Ok but overpriced”

With a score review of 9, I had high expectations and found it just ok. I travel to Paraty at least once a year and have experienced most of the prized Inns in town. This one is ok but overpriced compared to others in the city centre. Location and cleanliness are excellent but so are all the reputable Inns in town. The breakfast was the deal breaker here where selection was poor and fruits were not ripe. The omelette was oily and choice of fillings boring. The juice was from cartons... Not good. The wifi connection was really bad as signal dropped all the time. The decor is lovely and inviting but beware of the toilets by the pool where you are literally eaten alive by mosquitoes while you do your daily duties. Staff was lovely except on the day we checked out. They forgot to open the garage doors so we could drive off and despite asking once more (the receptionist was still on the phone to a prospective guest, presumably more important than departing guests) we were eventually allowed out by a member of staff who arrived to work via the garage doors. Phew!

Quiet and secluded boutique hotel”

The hotel has an unique taste and feel to it and it is a rather historical and colorful bouquet hotel. While one would be impressed by the outside appearance and history of the hotel, the rooms need a lot of improvement. Basic amenities are basic, don't expect too much!

Perfect, beautiful, friendly, location, romantic”

We loved this hotel. It was superb. The staff were fantastic, the location was great, the town was delightful - full of history and interest. For our stay there was plenty to do and lots of live music everywhere. The town is right on the water which makes it so picturesque. The hotel has taken great pains to maintain the beauty all around you. Our room was across the street and when you opened the door to get to your room it was like a piece of paradise - full of vegetation and lovely items.

Great unique hotel - excellent service”

I would definitely go back to this place. Nestled in the heart of Paraty and a short walking distance to the pier, this hotel is gem on its own. You should also try out the Italian restaurant - Refugio, just round the corner. Excellent seafood pasta.

Very original colonial style Pousada”

The personal was very competent and helpful, we enjoyed the very good breakfast (indeed the best breadfast we have had in Brazil). The Pousada was divided into several buildings, all of them nice and well renovated historical dwelling. We have felt very well at Pousada do Ouro during all our stay. Pousada do Ouro is well located directly in the historical center of Paraty with good possibilities to reach the harbour, stroll around.

we had a suite, and it was gorgeous. the common areas are great to hang out in, it is such a wonderful hotel. the hotel staff were so helpful too and speak english. the breakfast was good too. we had an early check-out, and the staff made us a breakfast basket the night before so we could eat in the car! terrific hotel! it also has a wonderful pool and garden...

Lovely hotel and very well located. ”

Long time I do not go to Paraty, I was surprise how well maintenance and busy was the city in this time of the year. A Pousada do Ouro is very well located walking distance from the sea to all restaurants and shops. I stayed in the room located in "Annex", this is a quite small and very simple, not too much confortable but very cozy the style of the building. Is kind of a boutique hotel. The breakfast was great and the service.

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Service”

i stayed at the pousada do ouro for a long weekend with my girlfriend and her 4 year old son. from the moment we arrived to park in the private, gated parking area, we were met with great service and a lovely attitude from the staff. the overall hotel complex is peaceful and beautiful. our room was a good size with a lovely balcony overlooking one of the charming streets in the town. the pool area and bar are very well laid out and relaxing. the breakfast was lovely and all our needs/requests were met with a smile on staff faces. i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! check it out!

Des odeurs de feu sont survenus durant la deuxième nuit provenant de l'air climatisé. Nous avion une suite appartement située dans la bâtisse se trouvant de l'autre côté de la rue. Provenant de la cheminé du restaurant à côté de la Pousada. Attention si vous réservé et qu'on vous donne la chambre numéro 6.

Parfait. Personnel à l'accueil tres attentif et toujours disponible. Cependant leurs renseignements n'etaient pas toujours corrects. Leur notion du temps pour aller de Paraty à Angra Dos Reis était d'une heure alors qu'il faut quasiment le double. Nous avons loupé le bateau prévu. Nous gardons malgré tout sur une bonne image de la Pousada Do Ouro
