We have stayed here three times, as a stop over before flying back to Bangkok.
Clean accommodation, friendly staff, ok food, great cocktails during happy hour! Pool is a really good feature overlooking the beach and sea.
Beach is clean
Garden room is great value for a stop over but I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel for a longer stay! Good value
Old place.. bad value for money
We loved our stay here. Large rooms with colourful designs loved by my girls. Right on the beach front, massage service available. Tasty food.. One of the best places we stayed!! Highly recommended.
Nice resort on nice beach”
Nice small and cosy resort with nice pool. Our bungalow was close to the beach.
Lawana resort was good for 1 night only. It was quite cramped and slightly dated. The staff however were fantastic and very helpful and nice. Pool was ok, more sunbeds would have been good. We had a nice walk from Fishermans wharf back on the beach. Great massage too!! Out children loved it.
Very disappointing ”
Beach access, view
We were a group of 3 who had just came from Koh Phangan after attending a friends wedding. I had stayed in a nearby hotel to Lawana Resort before I went to Koh Phangan and it turns out it was a lot nicer and better value for money than the Lawana Resort. I persuaded my 2 friends to treat themselves and pay a bit extra money to end our trip on a high. Unfortunately I was made feel very embarrassed when we came to the resort especially the room. The room was very small and could barely fit 2 people never mind 3 people. We paid additional costs per night for the 3rd bed and turns out it was available in the room if we had booked for 2 anyway. On top of that we had a bag each which meant we couldn't move around the room at all. The bathroom had clear glass panels and so we had to cover it with a blanket when it was occupied. We voiced our concerns to the reception staff and they just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. We also let them know we would be writing this review to which we got no reply. The food was very poor and expensive. We ate in a lot of places during our stay and this resort was bottom of our list. The breakfast spread wasn't good either. Most serving plates were empty and guests had to ask the staff to fill them back up as well as provide more cutlery. With Agodas charges as well as a lot of extra money for the 3rd bed on top of the high standard room rates the Lawana Resort is definitely not value for money. We will not be recommending the Lawana Resort to other potential guests.
Location, Clean, Not too crowded beach
Good location for walking distance to fisherman village, not too crowded beach if compare to Chaweng beach. Scooter rental locate opposite hotel. Room and bathroom space are good but Mattress were not that comfortable. Pillows is very tall eventhought they have mid-height but it was too flat. I used to sleep on down feather pillows. But this is 3 star hotel so don't expect too much.
Breakfast just OK. Coffee is really bad test which need a lot improvement. Only have one lunch at hotel which mediocre test.
Nice place, fair price. ”
Pool, restaurant and message located on beachfront, big rooms, grounds well maintained
We enjoyed our stay at Lawana. The bungalows were a nice size. There were no bugs in our room but there was one gecko, which was probably the reason there were no bugs. There was one crazy noisy bird that woke us up every morning at 5am which was a definite annoyance. The pool was really clean and lovely but the chairs could use some upkeep. It would be nice if they placed chairs on the beach as well. The restaurant was overpriced and underwhelming but there are many options nearby. Short beach or road walk to Fisherman's Wharf (tourist strip) which has loads of restobars and shops. Moto rental, travel agent, ATM, Family Mart (7-11) and street eats right next door to hotel lobby.
On the beach, nice bungalows with two bedrooms, good breakfast
Nice pool area just next to the restaurant and few steps to the sea. Rooms were just what we looked for, own bedroom for the kids ( age 5 and 7), clean and comfortable. There is a walking distance to the Fisherman's village where you can find lots of nice restaurants and shops and a playground for children.
Nothing more than a hotel”
Private Pool rooms. Breakfast Staff. Sunsets
It's incorrect that this Hotel calls itself a resort. It's nothing more than a Hotel. I had a Private Pool room but paid a premium for this. It's probably the only highlight of my stay here. The beach is acceptable but I found myself riding the bike around to Chaweng Beach to swim there. Nicer sand and enter the water on a more gradual basis. I found the breakfast staff very accommodating and helpful with good English skills. This hotel however has a Happy Hour from 12:00 to 16:00. The hotel advertises everywhere that you can purchase 1 meal or beverage and receive 2 for the price of 1. The Hotel's advertising is nothing short of deception of a grand scale. I ordered 1 Chang beer and was told about the 2 for 1 offer but I explained that I wasn't sure if I wanted a 2nd drink just yet, so I purchased 1 x Chang @ 85 baht. After I had my 1 Chang beer I said I would like my free extra Chang and was told that I only ordered 1 @ 85 baht and that if I wanted the offer of 2 for 1 I would have had to buy the 2 for 1 offer at 149 baht. Common ??? is that really 2 for 1 ??? I ask you. It's trickery and false advertising.
Nice hotel but not much choice for breakfast ”
Lovely Thai tropical style hotel. Convenience store and travel agency just next to the hotel reception. You can rent motor bike from the travel agency as well.
Value for money”
Location, Rooms, Beach
Stayed here on a mini break (4 nights) on our trip from the UK to NZ. Our room was clean and comfortable with everything you needed was provided- even jandles! Shower water temp was a bit variable but this wasn't an issue as it was 30 degrees outside. Pool very clean, loungers of older design but perfectly functional and plenty of them. Loved the position right on the beach and a short walk to Fisherman's Walk that is a must. Good breakfast included, Consisted of bacon, sausage, a Thai dish, egg station, 4 fresh fruits, cereals, juices, toasts, croissants and one other hot dish that changed daily- a good start to the day. Friendly and helpful staff
Excelent property for value. Perfect R & R!”
location; pool; staff
Very nice. Pleasent, clean, friendly proprty. Only issue would be the need for security 24/7 on site as this is a multi-bungalow proporty. Outside access from beach or road too easy for non guests. There were no propblems, but was aware and alert. But woulf definatly return.
Pleasant surrounds and staff. Unpretentious”
Location, serenity, views.
We stayed here a few years ago and thought we would revisit. We booked for three days and wound up staying 12. Just so easy you find it hard to move.
Great location to lots of restaurants great beaches friendly staff
Excellent, couldn't of asked of a better wind down after 5 weeks travelling in Europe before our trip back to NZ
