Best Location- Best Views from the Rooftop- Otherwise a regular 3 Star Hotel”
Location can't be beat- this is it. Most people on the rooftop are taking dozens of selfies- the pool and rooftop look onto ipenema beach and the surrounding mountains.
That said, the rooms are small, no especially clean (we had enough dust/sand/dirt on the floor in our two rooms that we had to wear shoes or slippers, or you constantly had to wipe your feet. The corridors carry noise and walls seem thin- you will definitely hear your neighbor. We had some lively neighbors on the weekend nights, also air con in 1002 made CRAZY loud noise that woke us up multiple times.
Staff are very friendly, speak English and Spanish as well as Portuguese obviously. They did jack us on our departure by ordering a "taxi" that was a private car charging us more than twice what an Uber or regular taxi would have, but we were late for the airport and they're probably savvy enough to know thats the easiest trip to gouge someone one.
The rooftop pool is very warm and seems to have no chlorine, so I'd be uncomfortable to go under the water for fear of catching an infection.
The neighborhood is fantastic- within walking distance so many restaurants, bars, shopping, taxis are abundant, and its safe. Amazing that there is so little traffic on the road between the beach and hotel- any other city would be bumper to bumper traffic. Apart from the hotel recommendation, it seems like a bicycle or scooter would be a great way to get around Ipanema, Copacabana area. there is a Bike Rio app that allows you to use local bikes for free, but we couldn't get it to work, might need a Brazilian cellphone.
Anyway, the hotel is great for location, but it def has some drawbacks. I would stay there again.
Great rooftop terrace with pool”
The hotel is located directly at the Ipanema beach and provides beachvhairs and guardasols for free if you want to stay on the beach. The rooftop has a magnificent view to both sides of Ipanema beach and leblond. This is connected to the restaurant that also serves drinks and snacks on the terrace. The rooms are standard but vlean with a comfortable bed and a small desk. The staff is really pleasant, attentive and friendly
Lots of malls nearby. Room's abit dated though.
An oasis of service”
1) Rodrigo Martin, the Front Desk Manager, was exceptional.

Location is excellent”
Location, breakfast, view
Overall a good stay. The location and the view are priceless. They have a nice breakfast included too. Some problems with the room but overall they fixed it promptly. A bit expensive but this area is worth it.
Perfect Location - beautiful view of ipanema ”
Location and beautiful rooms
We got to a bad start when we arrived at the hotel they did not have any record of our reservation. They did give us a room after long delay and reduced the price which was good.
The room was beautiful, nice furnishings and very clean. We had a deluxe suite with sea view and that was definitely worth it with amazing views of Ipanema beach and the Christ!!
Staff are friendly but don't have the best advice when it comes to restaurants and tour bookings best to do your own research before hand.
Also be wary of your security in the room, we had a staff member walk into our room in the early evening without knocking while we were having a nap. Makes me wonder how often staff let themselves into rooms.
Fantastic location and clean spacious rooms”
Location right on Ipanema Beach, large rooms that are well appointed
We stayed at the Praia Ipanema after transferring from another Rio hotel. Accommodation in Rio is expensive but the Praia Ipanema represented good value compared to other places.
The rooms were large, spacious and immaculately clean. The hotel had a nice pool and bar are on top with stunning views in both directions of the beach. They also provide free chairs and umbrellas on the beach itself which is a lovely service.
Highly recommended and grab a beach view if you can!
Right in front of ipanema beach!”
not the best but geographically perfect!
room: airy, abit dusty from a/c and sandy for obvious reasons
get the higher floors of course but ask for beach views
net & room safe deposit: chargeable
airport proximity: closer to domestic (25 - 30 mins), int' (35 - 45 mins)
shopping: just behind hotel (3 mins walk)
Lovely Locations for a not so lovely hotel”
Location and Beach Chairs
Booking the hotel on the internet it was hard to set an expectation for the hotel, but with what i paid a night I would have thought that it would have been at least half decent and it wasn't.
As soon as we were there reception asked if we would like to pay for the safe which I would expect to be included esp given a location like Rio. Upon entering the room it was an ok size but looked dreary and uninviting.
After 2 hours we were depressed enough to want to move to another hotel which was to the delight of Praia as they were overbooked, unfortunately so was everywhere else so we had literally no choice but to stay.
the breakfast was shabby to say the least. NOTE you can order eggs via the waiter. The eggs precooked along with everything else that should be hot food was cold, and the juices were watery and the choice limited.
Room service was extremely expensive, we ordered food on the internet which got delivered cheaper then room service and was great when we were to tired to leave the hotel.
Staff and people are always friendly in Brazil so no surprise there. They gave us an early checkin and a late checkout which almost made up for the construction work that was being done above us at 7 in the morning and which continued throughout our stay. Breakfast was so-so and the sink in the bathroom was clogged. The view and the location were excellent, however, and there were some great restaurants nearby. This is a passable hotel and not really worth the money unless you want the great ocean views and we did.
Less than 20 steps to the beach (if u like beaches”

Great location over looking the sea.”
modern hotel with nice balcony and roof top terrace and pool
the hotel is in a good location for restaurants bars and shopping as well being right on the seafront. the room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. breakfast was good although the breakfast room is full of mirrors which means you can bump into other guests carrying their breakfast to their table quite easily!
Great location but old room”
The pictures were deceiving on this hotel. They show you the newly renovation rooms but place you in the old rooms.
The room is spacious with a nice view & great light. The bathroom is old. Also the safe didn't work & they didn't fix it.
Most of the staff were friendly & helpful except for one of the receptionists on Sunday (27th) morning.
amazing, friendly boutique hotel”
intimate, safe, on the beach
drinks were expensive
we loved the hotel and the staff so much and got to know everyone there. Everyone was so helpful, and spoke english, and we enjoyed our time there, and would go back again.
Only stay here for the location”
location is right on the beach
needs renovation, nickel and dime'd, staff not helpful
We had to change rooms at midnight one night because we came back to our room which smelled like sewage. They thought they did us a favor by switching rooms...not good customer service. They also charge you for the safe and do not offer/allow irons, but are happy to press your pants Finally, hotel staff was not helpful when we tried to make dinner reservations, told us the wrong location of a citibank and the wrong hours for when H Stern was open....only stay here for the location.
The view from the hotel,
Personel was very friendly and helpfull,
Breakfast very good,
Good quality beds,
Good service in general,
Very nice terras and bar on topfloor,
Buffet on top floor was very good.
The elevator was very slow, only one was working,
The ridiculous high price for washing our clothes,
The doors to the balcony should be better quality as you can hear the traffic.
The hotel is very good with very good and friendly hotel staff. Also the location is five stars. Further the hotel has very nice views and a very beautilful terras with swimming pool. Next time I will be in Rio de Janeiro I would go to the same hotel again. I recommend this hotel to other people.
