Absolute recommendation for Bagan”
Staff/ Service: Good english, very helpful and professional, amazingly quick room service in terms of laundry, ironing, etc. Location: There are three possibilities to stay in Bagan: Nyaung-U , Old Bagan and New Bagan. Zfreeti Hotel is in Nyaung-U, which is close to the seeport, the airport, balloon starting point - we were very happy with it. There are restaurants around, but we actually very much liked the Hotel Restaurant (expensive compared to street but cheap compared to Europe, very tasty and absolutely convenient after a long day full of pagodas). We would not recommend to stay at a hotel in New Bagan, since they are mostly not located in the village itself but further outside! Breakfast: very good (but do it quick - the light in the morning is the best for spending time at temples. Tips for Bagan: The best time to drive around the temples is between 6-10am and 3-5:30pm - amazing light! Lunch break at the pool or exploring the big pagodas from inside. We recommend to take the ebikes/roller close to the Hotel for 9000Kyat/day for 2 pers. For beautiful sunrise Bulethi temple (however rather steep) or at the Shwe Nan Yin Taw Complex (which is very beatiful). Both are quickly reachable from Zfreeti. We booked the balloons month in advance, which was good.

Best Value & Location for Your Bucks!”
This is my second time reviewing a venue on Agoda. We stayed here three days in January 2016, during our recent 5-day trip to Bagan after we were disappointed with our first two days at the Royal Bagan. Best Value: Our daily rate was half that of the overpriced Royal Bagan and yet we felt the breakfast was much better (more variety, egg station, bacon, soups, etc), the staff were friendlier, the pool larger and more welcoming, and in general the entire hotel was definitely worth the price we paid. The room was much smaller than the Royal Bagan, maybe 2/3 of the size, but since we were out exploring the temples all day, we spent very little time in our room and we just wanted a quiet, clean place to stay. Room service was swift and friendly, plus they even brought us a bucket of ice, which was nice when I made my own cocktails at home (a small personal bottle of Burmese Whiskey is 1000 kyat or less than $1 USD at the market) Location: Only a 2-minute walk down to Restaurant Row, we liked this location even better than Royal Bagan, which was about a 10-minute walk away. Not much of a difference, especially if you rent a motorbike, but we liked the closer location to all the best food options in Nyaung U. By the way, we do recommend Weather Spoons, especially the salads, rice and noodles dishes there. We also took a trip with Balloons over Bagan, and the booking office is just across the road from our hotel, which made it even easier for me to sneak out in the morning and book a surprise trip for me and my girlfriend/fiancee (I proposed to her during our hot air balloon ride). Negatives: The room was a bit smaller but we didn't mind because at least the rate was reasonable. The free e-bikes mentioned in the hotel listing would only work for solo travelers so we rented a bike from across the street. Also, I did notice a smell that awaited us when we returned. I had read some reviews about the smell but when we first entered the room, I didn't notice any

Very pleasant hotel, excellent staff, useful location.”
We were very pleased to have chosen Zfreeti. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The breakfasts were extremely good, especially on the days when they had coconut noodle soup, which was fabulous! The eggs to order were always perfectly cooked and promptly served. The coffee was not brilliant, and that was the only negative. The location in Nyaung U is very useful. The main restaurant strip is on the next block, and has plenty of great choice. We especially liked Leo's. Nyaung U is definitely the place to be in Bagan. Easy access to the temple sites, plus a great market, which is just under a mile from the hotel. An electric scooter is the way to get around, and we hired every day from the guy directly across from the hotel reception desk, and he was very good. And all the staff at Zfreeti were great.

A little bit of Chillout in Bagan (video)”
Great choice. First thing - swimming pool! With over 40 celsius degrees in Bagan it was a real salvation during exploration of the area (we were taking a break at noon to avoid the hottest sun) as well as during hot evenings. What more to say - there is a bar so what can be better after a long, very hot day than sitting at the pool with a pint of a cold beer? Second - E-Bikes, as you might be aware foreigners are not allowed to rent motorbikes in Bagan area. Cycling is not the best option with these temperatures and renting taxis/horse-cars for me personally is the worst option there as you will not get off the main roads. Zfreeti Hotel came up with the best option possible so far - Electronic Bikes. You can rent them for not much more then normal bikes. You can easily ride it as a couple. However be careful as the power will not last for a whole day. But hey... you have a pool and you can come back after few hours to recharge your E-Bike. Great solution! 3rd thing that I would like to recommend this hotel for is breakfast - big, tasty, served early morning so you can get a lot of energy for a long day and set off around 6am for exploring the area. OK... few words regarding hotel itself - very clean, very good WiFi (as per Myanmar standards), fridge, AC, free water, hairdryer (hmmm who needs it with these temperatures?), generally well equipped bathroom. Staff - very friendly and helpful! We had really big problems with getting out of Bagan due to water festival. Ladies at the reception checked for us all the possibilities and finally found some seats in a bus to Mandalay! Location - hotel is based out of the centre of Nyuang-U however there is plenty of small restaurants very close by. Summary - it's worth every penny as I don't think you will find any other hotel in Bagan area with swimming pool! It will give you a relief from the heat. 2 minutes walk from bus station. Highly recommended! I would definitely stay there back again! .

