Great location but old and tired rooms”
Location, Staff and view from room
This is a very tired and old hotel. The ceiling in the corridor leading to the room had damp and flaking paint which clearly was from a previous leak. battered old rooms with cheap fittings and fixtures. The aluminum framed widows are corroded and would be more suitable for a fishing trawler. The safe in the room had been ripped off the wall by someone and had to be bolted down, the bathroom is tiny and it wasnt easy to get the balance between hot and cold. Soaps and shampoos and poor quality, old and frayed towels. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly and spoke good English.
There are much better 4 star hotels in Ipanema and Cooacabana. This is not a hotel for the business traveller.
Great location, small rooms, upgrade needed ”
great location, friendly staff
rio is one of the most amazing place to visit and is probably one of the most expensive too...this hotel is located in one of the best stretch on the leblon beach with a very convenient access to pretty much everything, good and well trained staff, but it is a little bit dated and it need a face lift specially in the rooms
Nice Hotel in premium location”
location and location
would just improve sound proofing and renovate pool area, but definetely would stay there again, location is prime and bed and lines pretty good.
The New Rio”
Hotels and tourist restaurants are now expensive however prices at drug stores, groceries etc are reasonable. As hotels are usually full they charge whatever they like and get it. By N.A. standards the hotels prices are too high for what you get.
