If you want to experience the japanese way of life then this is the place. The place is clean, neat and cosy. No compaints about that. all facilities were provided. There is a subway station just 10 mins walk. so no need to take a taxi.We took a taxi on the first day and it cost us 1800 yen from te JR station. But once we got to know of the subway station we never bothered to use a taxi. It takes just 15-18 min. by train to Kyoto JR station. We had taken theJR pass and the Kyoto subway and bus pass which made it very easy for us to commute to all the the sight seeing spots.
Its a very peaceful neighbourhood. We enjoyed our stay there. They have very good drip coffee.

Lovely little ryokan”
If you're looking for a ryokan experience in Kyoto that has you situated close to temples, shrines, and Gion, this is a great establishment that I'd absolutely recommend.

The quality of service needs to be improved”
The day out package can not be sent to the front desk is very inconvenient. So I have to take a parcel to play. There's a little problem. Bath water fits and starts.Kids are going to love tatami.Thanks.
In a very central location, this cute and quiet apartement is perfect to enjoy Kyoto. Everything is new and clean, very cosy, with a lot of space and a cute garden (in the Sakura suite). We really enjoy coming back to this place after a long day of exploring Kyoto! We would definitely come back here next time we're in Kyoto!!
This was a pleasant, comfortable, clean place to stay, in a charming building with a lovely little garden outside our room. It was a pleasure to come back to each evening after a full day of sightseeing, eating, and shopping! The location was excellent, as well - tucked away on a quiet street, but a quick and easy walk to several temples, and perhaps a 10 minute walk to the bustling shops and restaurants around Gion area.
It is very much "automated" in that you are given an electronic code to enter your room, and you do not really interact with any staff even to check in (though they do have a staff person there during business hours). Definitely different from the typical ryokan experience, where hospitality and meals are a highlight, but if you do not seek that sort of hospitality during your stay, this place would be a great choice.
The only real negative comment is that the tea provided in the room was awful instant powder tea mix...!