I miss this place already”
People say that here are not many great hotels in Myanmar, but what I experienced in Zfreeti was quite different. staff were so nice and kind and they offered breakfast even though we didn't pay for it! (I think it was because we booked the room very early so there was a deal without breakfast but now they serve breakfast for every guest) Swimming pool was the heaven after spending grueling hours in the heat. Especially for room service menu, I wanna recommend to anyone who wants good food with reasonable price. We found that restaurants nearby were more expensive. Plus, I really want to recommend you to rent a e-bike from the hotel. It is cheaper and safer. We rented more expensive and heavier ones from retal place and it was horrible. . because the other one has smaller wheels so it was easily lose the control on the sand.I fell down 3times with the bike, so I rented the hotel bike and it was 10times better. Thanks for giving me the greatest memories in Bagan. But there are some minor inconveniences that the hotel can improve easily. 1. need a cabinet or a drawer that I can put my clothes 2. bathroom door didnt close easily 3. The power went off very often at night but I think power shortage is not the hotel's problem Thanks Zfreeti I would definitely stay there again when I visit Bagan.

Central, attentive, value for your money”
Wanted to treat myself for my birthday so I picked Zfreeti. Paid about $68 a night 2/17-2/20. Pros: nyaung u is a cute area, 7min by ebike (scooter) to ananda pagoda. Two block away is restaurant lane with about 20 restaurants. All very similar but thats all in Burma. Pool must need for hot bagan days, special treat for us. Food at the hotel was not too expensive, example $4 for fried rice. Happy hour 2 for 1 drinks at $3. Staff super attentive and willing to get things done as fast and right as possible. Room is spacious and have a refrigerator, a plus. Buffet breakfast good choices with similar options for the three days we were there. Average taste. But had several types of juices, milk, tea and coffee. Negative: the bathroom shower, like other reviews. Once you showered expect your entire bathroom to be wet, last day flood about 2 inch of water slow drain. If they just used another 16 inches of glass as a divider from shower to bathroom it would be fine.

Perfect location for all that's needed in Bagan”
We had a wonderful stay while in Bagan at Zfreeti. The hotel is centrally located in Nyaung U, so you are a block away from the main commercial area but the hotel's location is very serene and quiet. The staff is constantly cleaning within the hallways, so the dustiness of trekking around Bagan does not permeate the hotel. We also found the hotel staff to be helpful in every manner, from assisting with our travel arrangements, to renting e-bikes, to providing advice on our questions. The food is quite tasty also!

Out of my Expectation”
We had arrived early in the morning after an 8-hour journey from Yangon. We are shagged and sticky as we had be traveling out without any shower or proper rest the day before. When we arrive at the counter,we were greeted with a spacious lobby that befits a 5-star resort. And we were surprised that they allowed us to check in earlier, at 7am, so that we can refresh ourselves and rest before we started exploring Bagan. The hotel may not look exactly like a 5-star resort as per the photographs, but I guaranteed that the hospitality services Zfreeti Hotel is on par to that. And they have E-bikes facilities that were properly maintained and they could assist to get you a local driver at a very reasonable cost, comparatively to those you need to haggle at the bus terminal. So do not jump into the driver too fast for a day tour as the hotel may assist to arrange at a better price and comfort. Overall, we were very impressed at the hotel services. Zfreeti Hotel do render a 5-star service at a 3-star facilities.

A great hotel resort holiday vacation”
We stay 6 days 5 nights at Zfreeti Hotel, we took 3 rooms and we travel together with 3 years old children. The room is clean and tidy, spacious and relax. They allow us to have early check in when we reach from Yangon 430am . The staff was helpful and understanding. Early check in help us a lot to be refresh by power shower. The breakfast was the best thing in every morning, fresh juice, variety of healthy food. The location of the hotel is perfect, next to Restaurant row and on both main road to Old Bagan. We are glad we make a decision to stay in Zfreeti hotel. Area of improvement are room key only give one, it is quite inconvenient for family and couple traveler. Wifi connection not available in room and slow in lobby and roof top breakfast.

Great stay in Bagan ”
We were initially hesitant to not stay in Old Bagan, but we made the right choice to stay in Nyaung U and at Zfreeti. The pagodas start right down the road and it’s a quick ride to the bigger temples in Old Bagan. The staff was super helpful- let us check in at 5am after the night bus and booked our balloon ride and bus to Kalaw for us for no charge. Pool was lovely after a hot morning of temple hunting. Would absolutely recommend.

