This hotel would be otherwise ok, even if it’s aged and basic. But the fact that at checkout they charge an additional and obligatory service fee that in my case was 40% of the room price paid to Agoda makes me regard this place as an dishonest business and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. That kind of obligatory fees should be included in the price as in any normal place. Also the way the receptionist was charging the service fee was inappropriate, she just told me to sign a receipt without explaining what it is. Avoid this scammer place. So many better (and honest) place around the neighbourhood for the same price (when all obligatory fees are taken into account).
Great price and location with hospitable staffs, but the hotel itself is a bit old.”
The hotel is very close to the bus terminal, which is very convenient to get around. The hotel is kind of aged, and the equipment in the hotel is only sufficient. Things like tooth brush and hot water don't exist. You will have to borrow the hair dryer from the front desk...but only when they have it... As for the safe, You can have this old style of safe bedside the front desk. There were two keys, and I got to keep one of them while the hotel kept the other. It was actually cool.
Most staffs don't speak too much English, so I had some difficulty communicating with them. However, the attitude of the staffs was patient and polite.
Good value for the money”
The Mirante Hotel is located close to the bus terminal that offers cheap transport options to all nearby attractions such as Bird Park, Iguacu Falls, Itaipu Dam, Iguazu Falls in Argentina, Ciudad del Este in Paraguay. During daytime is the airport also a destination for the buses. Near the hotel is a quarter with many restaurants, shopping oportunities and money exchange. The hotel staff is friendly, multi-lingual, the room is big, very clean, with basic furniture. Breakfast is a good buffet choice. All in all a very pleasant stay here.
