The hotel is close to the train station - about 15 minutes walk. However, you need to walk up and down a couple of underground pedestrian walkways to get to the station, vice versa (no option of jay-walking as barricades are in place) . This could be a bit taxing if you have your luggage with you as there's no escalator access to these underground walkways. And be reminded that Xining is at an altitude of about 2,200 metres, so you might find yourself more short of breath when you go up and down the stairs!
Nonetheless, the hotel is located in a good location with lots of eating joints nearby and Dongguan Mosque is about 15 minutes walk away. And a bus stop < 5 minutes walk away will get you to other parts of the city, eg the food streets (Mojia Street, Shuijing Lane).
The room is clean and tidy. The staff gladly changed our room when it smelled of ciggie when we first entered the room. There's a coffee maker and coffee powder provided.
Overall, a decent stay.
Very good experience. The hotel is close to railway and environment is very nice, clean and cheap.
Near to train station ”
This hotel consider modern hotel if compare to those local hotel. At least front office can speak little bit of English. Room is clean and tidy. Can walk to train station within 10 -15 min if with less luggage. If take cab, it cost RMB 9. Is cheap too.
it’s an ok place. has good coffee.”
it’s ok though nothing special
considered near to Xi Ning Railway station, it is about 15 minutes walking distance to Railway station. there is a nearby mall (Wanda Mall) where you can find food easily, less than 10 minutes walk.
Well-located, pleasant transition one-nighter”
Overall, staff is young and helpful. Place is clean, comfy, and quiet. English is not spoken here, though! Because of a transportation snafu, I ended up staying 2-nights and into the afternoon to catch 1 0 pm plane. They changed me from a windowless room (not a problem as I arrived at 10 PM) the first night into a windowed room. They also charged me only 1/3 day rate of an extended stay until 6 pm. In truth, if I had not mentioned anything, probably would have just checked me out.
LOCATION: Great - a block from Railway Square to all points and the regional bus station. Lots of restaurants on street and nearby City Mall has great food.
Finding the darn plac: Xining is not Beijing or Shanghai and so a hotel named James Joyce without a Chinese name means nothing to taxi drivers. The signage is poor and it's tucked into a little alcove Bring the phone number so your cabbie can call. TIP - it's right next to M Hotel and Boran Hotel, which has GREAT signage.
Television no channel CCTV 5
Bad attitude Staff”
I will never stay at this hotel again.
And a room didn't look the same and fancy as a picture.
It's okay if you just stay for a night.
But I won't ! again.
Although the entrance is hiding in the street, but after go into the lobby, you will feel another world just infront of you.
