Almost the ONLY place in Brazil - staff speaks english.
Not the best location, sometimes we were really scared and uncomfortable comming home, especially in the evening, but not far - just 5-7 mins walk to metro. An average 3 stars hotel.
A bit pricy but has everything”
Great breakfast and convenient facilities.
It is located downtown a few hundred meters from a big and beautiful old church/temple which I got to see only because I stayed here.
Staff are accomodating...Good location.”
Great breakfast ....
staff are friendly, helpful, and assisiting you for any thing possible you need. the location is good. has a wide selection of foods for breakfast.the room is average. buses routes are very accessible. very close to shopping and wiht good bargains store.
really bad place to stay”
this place is very bad, dirty, service is horrible, food is horrible, a lot of workers live in hotel, elevator is extremely hard to catch
Poor facility located in bad neighborhood”
The hotel had minimum facility, whose quality was terrible: windows did not fully closed (since it was cold at night, I put used bathtowels over the gap and wore thick fleece), toilet cover was tilted, TV was broken (or batteries on remote have died) etc. The hotel staff spoke minimum English, however they gave me such poor direction regarding how to get to a metro station. You never feel safe in the neigborhood near Carioca, which is filled with run-down houses and shabby shops.
Great and good Value for money ”
Very close to major tourist destinations
i had an amazing holiday in rio de janeiro and this couldn't be any better without this hotel.
rio presidente hotel is very close to mam de sa ave,
A delight to come "home" to.”
Customer service excellent
We were very grateful for the staff behind the counter for speaking English. They were very helpful in finding our way about the centre of Rio de Janerio. Only a short walk from subway, buses, shops, and THE CARNIVAL if you happened to be there at that time. Rooms were clean and comfortable and maid service ample. Breakfast restaurant was satisfactory. We would definitely stay there again.
Good value for money”
Located in historical center, clean, good service
This hotel is best for sightseeing and for business travelling as it's cheap and located in historical center - Carioca metro station. For beach rest it's not recommended - 10 stations to beaches.
There is a swimming pool 2 x 3 meters, small gym and sauna.
The start point of Santa Teresa tram is located quite close to this hotel.
Breakfast and cleaning were good.
Service was good b”
Service was good and price was worth it
Small rooms and bad location
The hotel did not have very many sit down restaurants nearby could be reached by foot but there were a lot of whole in the wall food vendors which I found very pleasant. There was a very large amount of shopping and the Cathedral Museum was within walking distance. The price made it well worth the stay and the room service was very good.
Ok hotel if youre staying for a few days”
Its in city center and close to the cathedral and atractions near by
Dirty and it didnt feel safe at night in this area
I though the room was ok for the price i payed but the staff did only speak portugese and myself had to ask for a safe in the room.
I think this should come from them since they dont take any responsibility if something gets lost from your room.
They had a small pool in the roof witch was ok,but the sauna and the training room was locked and out og function..
good location, clean room
This hotel locates at the center of the city. It is easy to access to a big bus stop (rodoviária) and a metro station. The room I stayed was very clean and organized. At the reception, you can speak in English and Portuguese. The breakfast was not very good. It did not have many varieties (no vegetables, for instance). It takes about 15min. to get to beach.
typical Rio old style hotel”
Old, tired Hotel. Check in and out was slow and belabored.
As a frequent, long-time visitor to Rio, I know what to expect. If you need something for a night or two, you need to be in Centro during the week, and you don't want to stay in something really low-end, the Presidente will do.
Rio's Presidente Hotel”
If you have to be right in the the city centre, it is. There is a metro station within a few blocks.
The central area is run-down, and so is the hotel.
The hotel management are struggling to maintain this hotel's four(?)star rating. The external shutters to the room were inoperable, and obviously in need of replacement. The room was quieter than I expected, as it was located on the 10th floor and overlooked the car park at the rear. Breakfast was reasonable. There is apparently a pool on the roof(it was locked at 8am).
Rio Presidente Hotel”
room was good size. effective air conditioning.
taxis always available outside the hotel.
the hotel is in a less safe area and not all that close to the metro.
this is a quiet and clean hotel in the centro area. it is convenient to transport, although on weekends when the area is less safe that distance seems an eternity.
Good stay in Rio!”
Helpful english speaking staff, great variety for breakfast buffet included in the morning, cheap stay.
Needs some attention with bathroom cleaning and hygiene.
I was satisfied with my 6 days stay at Presidente Hotel. The hotel is very close to cartioca metro station. No hotel can beat the price given at that level of service. Breakfast was between 6 am to 10 am and included eggs, fruit, drinks etc. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is safe yet it is in downtown. This hotel is not for a romantic stay, its a budget friendly hotel.
O quarto é apertado, a foto engano. O bom é que é no centro do rio, fica a 10 minutos da estação de metro mais próxima, e a diária paga foi barata.
instalações do quarto
não oferece atrativos para o hóspede ficar no hotel
Poderia teruma piscina maior
a sauna poderia ter uma ante-sala pois expõe o hóspede a golpe de ar principalmente em noite chuvosa
As refeições poderiam ser mais baratas
Poderia oferecer algum atrativo para convivo de hóspedes
Cortesia no atendimento balção e portaria
No geral foi bom e confortável. Seria excelente não fosse o barulho.
