Arrived no key in safe, look for room a man was already there! Tried to call the after-hours number”
No reply from 2 mobile emergency numbers! Went back to the room he had my envelope with my name together with the keys. I asked him how he got them he said he had the combination to the key safe. He thought it was strange my name was on the envelope not his.
He said I will go and left. Never again at this motel
I booked a 2 BR apartment for my Dad (who has leukaemia) & my brother to stay for 3 nights when they flew to Perth to attend a family member's funeral.
What a disaster. Unit was old and dirty and smelly. Couldn't open the window to let in fresh air.
My brother was most unhappy with the state of what I had booked. He sent me photos of the apartment... NOTHING like what I viewed on the website!!!
I had to pay another couple hundred dollars to ' upgrade! ' and then couldn't move til the following day!
My Dad came home sick!
Very cheap, so I guess you can not expect much, but stained carpets, power points hanging off the wall, dirty toilets and showers, taps which are not secure to the basin making the hard to turn on and off, cockroach baits in your room etc. did not make for a pleasant stay. It was advertised as a shared bathroom, not that you shared 3 toilets with 12 rooms and there was none downstairs. The place looks like it is getting ready for demolition and they can't be bothered doing anything to it?.
The worst thing to me was the power point, a child could grab it and be killed. Lift your game guys.
Thank you for your review, your feedback has been passed on to the team.
Not going back even at the price”
Cockroaches, hard beds, paper thin walls, bad parking (my car got hit and they didn't know who was back there.) 2 days we stayed practically no sleep can hear everything around you. The showers suck, cheap water savers that feel like needles hitting your skin. I watched a cockroach walk across my headboard while I was laying awake as the beds are painfully hard and I couldn't sleep.
Also stupid things like an unplugged bedside lamp... why unplugged you may ask. Well because there are no power points on that side of the room.
I can honestly say I have gotten more rest sleeping in my car.
They have made it look nice but failed to actually make useful improvements.
Not worth it.
Thank you for your review, if you had informed Reception of your concerns, we would have been more than happy to resolve your issues.
Booked a budget room for 3 days. Budget Accor can't expect much.
Pretty frustrating though when you pay $60 a night & staff can't be bothered to call txt or email to let you know they changed code for access to front door ! Twice ! Very rude no communication! Would I stay again prob not !
Still havnt received $50 keycard deposit back in my c/card. Checked out over 4 days ago !
Cheap and nasty, but tolerable for a short time”
Apartment was tolerable. Parking was ridiculous, not enough spaces for apartments. My car got damaged by drunk people because it had to be parked in the street (neighbours also recieved a parking ticket having to do this). NO LAUNDRY FACILITIES even at their main hotel Sunmoon Boutique Resort. Next to no hot water. No cleaning supplies (broom would have been good). WIFI is a joke! $25 per day and only 1 person can log onto it, can not be shared by guests in apartment, and the connection was very bad anyway.
Short time stay is tolerable (we stayed 2 nights), for anything longer I'd suggest booking elsewhere.
Thank you for your review, your feedback has been taken on board.
Nice staying here. In the morning you can have morning walk to the Scarborough/Brighton Beach. Near to many amenities like supermarket etc
Thank you for your review Noraziah, it was much appreciated.
Large space for family”
I went the for a family vacation. It was perfect for us as the place has kitchen and 2 rooms to accommodate 4 person. It's also nearby Coles easy to get some groceries. The only downside that I can think of is that the room has no cleaning service during your stay, I think ability to change towel is good enough for a long stay guest.
Thank you for your review and feedback Arif.
Needs a lot of work”
I have stayed here years ago and don't remember it being so bad but I am pretty sure all the furtniture is exactly the same.
The bathroom is similar to something you would find in a 70s horror movie.
The front and back courtyards were messy and had rubbish left on the floor (empty cans).
The front door looked as if at some point this place had been broken into and they have done the bare minimum to repair.
The "bed" in the larger room one side of the mattress was completely broken or the slats on the bed. Okay if you were a dog called up in a ball. the other side of the mattress was that hard I got up early I couldn't sleep anymore because i was in pain.
This place is so outdated and gross. Half the cupboards have been screwed shut so you can't use them. In doing this they have just made the place look cheaper and worse.
Unless this place has major renovations I would not stay here again.
Also, the first thing we did upon arriving was opened every window (some which were closed with pegs?) to get the god awful smell out.
I was shocked by the overflowing wheelie bins in the foyer and associated smells through the building. Bathroom facilities were really rundown (damaged) and not very clean. Bedroom was very basic - no reading light, mirror etc in room. Sheets were clean but dirty marks on walls and door. The worst part was the stale smoke smells in the bed. Unfortunately I arrived just as reception was closing so I couldn't voice my concerns that night. The staff member at check in was very helpful, but apparently from the neighbouring business (the overlap between the 3 accommodation houses was misleading). When I raised my concerns the next day they said it was nothing to do with them....I like to think budget can mean simple/ no fuss or good value, but in this case it means dodgy.
good value for the price wouldn't stay for more than a couple of nights but for a quick trip it had everything we needed
Value for money”
Location is good and the beach is walking distance from this establishment. Special thanks to Jimmy for assisting our needs for our three nights stay. Highly recommended and see you all next time.
Just For Sleeping”
Just a square room with small tv, fridge and cupboard. There was no housekeeping throughout my stay. The reception is at another building behind this apartment. The only safety is the card key locking system for the door. Bathroom is shared. If you are not fussy, then it should be ok. Not suitable for children. Walking distance to Scarborough beach, Coles and restaurants. No wifi. If you want wifi to check email go to the lobby of Rendezvous Hotel.
Good place to stay for both short and long term visitors. Beach and shops are very close by.
needs free wifi!”
daily wifi is $20 - not acceptable for a $100/nite hotel these days!
Convenient location, Don't like the deposit setup, $50 should taken then returned onto your card ”
Refund setup very old fashioned
Great location near beach”
A great location, but the staff demand a security deposit before you get your room, and had to wait almost a week before I got it back.
Cheap and handy”
Only drawback was shared bathroom & Toilet
Ants Everywhere, no toilet paper, no drain hole in the bathroom so water everywhere, not enough towels and not enough pillows
