with a first class restaurant. We ended up eating there 3 out of the 4 nights as nothing in town compared. The beach was small but nice and suited our needs perfectly. We had massages at the spa and they were wonderful. I hope to return one day.
An amazing place to relax and unwind”
We couldn't say enough about the service in this resort, the staff are amazing and are so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also amazing, everything we tried was beautiful and breakfast was also fantastic. Not the cheapest place to eat and you'll quickly learn with resorts and hotels and proper restaurants, they add a 10% service fee which I don't think is always appropriate. Nevertheless, we had an amazing stay. The resort itself is beautiful and luscious and you really feel like you're in a tropical heaven! Unfortunately we didn't have great weather so weren't able to swim in the beach but it was an amazing 4 nights spent at Zazen!
The best thing about zazen was the restaurant. The food was superb, we stayed for three nights and ate in the restaurant every night. It deserves a Michelin star. The staff were above and beyond helpful when we were trying to book an onward flight and our card was stopped, phoning our bank in England for us. This is the first time I have written a review as I normally can’t be bothered, but zazen really deserved it. Go there,
Fantastic and super romantic”
Came here as we are considering getting married in Koh Samui. This is an outstanding boutique resort. What stood out most of all is the attention and true dedication of the staff. They were all so caring, happy to help and with a genuine smile on their face. We spoke quite extensively both via mail correspondence (due to the wedding planning) and when we arrived to Tiffany. She stood out and I can honestly say we would feel totally safe in her hands for our big day. There were some families but it has a romantic vibe so would be best suited for couples. There is a spa (at extra cost) as well as some classes you may take (at an extra cost). . We felt that the classes (we took an amazing yoga class with a true professional) should perhaps be included in the price of stay. The food was delicious. We got to experience dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast and it was by far the best we had on the trip, this including both Thai dishes and Western. The whole resort is lit up with candles at night and it truly is breath taking. Every inch of the resort is thought out in terms of decor. There are also extra touches like a cigar room and a wine cellar. In terms of the room, it is spacious and has all the amenities you would want/ expect. The beach is small and this seems suiting as again it is a small resort. There is beach equipment for the disposal of the guests. Amazing place.
If the only negative thing that I can think of during our stay is the choice and volume of the music played in the restaurant and near the pool, then Zazen must be quite satisfied. I know we were! A first time visit, hopefully not the last.
Charming resort with the best food in Samui ”
My letter to the management. I am writing to you to express my appreciation of our stay at Zazen's. My wife and children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have frequently your restaurant over the past 7 years and this was our first stay (6 nights). The restaurant is legendary and the only place in Koh Samui where I feel safe to eat anything from the menu including salads. Being able to see into the kitchen and observe the cleanliness assures me that its a quality operation. The food from breakfast to dinner is always excellent and reason enough to stay with you. The setting is unique and really comes alive at night through your excellent lighting and beautiful views. As you know, my wife had secretly organised a 10 year wedding anniversary renewal ceremony. Your staff coordinated this with Sarah and went over and above what was expected. The service and setting were amazing, the 3 monks and blessing memorable, flowers and especially the photos we will cherish. Even when it rained and meant we couldn't have our dinner on the beach your agile team sprung into action and set up a private dinning room that would put most function centers to shame in about 20 minutes. The dinner was stunning and my family had a wonderful experience. The other thing Zazen do well is the little things: Bringing palate cleansers during courses Delivering sunscreen and sunglasses cleaning cloth/spray to you by the pool Fruit sticks for the kids Iced tea on a hot afternoon by the pool Amazing ice creams for the kids Ryad and his team go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. The Resort is not overly big or busy and provides a real chilled out experience. We'll be back.
