The staff were good but misinformed by the owner on our booking, as a result we were given wrong rooms, but as being so late we complied. The main problem is that there was no manager on duty, instead a owner that didn't know how to work a computer and see if we had paid or not ( receipt from Agoda) in the end we left but still received phone calls questioning our payment as she didn't know how to log into her bank account or couldn't. Be bothered phoning Agoda to confirm payment. Avoid if possible -

usually we stay for business in the tropical beach hotel close by. all rooms were fully booked. thats why we tried Rantung Beach Hotel. Rooms simple equipped but totally clean. staff friendly. no other guests, breakfast good and the time is flexible. we choose once 7am and once 5:30am! AC is not noisy! Water hot and pressure excellent! Dinner good quality and fair prices. Only critic: No wifi / internet. Even not in public area and also no 3G signal with telkomsel!

Although booked through Agoda there was total surprise when I arrived. But I got a good room quite fast. They could not help problems with power. Outside surrounds looked a bit sad but room was simple and large with a cosy large outdoors.
Problems with included breakfast which ended up coffee with 2 slices of toast with jam because the 'run out of orange juice and eggs'.
I booked and paid for 2 nights but left quick smart after the first night sharing my room with healthy cockroaches.
To put in perspective I visit and travel a lot through Indonesia for over 35 years. I love it.
I just think this friendly place is a better destination in the surfing season.

I choose this lodging based on customer reviews, so I feel I need to write a review.
The air conditioning did not work in any of the units. I was moved to a different unit because the air-conditioning in my unit was not working, but that unit actually dripped water onto the bed! The owner was very apologetic, explaining that the units need servicing every 3 months; however, this is rather an important feature to have working in Indonesia. The staff were nice, but, didn't make up the room or provide the room with the common things that rooms should have (like a waste basked, toilet paper, etc.) I was always asking for basic things that should have been provided. I know you pay for what you get, but I could have paid 1/3 of the price for the same beach just 2 doors away.
