The complaints about this place are a bit ridiculous. It's on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, with a private beach, and they even give you free snorkeling equipment and kayaks! Not only that, but the arrival pier puts you on a walkway straight into the hotel! The food at the restaurant was also good, but yes indeed a Coke is 50 baht. It's a tiny island that has to have everything brought in and there are not a lot of other resorts to make it cost effective for suppliers.
You can both snorkel or swim right off the beach. At night, you can see fish swimming in front of the restaurant! The pool was clean and had a good shower area to get clean from the beach.
This is not a luxury hotel by any means--but they aren't charging for it, either!
My only advice to the hotel would be to install some Wi-Fi access points to expand their signals. Currently it is only available in the lobby or pool area.
Great place that we wish we had stayed longer!
Great hotel, lovely views”
Nice and kind staff, great resturang with good service. Free snorkelling equipment, kayak and Beach towels. Lovely vacation!
Fair value for your price ”
This hotel looks more like a summer camp, but offers everything you need. Rooms are clean and quite big (only bed was pretty small). One of the cheapest hotels in Koh Ngai. Staff is very friendly (they even borrowed us towels and snorkelling masks after we checked out). It's at the pier, but a bit away from all the other hotels/restaurants and main beach. but it has a beautiful private beach. Restaurant is a bit pricy as well compared to the others. As for us the price mattered we were happy to stay there
Luxury Resort This Is Not... but here’s why I’d stay again...”
Cons seem bad, but please read on...
Worst 2 nights sleep I’ve ever had... I went in March and had the cheapest room available with fan. Ceiling fan that rotated so no constant air directed in one place. Left bed in room 324 is terrible and needs replacing (can feel springs with every move).
My advice... do not risk it, stay in AC room for comfortable nights sleep!
No WiFi in room - Sporadic/near non-existent WiFi in reception/restaurant.
(Best WiFi and beach found on Paradise Beach!)
Pros (that far weigh out the cons if above advice taken!)
Good Free breakfast (if a couple = 2xfree breakfasts!)
Free mask & fins
Free use of sea kayaks
Conveniently 1 min away from boat drop off
While the place feels like it could do with some TLC, I calculated that the free perks available would actually cost at least the price of a fan room if you hired/bought, as is the case with most other hotels. AC room is a must though!!
Cold showers, fins and snorkel equipment is included and kayak as well!”
Good breakfast, restaurant little bit expensive for what you get. But for non high–end expectations quite appropriate. Awesome colourful fish at and underneath the beach :)
