Standard riad about 10min walk from Djemaa el-Fnaa”
Hassan and his team are friendly, welcoming hosts in this riad that is tucked within a residential street not far from the Djemaa el-Fnaa and souks of Marrakech. Their riad is well-equipped, with a wading pool on the ground floor, a rooftop terrace, and nice Moroccan breakfasts every morning (plus the possibility of having dinner the first night). My particular room on the second floor had good wifi access and a giant bathtub as well as good airconditioning for the hot climate (even in mid-September).
I only gave them 4 stars in location and facilities because I am comparing this to the 3 other riads we experienced during our trip to Marrakech. All were the same price range, but some were nearer to the action than others, and the other 3 were closer to better-lit streets and thus were less intimidating to find at night than this one. That said, there were no particular safety issues with Riad Laora; they cannot be blamed for the fact that the city does not replace light bulbs on the streets surrounding their riad. Some other riads also offered much larger and comfortable rooms for the same price point as Riad Laora (although I think the wading pool here was a unique thing our other riads did not have). Finally, this riad was the only one among the three we saw that did not accept credit card payments, and since at this time, you do not pay at the time of reservation, you will definitely have to watch out and bring some extra cash around with you to pay for your stay.

The hostess of the Medina was welcoming and friendly. She gave us wonderful advice for our stay in Marrakesh. The Riad was beautiful and the plunge pool well appreciated at the end of the day.
