Easy layover hotel with kids”
Transition and layovers are never easy with young kids but staying at Coty Lodge makes it easier. The hotel is in the airport and a short walk from arrivals. The rooms aren’t fancy but totally comfortable with good size bathrooms. The checkin process is super quick and all Covid protocols are in place. The pool area and restaurant was perfect for a swim so the kids could burn some energy after a super long plane ride. Tip: get an official airport luggage porter to help you with your luggage, they will get you to the hotel for a cash tip

Convenient overnight ”
City Lodge was a welcome, comfortable overnight after a 15 hour flight. Friendly staff, Covid precautions, quick check in to a comfortable, quiet room, very good light supper in airy, stylish dining area and first breaths of Durban air by the open doors to the pool area. Important! Crisp linens, fresh room and additional towels (room had only 1 set) when requested. Location is a winding 10” walk from international terminal-use the free luggage trolleys. In the early morning the car park fellows can get another trolley for you. Tip a few rand.

Just what I needed”
After I arrived after a long flight to Johannesburg. It was excellent to be able to walk a couple of minutes to a conveniently located hotel ! The staff was very helpful and I was quickly checked in and up in my room. The WiFi was great, the room was clean and a hot shower was perfect and definitely appreciated. The hotel was very quiet and the breakfast in the morning was excellent and definitely worth having . This was my first time at City Lodge , but definitely not my last !

Johannesburg Airport Hotel (best city hotel too)”
Hotel within the airport so 2mins walk with your trolley. they do day rate from 8pm - 5pm. We had 2 days and 1 night here and it was perfect. Ask hotel to book you Cosmos the driver, he is reliable, honest and great cultural experience. if like us, you dont know where to stay then this location is perfect. its about 30mins to city and Apartheid Museum (allow 2hrs and excellent), 2hrs out to Sun City for an afternoon safari. dont stay overnight - Cosmos will bring you back same day. Great food, hotel staff friendly and joking.

City Lodge at O.R. Tambo”
The hotel staff are friend and helpful. The hotel is clean, the food is delicious, it’s safe, and an easy walk to the airport. It’s about a 20 minute ride to downtown, but it wasn’t difficult to get an Uber. I’m happy I stayed at the airport rather than downtown. I’d stay here again.

We were welcomed and assisted by the staff of the hotel, with smiles, laughter and warmth. the pool is beautiful and clean. The staff were always available to assist with any request and query and went out of their way to make us feel at home. a great hotel

Immediately outside the airport”
We arrived and used google to find the hotel; it only offered the City Lodge that was a few km away so we took an Uber there. The staff kindly shifted our booking from the one at the airport and sent us back by shuttle in the morning for our early flight. The room was clean and bathroom where we stayed was huge. AC was a huge plus. Comfortable beds.

This was my first time using a hotel as accommodation for my travels. I must say I did not regret my decision. The staff at City Lodge was friendly and very helpful. Despite where the hotel is located, it was surprisingly quiet. I was even able to have meditated in peace. I was kind of sad that I could be able to stay longer due to the nature of my trip this time around but I will definitely use City Lodge again for my next trip (and hopefully be able to stay longer)

Great airport choice”
I’ve stayed here a few times now - it’s extremely convenient if you need to stay right at the airport without bothering with transport. The little gym is great for stretching legs after a flight and the staff have always been really friendly and helpful. I was able to use the hotel driver to get PCRs done one nearby Kempton Park and he waited for me outside the labs and brought me back safely. The rooms don’t have fridges but if it’s a short stay this isn’t an issue.

Why Stay Anywhere Else?”
Basically right in the airport terminal, you never have to leave the terminal to check in, so it's great for layovers and transfers. You have all the airport's facilities, shops, restaurants, car rental agencies, etc. at your disposal in addition to the hotel's facilities. An upscale hotel at a very good rate. I'll never stay anywhere else when in Joberg.

Quick and safe airport location. Friendly & very helpful staff”
My 4 year old daughter and I had to stay over after a 14 hour flight from Sydney and take our connecting flight to PE the next day. It was easy to find and safe to walk to. On check in the staff were helpful and friendly and we were shown to our room. The room was clean and spacious and we settled in, showered and headed down the GHD restaurant for dinner. The food was good and again the staff were so accommodating and friendly. We took some food back to the room for an early morning wake up and had a great nights sleep! Check out was quick and easy and we were back in the airport in a few minutes. Highly recommended!! :)

Good airport hotel… very close to airport”
I only had a short stop over and wanted a hotel you didn’t need to get a taxi too. This hotel is well sign posted from the airport terminal and is just a short walk through a tunnel from the airport. Room was nice and clean.

2nd time around ”
This is the 2nd time staying at the City Lodge and again it didn't fail me ! The location is great, short walk from the airport. The staff are very friendly and professional! The food was delicious and the restaurant is in a very convenient location especially after a long trip to Africa! It was great a nice hot shower, good food and a great bed ! Will definitely see me again!