Good!”
Zfreeti was better than expected although there's some things which my friends aren't that satisfied with. 1. The room was really clean and huge. Exact to pic shown. 2. Staffs actually went room to room and asked if we wanted to spray insecticide in our room. Let them do it if you don't wanna get bitten by mosquito. Surprisingly there's no insecticide smell! 3. Not sure if they are able to speak english well enough as i have a burmese friend communicating with them. 4. Staffs were really friendly. They would smile and greet you. 5. Breakfast was not bad. Toilet at breakfast area was really dirty though. 6. Becareful when ordering room service. My friend told me the food was good. But the price changes everyday (according to them it was cause of exchange rate) and sometimes they will charge you extra for god knows what. So don't trust the $ stated on menu in your room. 7. Towel is provided at swimming pool area so you don't have to bring your own towel from the room, which i really like! 8. Bathing water is a lil oily, IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRINKING. 9. Complimentary small water bottle will be given to you everyday. 10. 2 ebike shop just outside the hotel which is really convenient for travelling! 11. You can buy a map at the reception area if you're travelling solo. 12. Aircon will take about 5mins to on after switching it on. 13. Really difficult to connect to wifi even at lobby (im using iphone), but my friend using samsung phone could connect easily even in our room! 14. Hotel might blackout. (my friend told me it happened cause she was awake) Thankfully it happened while i was asleep so i didn't feel hot or anything. But overall, it was still a good experience. All my friends were happy with the accommodation too. Would definitely stay at zfreeti again if im going back bagan!

Very helpful staff”
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They gave great suggestions for my daily activities and reasonable cost in front for each activity. Especially, in my last day, after hotel check out, I had about 4 hours of time before my flight. They suggested me a horse cart tour and arranged a horse cart. I am not a fan of horse cart, but this short horse cart tour turned out it was the best part of my Bagan stay. The horse cart driver is a highly experienced old driver and speaks reasonably good English. He drove off the main roads to see many pagodas that are not in the tour map and he showed me where to take good pictures based on sun light condition. I took many great pictures and saw really old Bagan. He told me in last 6 years he has guided a few groups of professional and semi-professional photographers to take pictures. He has been booked by a photographer group from Beijing next month. I really appreciate Zfreeti hotel staff help!

Great value”
The wonderful Zfreeti is in a good location for budget minded tourists in Nyaung U - close to tourist facilities and good restaurants. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and staff are helpful. Loved the breakfasts on the rooftop. Ate at the rooftop restaurant in the evening one night with a couple of beers. Good food and reasonably priced. Across the road the couple renting e bikes were helpful with organising tours and providing an affordable laundry service.

EXCELLENT SERVICE & GOOD LOCATION ”
Though we only stayed in the hotel for 01 night, it was a great experience for us at Zfreeti. Staff are very nice and well-trained Rooms are comfy, just a bit of weird smell from the bathroom once Good location to restaurants nearby, especially Shin Shin Lay (they serve tasty food :D) Hotel even let us borrow umbrellas and their bike for FREE When we checked out, they had a room to support us for luggage and bathroom for us to take a shower. Breakfast is well-served with buffet style We had a great time in Bagan thanks to Zfreeti (and the Star Bagan - the e-bike rental shop opposite the hotel gate)

Wonderful hotel, extremely affordable”
We really enjoyed our stay at Zfreeti Hotel. Great location - close to the airport, temples and markets. The staff are extremely lovely and attentive, especially the food and bar staff. The hotel and rooms are very clean and beds were relatively comfortable. The pool was lovely and a great place to rest after a jam packed morning of temple hopping. If you want to explore Bagan by bicycle or e-bike (which I highly recommend) you can hire these at a very cheap rate out the front of the hotel. My only complaint is that our room was located directly underneath the roof restaurant and during breakfast we were woken up by the screech of chairs being dragged along the floor. I would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel in Nyaung-U”
- Comfortable rooms with good quality air con. Good selection at breakfast too which is on the outside terrace. - Staff are super helpful - helped organize our taxis and ebikes and also gave tips on how to see all the best temples. - Located in Nyaung-U so very close to airport (10-15min, K3000 to 5000) - Temples are spread out everywhere so although Nyaung U isn't as close to the major temples as Old and New Bagan, we are talking a difference of 10-15min by e-bike. It's not an issue. - Lots of restaurants within walking distance of hotel - Wetherspoons is a fave.

Really think ”
Stayed 2 nights. The hotel really think and do what is good to guests. I requested 8 AM check in,due to early arrival at Nyaung U airport from Yangon. At first,it was impossible because room was full, but once other customer checked out, the staff run to me with smile to inform check in became possible. In an evening, staff came room to collect trash. I have stayed hundreds of hotels, but it was first experience to me. Of course I welcomed that service. For check out , I wanted evening check out , due to 6 PM departure at Nyaung U airport. It was possible with only 2.5 USD per hour.I payed 10 USD and could stay room till 4 PM. Only minus point is wifi is unstable, but I think it is matter of whole Nyaung U town. I would like to stay this hotel again.

Everything I Want or Need.”
Zfreeti is so nice. I’d stay there again. Food and drink is all great. The swimming pool was popular in the intense heat. The big downer was trying to leave Nyaung-u. Be careful and leave plenty of time if you are making a flight connection. Buddha Air showed up 1.5 hours after scheduled departure, missing my connection to Bangkok. A local lady I chatted with said to leave 5 hours cushion if you want to succeed, or easiest yet, stay the night in Kathmandu. Tough, expensive lesson to learn having to buy the last ticket to Bangkok for the next week.
